Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1184: The Myth of Oracle (2)

The Myth of White Swordsman almost let his emotions show under the Myth of Oracle’s scrutiny, but right at that moment, an ethereal sigil in the depths of his soul flickered profoundly, and he regained his calm.

He expressed, while pretending to be under duress, ”I know Lady Oracle might not be able to completely trust me after today, but I’m here with absolute sincerity, and want to make amends for my previous selfishness because my own life is threatened and I can only turn to the Mythical Coalition.”

The Myth of Oracle seemed to be on alert when she heard the last part and inquired solemnly, ”Oh, what could’ve threatened your life, fellow myth? Perhaps the Secret Fraternity? Or something related to it? I can’t help you if you don’t tell me everything.”

The White Swordsman nodded in understanding as he said, ”It is indeed as Lady Oracle just stated. However, the threat is not from the Secret Fraternity, but from their target, the Cursed One!

”Recently, the Secret Fraternity gained news about the whereabouts of the Cursed One and sent two Quasi-Myths after him. They were supposed to only scout the location and then report back.

”However, once they reached the location, they met with an accident, and since then, they have been missing, or presumably dead. I recently got this news from the last standing member of the Secret Fraternity.”

Although the Myth of Oracle remained unreadable, inwardly she was startled when she heard of the disappearance of two Quasi-Myths, which wasn’t some small matter.

Previously, she and the Coalition Master had thought that the ’Cursed One’ the Secret Fraternity was after was probably some extraordinary individual, or had something the Upper Plains wanted on him.

But even then, since this person was still within the Legendary Plains, he should be within the limitation of the Legendary Plains, and with so many Quasi-Myths going after him, he won’t be able to resist or be forced into hiding if not captured.

Yet, their assumption about this ’Cursed One’ seemed to be only superficial, and he’s more powerful than they had assumed him to be.

’Could it be the early incident with the Myth of Secrets, and the Myth of Justice, as well as the Champion King, is also related to the Cursed One?’ The Myth of Oracle couldn’t help but think, but she hadn’t brought up this topic yet.

Instead, she played it cool and said, ”This is indeed no ordinary matter. But you still didn’t make it clear how it threatened your life and how we can help you in this?”

The White Swordsman seemed to be expecting exactly this kind of question and replied without missing a beat, ”Actually, as I just mentioned, now only a single Quasi-Myth has remained in the Secret Fraternity, and if you include me, then two, but now I don’t want to have anything to do with them.

”However, the Upper Plains is behind this person, and he has connections way beyond our dreams, and he’s also the founder of the Secret Fraternity. But this is also the main reason he can’t simply abandon this mission; otherwise, he’ll offend his backers.

”That’s why, having no choice, he told me, as long as we can complete the other task, the Upper Plains might not blame him for the Cursed One.”

”The other task?” The Myth of Oracle seemed to have thought of something as she insinuated, ”Are you talking about the Legendary Master Key?”

”Yes!” The White Swordsman promptly nodded, ”Apparently, he has discovered the location of the Legendary Master Key, but it seemed he couldn’t do it alone.”

The Myth of Oracle nodded as if realizing what the Myth of White Swordsman was worried about, ”So, he wants you to go with him, but you won’t completely trust this, right? Is that what threatened your life?”

But unexpectedly, the Myth of White Swordsman shook his head and said something out of the Myth of Oracle’s expectation, ”No, my life is in danger because of the Upper Plains involvement, as they already know about me. If it were just that, I wouldn’t be afraid of them since they can’t come out here and do anything to me.

”However, the Legendary Master Key can open a way directly to the Upper Plains, without any Mythical Ascension Bridge or Ascension Permits, so I’m completely unwilling to give up on this chance since I’ll die in a few thousand years anyway.

”That’s why I want to clinch this chance even if it’s a long shot, I’ll gladly risk my life for it because aren’t all of us Quasi-Myths working to achieve that mythical realm?”

A terrifying resolution without any hint of falsehood swirled in the White Swordsman’s eyes when he said the last sentence, for that was really what he wanted and his reason for living.

Even the Myth of Oracle was moved because no matter what her true purpose or background was, she also wanted to achieve that realm, which was impossible within the boundaries of the Legendary Palins.

Moreover, she had already confirmed this information about the Legendary Master Key when the White Swordsman was under their spell, and if they could really get their hands on it, this would also be greatly useful to her and the Coalition Master.

The White Swordsman knows it was this moment that will decide the success of his task given by the Myth of Reverend.

He continued, ”Actually, the last standing Quasi-Myth didn’t want to take any chance with this task, and there’s no room for error anymore.

”That’s why he wants to seek help from the Mythical Coalition and work together to get the Legendary Master Key. In return, he agrees to let every Quasi-Myth of the Mythical Coalition into the Upper Plains while he’ll keep the Legendary Master Key.”

The moment the White Swordsman was done, the pentagram on the Myth of Oracle’s mask suddenly revolved while flickering in an ethereal light.

She said, her voice was impassive yet icy, ”Forgive me, fellow myth, but it seemed we required the Coalition Master’s presence to make a decision!”

Just as the Myth of Oracle’s voice trailed off, the giant throne of the Coalition Master started to shine!
