Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

113: It’s all LeleLiu Tianshi was a reformist, so he often communicated with Sun Puge to upgrade weapons.

Before, he had no choice but to implement minor reforms.

This time, the sniper rifle showed him an opportunity for major change, and he wanted to make some alterations.

Because, at present, it seems that humanity is actually at a disadvantage in the struggle against the alien beasts, not as evenly matched as it appears on the surface. If things don’t change, once a situation arises, the territory where humans can operate will continuously shrink.

However, this matter cannot be explained to too many people, otherwise morale would be affected.

In fact, many high-ranking officials understood this situation and had already made some changes.

For example, increasing weapon research, restricting the sale of star energy stones, and encouraging Card Makers to create... After everyone commented on the newly researched weapons for today, they set the competition for tomorrow, and this visiting event concluded.

Everyone walked together to the cafeteria for dinner.

This time, Xu Bai also accepted the invitation and ate dinner with them.

”Lele, walk slower.”

Recently, Xu Le’s walking had become more and more proficient; he could already take many steps. However, children’s walking is like a penguin’s, waddling from side to side, but he just doesn’t fall.

Xu Le also really liked this game.

So, as soon as they arrived at the cafeteria, Xu Le asked Xu Bai to put him down; he wanted to walk by himself.

Xu Bai looked around and saw that the cafeteria wasn’t particularly crowded. Everyone was lining up orderly to eat, and there were many chairs nearby that Xu Le could hold onto to avoid falling. So, he confidently put Xu Le down and let him walk by himself.

Xu Le wasn’t a mischievous child; he walked slowly, step by step, and rested by holding onto a chair when he got tired.

However, the aroma of the food was simply too enticing.

He stopped next to a soldier, staring intently at the food on the soldier’s tray.

The soldier felt a bit embarrassed by the gaze and picked a small piece of potato from his bowl for Xu Le.

”Awoo,” Xu Le ate it in one bite, and after finishing, said ”Thank you.”

Then he walked away again, approaching another soldier and looking at the food in his bowl.

The soldiers were all very warm towards the little one, sharing their food with him.

The little one took a bite here and a bite there, eating until he was about 50% full.

The soldiers all knew that children shouldn’t eat heavily oiled or salted foods, so they only shared a little bit of plain food with him.

Xu Bai saw this and let Xu Le do as he pleased.

As Xu Le walked, he saw a table of children roughly his age and tilted his head in confusion.

He had never seen children like him before and had always thought he was the only small one.

”Brother, Lele, they are all Lele, so many Lele.”

Xu Le eagerly shared his discovery with his brother.

He even thought all children were named Lele.

Xu Bai was also very confused as to why there were children in the military camp.

”General Liu, who are they?”

Liu Tianshi followed Xu Bai’s gaze and saw the children, then said,

”Some of them are the children of our soldiers; both parents are military personnel and don’t have time to care for them. There are also some orphans of martyrs, and our army will be responsible for raising them to adulthood.

Because these children are still young and cannot attend an academy, they will stay in the army. We have special areas for them to play and dedicated personnel to look after them.”

Xu Bai was silent for a moment after hearing what he said.

He was very grateful to these soldiers for allowing him to live in a peaceful environment.

It was these people who, with their lives, built a wall between humanity and the alien beasts.

He also wanted to do something for these children.

Suddenly, he thought that he could donate some things for the children to play with.

”General Liu, can I donate some things for these children?”

”We don’t mind. You can donate directly to our military district’s daycare, that way, any child who wants to play can directly play.”

”Okay.”

That evening, he would buy some suitable toys for children from General Manager Fang.

Seeing that his brother wasn’t paying attention to him, Lele walked over to his brother, tugged at his coattails, and pulled him towards that direction.

So, Xu Bai followed his pull and walked that way.

”Brother, they are all Lele.”

”No, they are not Lele. You are Lele.”

”Then what are they? Not Lele.”

”Brother doesn’t know what they’re called either. Let’s ask.”

Then Xu Bai greeted the children.

”Hello everyone, I’m Xu Bai, and this is Xu Le. It’s nice to meet you.”

These children were already very happy to see Xu Le, their new little friend, and were chattering excitedly.

However, they were still quite reserved in response to Xu Bai’s greeting.

At this moment, a bold child replied,

”Hello, I’m Wang Hui. He’s so small, how old is he?”

Hearing one little one call another little one small, Xu Le found it very amusing.

”He’s one and a half years old. How about you, little Wang Hui?”

”I’m three years old. I’m their leader. Does he want to join us?”

”Lele, do you want to join them?”

”Yes.” Xu Le was very happy, feeling like he had found his little friends.

”Can we join you?” Hearing Xu Le’s reply, Xu Bai asked the children.

”You’re an adult, you should eat with the adults. We’re little people, little people eat together.”

”Alright then, Lele, I’ll entrust him to your care.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of him.”

After entrusting Xu Le to little Wang Hui, Xu Bai walked back to his seat to eat.

The two aunties supervising the children did not speak, letting the children decide for themselves.

Seeing Xu Bai return, Wang Rui said, ”You’re back, aren’t you? I said Xu Bai would definitely come back.”

”Hahahaha, yes, yes, yes. You tell me, did you teach your son to do that?”

Wu Yunshan said as he took a sip of soup.

Xu Bai had just sat down when he heard their conversation and asked,

”Commander Wang, Wang Hui is your child!”

”Yes, he’s my youngest son.”

”Oh, I see.”

”Are you trying to say he doesn’t resemble Commander Wang at all? Commander Wang is dark and thin, while Wang Hui is short and plump.”

Liu Tianshi voiced Xu Bai’s inner confusion.

Perhaps because this was said often, he immediately saw Xu Bai’s doubt.

This remark made the others at the table laugh, and even the usually serious Ye Yizhong curved his lips into a smile.

”Hmph, you’re just jealous of me, jealous that I raised my child to be fair and plump. My mom says he’s exactly like I was when I was little. He’ll grow up to be tall and thin.”

”Just don’t turn dark,” Wu Yunshan teased Wang Rui.

”Hahahahahahaha”
