Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

130: Go home, go homeThe cards prices in the price list were jumbled, because each cards was unique. For example, today cards number 100 might be a certain cards, but once it’s sold, there’s no longer a cards number 100. Then, cards number 600 might be added to the empty spot where number 100 used to be.

Xu Bai finally found the prices for the two cardss he wanted to buy. Fortunately, the prices were quite reasonable, only 26,000 yuan to buy them.

Although it was still a relatively high price compared to many other cardss, it was quite good when compared to the other cardss here, where the lowest price was 10,000 yuan.

Since the price list was shown to Xu Bai, he directly picked out the two cardss he wanted to buy and then handed the money to the boss.

After Xu Bai made his purchase, Wu Zijin took the price list from Xu Bai’s hand.

He waved his hand grandly.

He also bought 10 cardss in this shop, several of which were very expensive, some over 600,000 and others over 800,000. He spent several million in one go.

Seeing him like this, Xu Bai, who initially thought he was quite rich, now felt that money was spent too quickly.

After leaving this shop.

Wu Zijin asked Xu Bai doubtfully, ”Xiaobai, are you also involved in material research?”

Xu Bai was stunned for a moment.

Material research?

Perhaps the two cardss he had just bought gave Wu Zijin this misconception.

But Xu Bai couldn’t reveal that he recognized the ’stones’ inside these two cardss.

So he could only say vaguely.

”I’ve recently become a bit interested in these things, so I bought them to try them out, planning to attempt some research.”

”Alright, if you don’t understand anything, you can always ask me. I only do material research.”

Noticing that Xu Bai didn’t want to talk much, Wu Zijin didn’t press further. After all, there was still plenty of time, and he could observe him.

If Xu Bai could achieve some small results in his research, then he would consider whether to bring Xu Bai into his research team.

The two continued to browse, and afterwards, Xu Bai only bought two toys for Xu Le to play with, not seeing anything else he particularly wanted to buy.

However, Wu Zijin again spent several million yuan lavishly, and also used up the 10 points he had just acquired today. The total expenditure for the day must have been around 10 million yuan.

Xu Bai was silently speechless, feeling poorer and poorer.

At the same time, he was also very curious about what exactly Wu Zijin was researching that required so much money.

After the two walked down a street, Wu Zijin suggested that they stop for the day. Xu Bai didn’t refuse, as he planned to go home today and didn’t want to stay overnight in this county town.

So the two decided to leave.

However, they didn’t return the way they came, but exited through another exit, intending to go straight home.

Wu Zijin gave his address to Xu Bai and told him that whenever he wanted to go to the guild in the future, he should send him a message in advance, and he would wait for him at the previous meeting spot.

This was because Xu Bai could not yet freely enter and exit the guild and still needed his inviter to lead him.

After bidding each other farewell, Wu Zijin hurried away, wanting to go back to his research...

”Brother, this is for Fugui, and this is Lele’s.”

While the two brothers were still in the car, Xu Le began to allocate the gifts they brought back.

In Xu Le’s eyes, Fugui was his good friend, and he had to bring it gifts when he returned. So, when he saw something outside that Fugui might like, he would ask his brother to buy it.

Today, he saw a ball that could roll automatically, just like his previous small car, so he asked his brother to buy it, intending to give it to his good friend Fugui to play with when they got back.

”Lele, where’s brother’s gift?”

Xu Bai saw that he had allocated gifts to himself and the dog, and couldn’t help but tease him.

Hearing his brother’s question, Xu Le blinked his eyes.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind.

He fumbled in his pocket and pulled out something.

”Brother, your gift.”

Seeing Xu Le’s hand extended towards him, Xu Bai opened his own hand, letting him place it in his palm.

When the item was in his palm, Xu Bai looked closely and couldn’t help but smile wryly.

In his palm was a cherry tomato. It turned out Xu Le had secretly put some fruit in his pocket at noon.

Xu Le now had a bit of a foodie trait, often stuffing his pockets with all sorts of snacks.

Something was better than nothing.

Xu Bai popped the cherry tomato from his palm into his mouth.

Seeing his brother accept his gift, Xu Le also grinned and took out a few more fruits to share with his brother...

After returning home in the evening, Xu Bai tucked Xu Le and Fugui into bed, then immediately went into his workshop and took out the two ’stone’ cardss he had bought during the day.

Xu Bai had actually been researching electricity for some time before. Initially, his idea was very simple: to achieve it in one go, planning to directly create electricity, but later he found it a bit difficult.

So he settled for the next best thing, intending to research batteries first. Although he hadn’t made one yet, he already had some ideas.

In his previous life, the earliest battery appeared in 1800, the Voltaic Pile researched by Italian physicist Alessandro Volta.

Its core principle was that zinc and copper plates, reacting through a saltwater electrolyte, produced a stable current, meaning it used the potential difference between metals to generate electricity.

However, this only proved that electricity could be artificially produced, not that it could be used.

But through this, one could clearly understand the essence: a potential difference was needed.

However, a potential difference exists between many metals, so he needed to consider what the battery would be used for first.

What Xu Bai prioritized in his mind, of course, was the electric light. With electric lights, he wouldn’t have to face the dim light of candles at night.

Next would be the electric fan. It was almost the end of July, and the weather would get hotter and hotter later. He didn’t want to be in a sauna.

And to maintain the power for electric lights and fans, the choice of battery was also very important.

Xu Bai’s current idea wasn’t particularly bold; he planned to take it step by step, wanting to research dry-cell batteries first. Electric lights and electric fans could be made smaller initially.

This way, the battery wouldn’t require later maintenance and could be thrown away after use. The voltage would also be relatively stable, and electrical appliances could be used more quickly.

Thinking of dry-cell batteries, Xu Bai recalled the zinc-manganese batteries taught in textbooks.

Zinc-manganese batteries, depending on the nature of the electrolyte, are actually divided into acidic zinc-manganese batteries and alkaline zinc-manganese batteries.

However, alkaline zinc-manganese batteries seemed to be better. Not only was their capacity 2-3 times that of acidic zinc-manganese batteries, but their discharge current was also larger, leakage was less, and their storage time was relatively longer.

Therefore, making the latter was more cost-effective.

Well, mainly Xu Bai felt that the difficulty of making either cards was similar, so he chose the better one.
