Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

112: I objectAfter that, every squad on a mission could be equipped with a sniper.

At the same time, he also thought about letting the academy specially train a batch of students who were good at shooting, not requiring them to be all-rounders, but only focusing on shooting, which would be of great use on the battlefield.

So, he gathered the commanders of each class to come and observe together.

”Old Sun, General Liu asked me to inform you to set up all the weapons that have been confirmed usable these past two days. They will be coming to observe shortly.”

Sun Puge nodded upon hearing what Assistant Liu Tianshi said.

”Everyone, please put down what you’re doing for a moment. General Liu will be bringing the commanders from each class to observe the products we’ve tested and found usable these past two days. Please help arrange them.”

”Okay.”

Everyone responded.

At the same time everyone finished arranging, Liu Tianshi brought people over.

They didn’t waste time with formalities and immediately began observing.

”This weapon is one we used before; it’s directly fitted with a scope. After adding the scope, we can indeed attack exotic beasts at a greater distance, maximizing the performance of these guns.”

Lu Shize, as the instructor who teaches shooting, was the first to give his evaluation of these weapons.

”This is a Telescope, right? I’ve heard of it before. What’s the difference between this and those sold outside?”

Wu Yunshan, the commander of Class 2, pointed at a Telescope and asked the researchers.

Hearing his question, Xu Bai stepped forward.

”This is a Telescope specially designed for the military. We’ve optimized it to withstand extreme temperatures, and its accuracy is also more precise and adjustable.”

”These behind here must be the sniper rifles General Liu mentioned, right? How effective are they?”

”Currently, they’ve only been tested on the experimental firing range, and the effect is very good. Feng Bao tested the farthest distance, hitting a target 9800 meters away.”

9800 meters!

Holy crap!

It instantly doubled the previous data.

Hearing this number, everyone gasped. A shooting range of nearly ten thousand meters was something they couldn’t have imagined before.

”Have all these weapons been tested? Approximately when can soldiers be equipped with them?”

Wang Rui, the commander of Class 4, quickly asked.

Sun Puge, as the overall person in charge of this research, said: ”Our previous basic firearms can be directly fitted with scopes. The current test results show that scopes improve shooting accuracy.

These are the new weapons we designed today. We’ve optimized their performance based on shooting distance, and the test results are also very good. The specific products to be adopted still need to be decided by the military.”

Liu Tianshi saw everyone’s satisfaction with the new products, so he put forward his idea.

”I think we can form a class based on our newly designed sniper rifle series, to be considered a special forces position, all snipers, and then Instructor Lu will serve as the commander of this class. What do you all think?”

Hearing this, the commanders’ expressions all became serious.

They initially thought that the military equipment would undergo a major overhaul, but they didn’t expect Liu Tianshi to directly make changes to the classes as well.

”I object.”

Sure enough, the first to object was Ye Yizhong, the commander of Class 1.

”I also object.”

Following closely was Yan Hongying, the commander of Class 3, who echoed.

Liu Tianshi didn’t expect that out of a total of 4 classes, people from two classes would object to his idea.

”Why? Do you think there’s something wrong with this class?”

”General Liu, you should know that historically, the armies assigned to each province only had 4 classes. If you add a class, then all personnel, allocated funds, and military equipment quantities will undergo corresponding changes.

I think each class can have a few specialized sniper personnel, but I don’t recommend setting them up as a separate class.”

Ye Yizhong said this.

”My thinking is this: within a class, each forms their own squad. Squads cooperate tacitly, which can only be achieved through training together. If shooting personnel are set up as a separate class, their team’s tacit cooperation will decrease.”

Yan Hongying then also stated her thoughts.

”I can only say that we need to cultivate well-rounded talents among soldiers, while for sniper squads, I only want to cultivate people who excel in shooting.

In that case, the training content for this group of people will be very different from that of other soldiers. If they train together, their maximum abilities cannot be developed.

After all, some people are excellent at shooting, but their other abilities are not outstanding.

Of course, we can also keep our current squads unchanged. We can select a group of people who are only good at sniping from the academy’s students and those we previously eliminated, and provide them with special training.”

Hearing Liu Tianshi’s words, the two hesitated.

”Then where will the funding come from?”

”You don’t have to worry about that. Our military has already obtained the authorization for this scope. The military side has rewarded us with a batch of funds, and I will draw some from it to train new recruits.”

”I’ve considered it, and I still need to see the actual experimental results of this weapon, General Liu. Do you think this is acceptable?

Tomorrow, each of us will select 10 people. They will use ordinary firearms with scopes and sniper rifles, respectively, and enter the Poisonous Swamp Exotic Beast Zone for hunting. Points will be added based on the level of the exotic beasts they hunt. Whichever team has more points wins. If the sniper squad wins, I will agree to your request.

After all, our current firearm data is based on the experimental firing range. We usually go to the Exotic Beast Zone for use, and I want to see real combat data.

If the sniper rifle doesn’t perform well in actual combat, I will not agree to your request.”

Ye Yizhong’s expression was serious, indicating his stance.

”I understand your concerns, but we haven’t trained snipers yet; it will take some time.”

”I can agree to you drawing out people with strong shooting abilities from each team and equipping them with scoped weapons. Most soldiers are currently unfamiliar with them, so I think they are basically at the same level.

If you still don’t agree to this, then I think there’s no need to form this class.”

”Okay, I agree to your request.”

Listening to the back-and-forth conversation between the two big figures, everyone remained silent.

After all, this was essentially a gamble.

During the initial formation, it might only require partial funding, but as the team expands, it will definitely squeeze the resources of other classes, and the interests of both sides will certainly conflict.

There is no right or wrong in this; people will always consider their own interests.

Ye Yizhong is a conservative, maintaining a balanced state under current circumstances, and he does not want to break this balance.

And the newly formed class, like a catfish, would make many things uncontrollable.

Calling it a catfish is still good; it might even be a bomb.
