Different World Card Master: Change the World with Cards

17: Eat breakfastThe next morning, the sun hung early in the sky, scorching the earth, and the cicadas of summer chirped incessantly.

It was much hotter today than yesterday; perhaps only the cicadas truly welcomed summer.

Fang Mu, covered in sweat, climbed out of bed, tidied his messy hair from the night, and opened his eyes.

Instead of going directly to the bathroom to wash up, he opened the door and walked out.

“Bang bang bang!” “Bang bang bang!”

Knocking sounds rang out, followed by replies of “I’m already up” from inside the two doors, only then did Fang Mu turn and return to his own room.

First, he brushed his teeth, then took off his sweat-drenched clothes, took a cold shower, and washed his face. One good thing about summer was not needing to heat water; he could shower anytime during the day.

After everything was ready, Fang Mu opened his door again, but the two slow-moving people still hadn’t come out.

He could only knock on their doors again, making sure they hadn’t fallen back asleep.

It was a good thing their rooms were next to each other; otherwise, Fang Mu would have to run around knocking on doors to wake them up, and he’d get all sweaty again.

“I’m going to buy breakfast. Let’s meet downstairs. You two hurry up, or we’ll be late.”

The two inside the doors replied:

“Okay, don’t worry, I’ll be ready soon.”

“Okay, I’ll be ready very soon too.”

Hearing their replies, Fang Mu went downstairs to buy breakfast.

From a distance, he saw several people already lined up at the breakfast shop entrance. Fang Mu quickly joined the end of the line.

The boss was very fast at packing, and in a few minutes, it was Fang Mu’s turn.

“Boss, I’d like six tofu buns, three tea eggs, and three bags of soy milk.”

Fang Mu skillfully listed the three people’s breakfast order.

“Young man, there are only two tofu buns left. Would you like to change the other four?”

The auntie holding the buns smiled apologetically.

Fang Mu hesitated for a moment. The specialty of this shop was its tofu buns, which were truly delicious, and all three of them liked them.

However, they often sold out. The other flavored buns were also good, but not as good as the tofu buns.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through Fang Mu’s mind.

Two tofu buns couldn’t be evenly divided among three people. To avoid damaging their brotherhood, it was better for him to eat them himself. That way, he would have two tofu buns, and the other two could eat meat buns.

“Then change the other four to meat buns.”

“Alright, here you go, young man, take them carefully.”

Taking the breakfast, Fang Mu picked out the tofu buns and started eating them as he walked, a smile on his face. He didn’t know if he was smiling because he was eating his favorite tofu buns, or because his brothers wouldn’t be able to eat the delicious tofu buns.

When Zhao Zixuan and Li Baoyu saw Fang Mu, Fang Mu had just finished his last bun and was drinking soy milk.

The two took their breakfast and began to eat heartily.

“Brother, were there no tofu buns again this morning? How come I feel like I smell tofu buns?”

Li Baoyu said, sniffing his nose, as if trying to find the source of the smell.

Fang Mu’s heart skipped a beat. He could smell that? Weren’t only tongues sensitive? Why was his nose so sensitive too?

Fortunately, Fang Mu was accustomed to keeping a straight face, and his expression didn’t betray any guilt.

“Is there? It must be your imagination. All the buns are together; the smell is just the dough. Hurry up and finish, let’s go to the academy, or we’ll be late.”

After hearing Fang Mu’s reply, Li Baoyu didn’t dwell on it and continued eating his breakfast.

Soon after, the three finished eating and walked together towards the academy across the street.
