Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

161: Is it true?Recently, for some unknown reason, many of the Liu Family’s industries have been hit hard.

At first, they only thought it was because of the emergence of new energy, which had some impact on coal energy.

However, as time went by, they found that this impact not only did not stabilize but grew larger and larger.

At the same time, even if there was an impact, it couldn’t possibly only affect their family. They inquired about the situation of other families and found that other families had gradually stabilized and were not experiencing the same problems.

Therefore, they knew that someone must be secretly causing trouble.

Which family could it be?

They immediately mobilized their informants to investigate the specific situation.

The Liu Family had developed smoothly for many years, and most of the time, they had never encountered such a situation.

They were now like ants on a hot pan, pacing anxiously.

Which family or families wanted to deal with their Liu Family?

And why did they want to deal with the Liu Family?

What goal did they want to achieve by dealing with the Liu Family?

What benefit would they gain by dealing with the Liu Family?

These questions constantly revolved in the Liu Family Patriarch’s mind... The next afternoon.

Liu Si, the Liu Family Patriarch, and his two sons gathered in the study.

As soon as he entered the study, Liu Si eagerly questioned his two sons.

”Do you know which family is causing trouble? Which family wants to go against our Liu Family? Have you heard any news?”

The eldest son, Liu Cong, was the next Patriarch of the Liu Family and the father of Liu Mengyan and Liu Mengyun.

”From the information we’ve gathered, we suspect it’s the Qian Family.”

Hearing this answer, Liu Si’s pupils constricted. This answer was very unexpected to him.

”The Qian Family, is it the Qian Family I’m thinking of?”

”Yes, Father, which other Qian Family would have the ability to do this to us?”

His second son, Liu Yi, replied to him.

Hearing the affirmative answer, Liu Si could no longer bear the blow and sank into a chair.

Although there was some estrangement between the two men and their father, blood was thicker than water, and they still worried about his health, wanting to step forward to help him up.

Liu Si waved his hand, stopping them from approaching.

”The Qian Family, the Qian Family has made a move, our Liu Family is finished.”

Unexpectedly, his father would be so pessimistic, Liu Cong spoke out the solution he had thought of.

”Father, it’s not that bad yet. We can divest from industries related to coal energy.”

”If we divest from these industries, won’t our Liu Family fall from a first-tier family to a second-tier one? No, I don’t accept that.”

”Father, if you continue to increase investment in coal energy, our Liu Family will sink deeper and deeper. At that time, it won’t just be a matter of falling to second-tier. We might even directly become a third-tier family.”

Liu Yi felt that his brother’s idea was not wrong; it was their father who was too stubborn.

Which aristocratic family could always rely on others for development? If they always relied on others, wouldn’t it be easy for others to deal with them when they wanted to?

Just like this time, they were caught off guard.

Their Liu Family also became a first-tier aristocratic family by relying on themselves at first, but ever since their father, Liu Si, became the Patriarch.

To obtain the qualification to sell coal energy and to advance further in the energy field, he exchanged many resources with the Qian Family, and at the same time reduced funding for cards research. Because of this, some of the Liu Family’s Card Makers were poached by the Qian Family.

The Liu Family thus gradually lost its autonomy, and now almost half of their industries rely on the Qian Family’s coal energy.

That’s why Liu Si was so distraught and at a loss when he learned that the Qian Family was going to deal with the Liu Family.

In fact, Liu Si also had some selfish motives here. After all, the biggest decision he made since he took office was to cooperate with the Qian Family. If this decision were to be negated, wouldn’t that mean everything he had done before was wrong?

He did not want, nor was he willing, for such a situation to occur.

In his opinion, he was not wrong and would not make mistakes... ”Do you know why the Qian Family wants to deal with our Liu Family?”

Since the matter had already happened, they still had to find a way to solve it, but he did not want to agree to his sons’ previous suggestions and wanted to find another breakthrough.

After he asked this question, Liu Cong and Liu Yi fell silent.

Although they knew the reason, they did not want their father to know.

After all, if their father knew, he might make even more wrong decisions.

After a moment of silence, Liu Si asked again, ”The Qian Family must have a reason for dealing with our Liu Family. Haven’t you found out?”

They knew their father had accumulated anger, and someone had to answer now.

As the eldest brother, Liu Cong certainly couldn’t back down at this moment. He thought for a moment and then replied.

”Sorry, we haven’t found out the Qian Family’s intentions yet.”

”Yes, we haven’t found out the reason why the Qian Family is dealing with our Liu Family yet.”

Liu Yi echoed his elder brother.

As soon as their voices fell, someone pushed the door open and rushed in. The butler outside didn’t have time to stop her.

The person who came in was Liu Xin, the Liu Family’s eldest daughter. As she rushed in, she shouted.

”Father, I know the reason!”

Seeing the person, although Liu Si knew she was answering his question, he still frowned.

”Who allowed you to come in? Why were you outside? How long have you been outside?”

Liu Si was actually an extremely conservative person. In his opinion, although his eldest daughter’s personality was more like his, and his eldest son and second son often disagreed with some of his ideas, the family still had to be inherited by a male. A daughter who marries out is like spilled water. If he handed the family over to his daughter, the Liu Family might no longer be the Liu Family.

Therefore, the current heir he chose for the Liu Family was Liu Cong.

”Father, now is not the time to talk about this. Now, it’s Big Brother’s daughter who wants to drag the entire Liu Family into the abyss.”

Liu Si was stunned by Liu Xin’s words. What did this Qian Family matter have to do with his eldest son’s daughter?

”Tell me, what does the Qian Family dealing with our family have to do with the eldest son’s child?”

Seeing that her father finally realized the crux of the matter, Liu Xin smiled triumphantly.

She wanted to use this incident to make her father lose trust in his two sons, and at the same time, she could also get involved in family matters and gain some power.

”Father, the Qian Family wants to deal with our Liu Family because the sisters Liu Mengyan and Liu Mengyun joined the research institute studying solid-state batteries. And now, Big Brother wants to hide it from you. You should know that this matter could cause the Liu Family to suffer significant losses. Do you think Big Brother can be a good Patriarch of the Liu Family?”

After hearing Liu Xin’s words, Liu Si silently looked at his eldest son.

”Is what Liu Xin said true? If she hadn’t said it, Liu Cong, were you planning to keep the truth from me all along?”
