Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

204: prince?Xu Bai pulled Xu Le through the train carriages, found the room assigned to him, opened the door, and walked inside.

”Lele, we’re going on a long trip to have fun. Are you happy?”

”Happy! Going out to play, going out to play!”

Xu Le waved his little hands.

”That’s good. Then you have to be a good boy and drink this medicine.”

”Medicine?”

Xu Le was very confused. This was his first time hearing this word, and he didn’t know what it was.

But the confusion only lasted for a moment. He was so preoccupied with the thought of going out to play that he nodded without thinking much about it.

”Okay, Lele will be a good boy and drink the medicine.”

Hearing Xu Le’s answer, Xu Bai smiled, opened the packet of medicine, and poured it into the prepared boiling water.

He then stirred it, let the liquid cool to a suitable temperature, and gave it to Xu Le to drink.

Three minutes later.

”Here. Lele, you have to drink it all in one go. Don’t spit it out; this medicine is very precious.”

Xu Bai looked into Xu Le’s eyes and said seriously.

Xu Le stared at his brother’s serious expression and imitated him, looking at the medicine in the bowl with a serious face.

He held the bowl, sniffed the medicine, and realized it didn’t smell very good. Suddenly, he wanted to change his mind.

But remembering what his brother had just said, he had no choice but to hold the bowl and drink. The moment the medicine touched his lips, Xu Le stopped and licked it with his tongue.

”So bitter.”

The bitterness of the medicine made Xu Le’s face scrunch up. He maintained this pose for a while, unable to make up his mind.

This was the greatest challenge he had faced in his two years of life—drinking medicine.

Looking at Xu Le’s cute expression now, he chuckled to himself.

However, this medicine had to be taken, so he took a candy out of his pocket, placed it on the table, and tempted him.

”Lele, you really have to drink this medicine. If you drink it slowly, it will taste bitter for a long time. If you drink it all at once and then eat the candy, it won’t feel as bitter.”

Hearing his brother’s words, Xu Le put on a tragic expression, closed his eyes, moved his hand, and gulped the medicine down.

After finishing, he immediately stuffed the candy from the table into his mouth.

”Brother, Lele is a good boy.”

”That’s right, Lele is a very good boy. Brother is very happy.”

Xu Bai hugged Xu Le and affectionately ruffled his hair.

For such a small child to know how to drink his medicine, he felt that the child was quite easy to take care of.

This medicine was actually a preventative one that everyone going on a long trip needed to take. Xu Bai had taken it with everyone else in the morning.

Because the dosage for the elderly, pregnant women, and children was different from that for normal people, Xu Le had his own separate portion.

You have to realize that traveling far away these days is quite troublesome. Moreover, they would be traveling by boat, which easily triggers symptoms like colds or issues with acclimatization.

Drinking this medicine was an effective way to prevent these issues; it was quite convenient.

...

After finishing his business, Xu Bai leaned back on the bed leisurely.

Usually, there were four bunks in each room, which could accommodate four people. However, this train had been prepared exclusively for them, and there were no other passengers. With so many empty bunks, they assigned one room to each teacher and shared rooms between two Students.

Therefore, only Xu Bai and Xu Le were in this room, as Xu Le was still just a small child.

At first, he had considered leaving Xu Le at the training camp for others to look after, but after some thought, he decided to bring him along.

Being alone would be very lonely, and very scary. Putting himself in his shoes, he knew he would be afraid if he were left behind alone.

Xu Bai looked at the scenery outside the train window and suddenly remembered the letter Wu Zijin had sent. He rummaged through his bag, found it, and opened it to read.

After finishing the letter, Xu Bai smiled.

He knew Wu Zijin had secrets, but he hadn’t expected him to reveal them directly to him now.

Wu Zijin was actually not from the Tianlong Republic, but from the Luo Lan Empire.

He was the Fifth Prince of Luo Lan, and his real name was Sinjin Junius Brewster.

What a long name. Western names seemed to put the first name before the surname, so he would just call him Xin Jin.

Wu Zijin, ”Wu Zi Jin,” the fifth son Xin Jin—he really was playing a word game.

Xu Bai was very surprised that Wu Zijin was a prince of the Empire. Actually, he had initially thought the other party was a cultist, but after spending some time together, he had dismissed that notion.

”The reason I am telling you my identity now is that you are going to the Empire, so it is best to understand some information about it.

Currently, because the King of the Luo Lan Empire is ill, he has handed over power to the First Prince, Julian.

But what everyone doesn’t know is that while the First Prince, Julian, is the ruler in name, the actual controller is the Second Prince, Theodore.

Theodore is a person who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Since the King of the Empire is not yet dead, the Second Prince has only imprisoned the First Prince’s mother to threaten the First Prince.

As for me, the Fifth Prince who has nothing to do with the throne, I ’died’ in an accident. Since I couldn’t stay in the Empire anymore, I fled to the Tianlong Republic.

I believe the King of that Empire has no feelings for me, and I have no intention of returning.

You might be a bit confused as to why I am telling you so much.

I know that the Tianlong Republic is currently strong, and the Luo Lan Empire dare not provoke it. As someone from the Tianlong Republic, you should be relatively safe.

However, anything can happen. If you happen to encounter danger, you can use the following things to help you.

...”

The reason Xu Bai smiled after finishing the letter was that he realized the other party was worried about him.

In fact, when he thought about it, Wu Zijin was the first friend of his own age he had made in this other world.

As for Fang Mu and the others, Xu Bai treated them like his younger brothers.

He wondered what kind of situation would arise during this trip to the Empire.

Many people from various countries would be coming for this competition. As the host, the Luo Lan Empire certainly wouldn’t want anything to go wrong, so they probably wouldn’t do anything out of line. After all, if something happened, it would be their country that lost face.

And other countries didn’t have the ability to provoke the Tianlong Republic, so the danger was relatively small.

Moreover, the image he projected to the outside world was that of a genius Card Maker who had consumed a Mental Corrosion Potion. In other words, he was currently in a half-crippled state, so the Empire shouldn’t have any designs on him.

Furthermore, among their group, Bai Shan had the most important status, so the probability of Bai Shan encountering danger was higher than his.

However, he believed that the Tianlong Republic also knew of Bai Shan’s importance and would send specialized personnel to protect him.

Just in case, he would give all the teachers and Students a card he had made himself that could protect them tomorrow.
