Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1188: The Faithful

”Of course, to ’ascend,’ and I made it happen!”

The Myth of Reverend’s words sounded casual and felt merciful as if he was really doing the Myth of White Swordsman a favor, yet for this exact eerie reason, the Myth of Oracle and Coalition Master didn’t dare to underestimate the Myth of Reverend.

”Furthermore,” The Myth of Reverend suddenly spoke, putting on a pained expression, ”you guys have no idea just how high a price I have to pay to complete brother White Swordsman’s wish. Yet for a fellow myth who had been nothing but loyal and upright with me, this much is nothing.”

He then looked towards the Myth of Oracle and Coalition Master with a sincere expression as he declared gallantly, ”With this, you both fellow myths should have a pretty good idea about my loyal and impeccable nature towards those I deem worthy of my respect.”

”I have had enough of your paltry talks!” The Coalition Master ragefully retorted, making the entire hall rumble under his voice, ”Just tell me what you want from us? Or do you really believe I can’t take you on just because you have a ’God’ behind you?”

The Myth of Reverend’s smile suddenly twisted ever so slightly when the Coalition Master mentioned ’God,’ while realization seemed to have dawned on Myth of Oracle as she looked at the Myth of Reverend with profound enmity.

”What? Do you really think I won’t be able to figure out the origin of the ’ritual’ you just used?” The Coalition Master’s voice echoed with extreme derision.

But in an unsettling way, unlike someone whose secret had been exposed, the Myth of Reverend didn’t seem shocked or afraid in the slightest; instead, his friendly smile widened.

”Hahaha, fellow myth, I wasn’t trying to hide it from you at all.” He confidently declared in an amiable tone, ”Trust me, from the start to finish, I have no intention to hide my humble origin as a ’Faithful’ from you at all, for you are like me a ’Faithful’.”

At that moment, the mist around the Coalition Master’s silhouette churned violently, and the colossal silhouette started to emit killing intent, making everything in the mystical hall seem pitch-black.

”Who are you exactly?”

This time, the Coalition Master’s voice wasn’t majestic and heavy, but completely different; yet this voice was far more striking and filled with blood-curdling killing intent.

But the Myth of Reverend remained the same as ever, as if he hadn’t just touched some dangerous taboo, and his friendly and approachable smile didn’t dim in the least bit as he replied with an innocent expression.

”Oh, come on, fellow myth, I’ve already introduced myself. And let’s be honest, as a Faithful, I can sense that lingering ’Divine Energy’ on you, no matter what kind of ’state’ you are in.

”Furthermore, it was the Myth of Justice who had told me about her doubt that you were another ’Faithful’ since she was also one of ’us’.

”Nonetheless, Myth of Justice has her own difficulties in realizing her own heart, so her attainment in the Path of Faith had been staggered for a long time. However, I’m different from Myth of Justice, so I can sense it clearly.”

He seriously stated, ”Furthermore, isn’t it because you also sense the ’Divine Energy’ from the Godly Faith Nectar I used to fulfill brother White Swordsman’s wish that you were able to be so sure about me?

”Although I have to admit I wasn’t expecting you to take so long, I guess it’s probably because of your current ’situation’ am I, right? Or it could be that you just guessed it since you know better than anyone that to counter the Divine Energy, you need Divine Energy.”

At this point, the Myth of Reverend seemed to be thinking out loud, but his words caused chaos in the minds of Myth of Oracle and Coalition Master.

A ’Faithful’ was a status given to the most loyal and powerful followers of the Faith Gods, and their statuses were far higher than ordinary believers of the Faith God, for they could gain profound knowledge, receive blessings, and even use the superficial authority of their patron Faith Gods.

Moreover, those who could become ’Faithful’ were destined to become powerful beings under their patron Faith Gods, and their future path would be carved out for them with no bottlenecks.

But the positions of ’Faithful’ always depend on the Faith God’s own prowess, and creating a ’Faithful’ wasn’t easy either, since they are considered a part of the Faith God’s authority, and if something happened to them, it would directly affect their patron Faith God.

Apparently, the stronger a ’Faithful’ becomes, the more they can access the Faithful God’s authority, and similarly, the Faithful God will also become stronger. That’s why there was an even ranking of the Faithful.

Anyhow, the Myth of Reverend had easily unraveled the Coalition Master’s biggest secret, and on top of that, he wasn’t far from the truth either, and the most terrifying aspect about all of this was that they still knew nothing about the former except for him being a ’Faithful’.

Moreover, from what he just revealed, even the Myth of Justice couldn’t see through the Coalition Master’s status as the ’Faithful’ because of his peculiar situation, and could only guess about his origin in the past.

Yet the Myth of Reverend confidently declared and without any intention of keeping it to himself at all, which could mean that he was an extremely powerful Faithful, who didn’t fear any Quasi-Myth in the Legendary Plains unless they were similar to him.

Nonetheless, the Coalition Master wasn’t easy to deal with either, especially as long as they were still within the Coalition Pagoda. Even if the Myth of Reverend was powerful, he wouldn’t be able to do anything to the Coalition Master, nor the latter to the former. Probably the Myth of Reverend knows it as well after he appeared here.

At that moment, the chaotic silhouette of the Coalition Master returned to normal as he spoke in his heavy voice, ”Alright, what exactly do you want from the Mythical Coalition Myth of Reverend?”

”Hahaha, I know we can see past our differences.” Myth of Reverend jovially stated as his smile turned deep, ”I’m sure brother White Swordsman has already told you about my divine mission. But it’s not going as smoothly as I thought. With all the myths going missing or ’ascended’, I’m the only one remaining.

”I’ll be frank with you, as another humble Faithful, I think there’s something that has been playing your Mythical Coalition and my Secret Fraternity from the shadows to achieve their own objectives.

”And now that they have gotten rid of my Secret Fraternity, they are probably coming after the Mythical Coalition. Good news for you, after going through this ordeal, I’ve figured out who they are...”

The Coalition Master clearly didn’t believe Myth of Reverend, yet decided to play along, ”Who?”

The Myth of Reverend’s vertical pupils flashed with a venomous glint at this moment as he stated, ”It’s ATLAS!”
