Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

162: So boldWhen Liu Cong saw Liu Xin enter, he knew that the matter could no longer be kept secret. He had no intention of defending himself and planned to confess directly.

He knew that even though his father would be disappointed in him, he would not directly remove him from his position as the next head of the Qian Family.

At this moment, Liu Yi stepped forward and said,

”No, it was my suggestion. I suggested doing this. If we do this, our Liu Family might be able to get a share of the new energy market, and later on, we won’t have to depend on the Qian Family.

Father, don’t you want our Liu Family to surpass the Qian Family? Do you want to always look at the Qian Family’s facial expression? Just like this time, the Qian Family can treat our Liu Family however they want, without consulting us at all.”

Liu Yi’s words gradually eased Liu Si’s ashen face.

What the Qian Family did this time indeed made him a little angry, and he hadn’t expected the Liu Family to be defeated so quickly in the face of the Qian Family’s suppression.

In fact, Liu Si also realized that if the Liu Family continued, it might become completely dependent on the Qian Family. However, the fact that his sons made such an important choice for the Liu Family without consulting him left a trace of gloom in his heart.

Were they trying to seize power?

…Seeing Liu Si’s expression, Liu Xin, worried that her father would be misled by her two brothers, quickly said,

”Father, you should know that this Dry Battery Card has not yet developed, and we don’t know its prospects. The Qian Family, on the other hand, has already grown so powerful. Should we offend the Qian Family because of this?”

Liu Si closed his eyes and remained silent for a moment.

Then he spoke, ”You must know that I am currently in charge of the Liu Family. Don’t think about flying before your wings are fully grown. Are you trying to seize power?”

Liu Cong and Liu Yi lowered their heads when they heard this. They knew their father was reprimanding them.

Liu Xin, however, raised her proud head, believing that she had won this round.

After so many years, she had finally found something to hold against her brothers. If there was a first time, there would be a second.

She believed that the rift between her father and them would grow wider and wider, and one day, her father would abandon them and choose her to be the head of the Liu Family.

”Now tell me, is the situation as Liu Xin said?”

”Yes,” Liu Cong and Liu Yi replied in unison.

”Do you know what the Qian Family wants us to do?”

Liu Si began to think at this moment. He was not a foolish person to have become the head of the Liu Family.

”We haven’t found that out yet.”

The three Liu Family siblings all shook their heads.

”Alright, Liu Xin, I’ll leave this matter to you. Tomorrow, go and ask the Qian Family what they want.”

”Okay.”

”Just the two of you. I will tell you what to do then. I hope you won’t go against my wishes.”

”Okay.”

After giving his instructions, Liu Si dismissed them… Evening.

Liu Yi secretly snuck into Liu Cong’s room.

Liu Cong’s wife, Yan Mengyao, was startled.

She thought her husband was so bold as to meet his mistress directly in the bedroom, wanting to have a date in front of her.

Liu Cong’s face also darkened. He comforted his wife, then dragged his younger brother into the walk-in closet to talk.

Yan Mengyao thought to herself, ’If I didn’t know they were biological brothers, I would think they had some unspeakable secret.’

…Inside the walk-in closet.

”You came to see me so late, is something wrong?”

”Brother, it’s an emergency now, why aren’t you worried?”

Liu Cong watched his younger brother move around as if he was being chased, and his brows furrowed.

”Calm down, it hasn’t reached that point yet.”

”I can’t calm down, Big Brother. Have you talked to your two daughters? If the Qian Family wants Mengyan and Mengyun to do something, what should we do then? Have you thought of a good solution?”

”Mengyan and Mengyun have grown up, they know what to do. I believe that my many years of guidance will not let them make the wrong choice.”

After hearing his brother’s words, Liu Yi’s mind was still in a mess, without any clear thoughts.

”I don’t even know what the right choice is and what the wrong choice is, how could they know? Big Brother, are you not planning to say anything to them? Should I send someone to contact them and tell them not to come home directly, so that the matter won’t involve them?”

Liu Cong tapped his younger brother’s head, feeling a bit frustrated that he was not living up to expectations. His younger brother’s mind was very sharp this afternoon, knowing how to defend him, but now he had become foolish?

”This afternoon, Father was already wary of us. If you send people out now, he will find out. You must know that he is still in charge of the Liu Family.”

”ε=(´ο｀*))) Alas—”

Liu Yi sighed deeply.

”Big Brother, when will it be your turn to be in charge? If you were in charge, it would be great, we wouldn’t have to worry so much.

Also, regarding the Qian Family, our Liu Family needs to get rid of them as soon as possible, otherwise, if this happens once, it will happen a second time, and they will use this trick to threaten us again in the future.

And Big Sister Liu Xin, I wonder if she will be highly regarded by Father this time. Thinking about all this gives me a headache.”

”Don’t underestimate Father. Although cooperating with the Qian Family seems very bad now, at that time, it was indeed the correct decision.

If it were us, we would think that cooperating with the Qian Family while encouraging our own Card Maker to research is the correct choice, but think about it, would the Qian Family be willing?”

Liu Cong often thought about the future of the Liu Family, about the cooperation between the Qian and Liu families, and he had thought a lot.

However, even though he knew it was the right choice at the time, he did not advocate going down one path to the end. The current Liu Family needed to make some changes.

Change, change. The word ’change’ implies bloodshed, it’s just that he doesn’t know whose blood will be shed then.

At the same time, the reason he felt that now was the best time was because the Qian Family would not be the sole dominant power later on.

Through his daughter, he knew that the development potential of electric energy might be even greater than coal, and his two daughters being able to join the research institute to conduct research together would be an opportunity for the Liu Family to redevelop.

”Then are we doing nothing?” Liu Yi asked again, unwilling to give up.

Looking at his younger brother, and thinking about his defense earlier today, Liu Cong still said a few words to reassure him.

Hearing his brother’s explanation, Liu Yi felt relieved, and he bid him farewell and returned to his room… ”What did your brother want?” Yan Mengyao asked her husband, who was lying beside her.

”It’s about the Qian Family.”

”Alright, then I won’t ask any more questions. I believe you will protect us.”

”Mm.”

The couple embraced and fell asleep.
