25: Eat noodles”Lele, we’re going home to sleep tonight. I’ll make you noodles for dinner. Do you like them?”

Although Xu Le didn’t know what noodles were, he knew what eating was. So, he happily bounced around, saying, ”Eat, eat.”

”Yes, eat. Lele is hungry too, right?”

”Yes, yes.”

Amidst this back-and-forth, Xu Bai quickened his pace home.

”Fugui, hurry, catch up, let’s go home!”

Fugui, the dog, happily wagged his tail and caught up with the person in front of him.

After returning home, Xu Bai took the child and the dog straight to the bathroom.

He first wiped Fugui’s paws and then let him out to drink water.

Then, he simply wiped away the sweat from Xu Le’s face and back to prevent him from catching a cold later.

Once that was done, Xu Bai immediately began preparing everyone’s dinner.

The first to be prepared was Fugui’s dinner, which consisted of dog food with added chicken freeze-dried, beef jerky, egg yolk, and so on. He ate quite well.

After that, it was time to prepare dinner for Xu Bai and Xu Le. Since the child was eating baby noodles and Xu Bai was eating regular thin noodles, he used two pots to cook them simultaneously.

After the water in the pot boiled, he reduced the heat from high to medium-low, added the diced carrots, and cooked them for three to four minutes. Because they were quite hard, they needed to be softer. Xu Bai planned to cook the baby’s portion even longer, then mash them into a purée to prevent choking.

Once cooked, the noodles could be added. At this point, the chopsticks couldn’t be idle; they needed to gently stir the water to prevent the noodles from sticking together and forming clumps.

After the noodles had cooked for a bit, it was time to add other ingredients to the pot.

In the small pot, he added tomato chunks and small green vegetables, then poured in the egg liquid.

In the large pot, Xu Bai added two sliced ham sausages and also some green vegetables. As for eggs, he certainly wouldn’t shortchange himself; he fried three eggs before cooking.

Haha, you read that right, it was three. Eggs are truly delicious; you never get tired of them, and as an adult, you can eat as many as you want.

After adding everything, he covered the pots and continued to cook for about three to four minutes. Both pots of noodles were ready.

It’s important to note that no seasonings should be added to the small pot; for children, plain is healthier.

Xu Bai blew on the noodles on his chopsticks, then brought them to his lips to test the temperature. Once it was just right, he fed them to Xu Le, who was already hungry and had opened his mouth early.

”Isn’t what brother made very good? Does Lele like noodles?”

Xu Le didn’t answer, so Xu Bai continued speaking on his own.

”Hmm, smiling so happily, he must like them.”

”After one bite of noodles, we can’t be picky, okay? Next, let’s have a bite of vegetables, ah~”

Xu Le obediently opened his mouth and ate the green vegetable fed to him.

Is raising a child always like this? Even though you know the other person might not understand, and can’t really talk yet, you still say all sorts of things and even answer your own questions.

After patiently feeding the little child and the old dog, Xu Bai finally ate his own dinner. With one bite, he felt today’s fatigue vanish.

After eating, Xu Bai took Xu Le to take a bath together, washing away the stickiness from their bodies. Feeling refreshed, they went to bed... That night, in a printing workshop, workers bundled up the printed newspapers. These were the daily newspapers for Z Province. After printing, they would be sent overnight from Xingyao City to newspaper stands in various cities of Z Province, so people could see them first thing in the morning.
