Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

121: Welcomed by the DeanThe steam train arrived at the station, and the six people walked out of the exit together.

After exiting the station, everyone immediately saw the eye-catching banner ahead. The banner read: ’Warmly celebrating the return of the Morning Star Elementary Academy teachers representing the school in the Card Innovation Competition!’

It might have been the first time such a situation occurred, as some travelers even stopped to watch the spectacle.

The five people’s toes were practically digging into the ground.

If it lasted any longer, a new station might have been dug out.

As for Xu Le, he didn’t understand what embarrassment was. If he did, he might have also wanted to escape... ”Teacher Yang, were you also welcomed like this when you returned before?”

Liu Zhitao asked Yang Haoran, the ’old hand’.

”No, I wasn’t. This is my first time experiencing something like this too.”

Yang Haoran quickly shook his head. He also didn’t know what kind of madness had seized the Academy.

”I think it might be because the station has a large flow of people, and the Dean wants to promote something.”

Xu Bai voiced his guess.

While the group was still discussing and hadn’t moved forward, the students holding the banner had already spotted them.

”Teachers, over here, come over here.”

”Teacher Liu.”

”Brother Bai, Lele, Teacher Ji, we’re over here.”

”Teacher Yang, come quickly.”

”Teacher Wang, look over here.”

...

The most enthusiastic caller was Zhao Zixuan.

When it came to selecting students to welcome the teachers this time, he eagerly signed up, wanting to join in the fun.

The few of them could only move their feet and walk towards the banner.

If they didn’t go over soon, the students’ shouting would attract everyone in the entire station.

Seeing them approach, Dean Liao Qianxin came forward and shook hands with each of them, also holding Xu Le’s small hand and shaking it twice.

He thanked all the staff who had served at the Competition.

Facing this lively atmosphere, Xu Le was already so happy he didn’t know which way was up.

He nodded at every word the Dean said, not even knowing if he understood.

Xu Bai looked around and found that not only were there students, teachers, and the Dean, but also official reporters.

After shaking hands with the Dean, student representatives stepped forward and pinned large red flowers on everyone.

Zhao Zixuan squeezed in front of Xu Bai, winking and making faces.

He secretly took out a small red flower from his pocket and pinned it on Xu Le’s chest.

”Flower, Lele has a flower... Brother also has a flower.”

”Yes, Lele and Brother both have flowers.”

...

Immediately after, reporters squeezed forward, asking all sorts of questions.

After answering a few questions from the reporters, the group headed to the Academy in the Academy’s school bus...

”Dean, what’s going on? Is there anything special about this year’s competition? Why is there such a big fuss?”

As soon as they got on the bus, Yang Haoran asked the question on everyone’s mind.

”The Government is currently reforming education, so they are paying more attention to these official competitions, which can reflect our educational achievements.

Our Academy performed very well in this competition, and the Government has approved a sum of innovation funds for our Academy to encourage students to continue participating in competitions in the future.”

Liao Qianxin said, then praised the Academy’s teachers.

”All the teachers have worked hard this time. You will also receive bonuses this month. You need to work even harder next.”

”Next, will something happen next?”

”I also heard that at the end of the year, there will be a global Innovation Competition for Elementary Academies jointly organized by various countries, named the ’Innovation Cup’. It’s perfect for 9th-grade students to participate.”

Vice Dean Vice Principal Zhu revealed the news he had heard. Although he used an uncertain phrase like ’heard’, his tone was affirmative.

Hearing this, the teachers of each class sat up straight.

”Isn’t there another Card Innovation Competition at the end of the year? Won’t these two competitions clash?”

Ji Yun was a little confused. She had already been thinking that she would require all the students in her class to participate in the next Card Innovation Competition as well.

”Yes, then will all the students flock to the Innovation Cup, and the other competition won’t be taken seriously?”

Yang Haoran also had the same doubt.

”Not necessarily. At that time, the more capable ones can go to the Innovation Cup, and some average students can go to the Card Innovation Competition. Maybe their chances of winning an award will be higher.”

Liu Zhitao offered another perspective.

The other teachers were stunned; it seemed to make some sense.

It was Ji Yun who first thought of the loophole.

”That’s impossible. The judges won’t lower the award evaluation standards. They might even cancel the award presentation then.”

”Indeed, the judges certainly won’t lower their requirements. So, in that case, students will have to make a choice.”

”Alright, let’s not continue speculating. This Innovation Cup is not open to all students. In fact, it doesn’t have much to do with most students.

There are still some conditions for participating in the Innovation Cup:

First: Students who have been continuously enrolled in an Elementary Academy for two years;

Second: Students who have won a first prize in the Card Innovation Competition;

Third: Students who have not been held back a grade;

Fourth: Cannot change countries; must represent the country where they are studying to participate in the competition...”

Everyone listened to the long list of conditions spoken by Vice Dean Vice Principal Zhu, their mouths agape in surprise.

After a while, Wang Lang spoke up.

”This, like this, our Academy will only have two teams that can participate.”

”Currently, that’s how it looks. Also, the two competitions are not held at the same time. The Card Innovation Competition is held first, followed by the Innovation Cup a month later.

If a team wins first prize in the Card Innovation Competition at the end of the year, they can also participate in the Innovation Cup competition.”

All the teachers felt a headache coming on. This meant that students would need to prepare two cardss for the competitions at the end of the year, which increased the difficulty even more.

As if knowing everyone’s thoughts, the Dean said, ”Excellent people cannot be hidden.

Those who are hidden either mean they are not excellent enough, or they don’t want to stand out. For these people, there’s nothing we can do.”

Vice Dean Vice Principal Zhu agreed with the Dean’s point of view.

”Yes, the reason for so many requirements is also because these participating teams will represent their country. The first competition will be held in Esteria, the capital of the Luo Lan Empire.

Later, the competition might add some other requirements, and a formal notice will be issued. The reason I’m telling you this is to give the teachers a heads-up and to allow you to communicate with capable students.”

All the teachers:

”Understood.”

...

Upon arriving at the Academy, they found that it was also different from when they left. Banners were strung across the trees, and a large poster was displayed at the entrance, listing the names of the winning teams’ students.

After the Dean gave a speech from a high platform, he presented awards to each of the winning students and had them give their acceptance speeches.

After a series of events, the busy day came to an end.
