Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

8: lunchIt was already noon in the shop.

It was time for lunch.

He had only eaten a piece of bread for breakfast, not because he was reluctant to buy from a breakfast shop on the way, but mainly because he woke up late and missed breakfast time, and the breakfast shop had already sold out.

As for money, Xu Bai currently wasn’t short of any. Besides the 1.5 million yuan specifically saved for his younger brother on another cards, the cash he could access included the 1 million yuan in compensation, plus his parents’ savings after deducting funeral expenses, and the rent from the student tenants this month. All in all, he had over 1.8 million yuan.

The food was ordered from the shop next door: braised pork, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, and spicy and sour shredded potatoes. These were all home-style dishes, but anyone who could run a restaurant usually had some skill, so these dishes were excellent in color, aroma, and taste.

Xu Bai’s stomach was already growling. After arranging Xu Le’s lunch, he eagerly laid out the freshly delivered dishes one by one.

He didn’t stand on ceremony and immediately began to gobble down the food from the lunchboxes.

“Mmm~ delicious. The meat is really chunky.”

“These shredded potatoes are very crisp and refreshing. Eating them in summer is really appetizing. I can have them again tomorrow.”

Xu Le sat next to Xu Bai, sucking milk from his bottle, but his big, round eyes were fixed on his brother Xu Bai’s lunchbox.

The lunchbox contained a rich variety of dishes, and the aroma, unable to be contained, permeated the entire shop. The little guy, smelling this scent, unconsciously stopped drinking milk, and the bottle in his hand was already set down beside him.

As he watched, drool slowly dripped from the corner of the little guy’s mouth, from his chin to the bib around his neck, and then to his chest. His mouth moved in sync, as if he was eating with his brother.

Xu Bai finished eating and looked up, only then noticing his younger brother Xu Le’s fixed gaze. He found it somewhat amusing and frustrating.

The little guy’s drool had formed a long stream, but Xu Bai didn’t dare to feed such a small child heavy, oily, or salty foods. He could only wipe away his drool and carry him around the shop.

He needed to distract the child first, otherwise, even if he offered him milk now, he wouldn’t be willing to drink it.

Sure enough, when the little guy couldn’t see the food, and the smell of the meal in the air slowly faded, Xu Le’s drool stopped flowing.

He looked at the things in the shop while in his brother’s arms. Something caught his interest, and he giggled.

After a round of walking, Xu Bai put the unfinished milk bottle back into Xu Le’s hand, and the little guy continued to gulp down the milk.

After eating his fill, the little guy was sleepy. The dog, Fugui, had already fallen asleep on the steps.

“Sleep now~”

Xu Bai carried Xu Le to his small bed, covered him with the blanket he had brought that morning, and patted him for a while until Xu Le was fast asleep. Then, he returned to the counter, waiting for the next customer to arrive.

Although some cardss were sold today, they were all common ones. Of the new cardss made yesterday, only Aunt Wang bought two, leaving eight cardss still in the cabinet.

Xu Bai summarized the reasons for the poor sales: first, many people were unwilling to go out in the summer, and perhaps more people would come when it cooled down in the afternoon; second, the target customers were not there, as mothers would buy these; third, this product was still new, and not many people knew about it.

So Xu Bai planned to introduce it more when there were more people. He didn’t know that someone was already going to promote his product for him.
