Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1153: Where to Run? (2)

Reaching his own conclusion, Whiteness’s expression twisted with part awe and part malice.

However, he didn’t spring into action right away as he continued to observe the strange unified movements of the entire forest.

Although he couldn’t fully summarize what was going on, he could tell that whatever was happening, the ’heretic’ should be the one behind it, and that portal led to his target.

However, Whiteness instinctively hesitates to enter that portal because he cannot detect danger or see through it, which makes the Higher God, who is currently not at full capacity, vigilant.

He was hoping for the ’heretic’ to come out so he could avoid this risk, but he was going to be disappointed because, after a while, below him, the last of Autarch’s puppets vanished into Infinite Space at this moment.

Whiteness’s expression twisted with a hint of panic as he saw the portal begin to close; he remained where he was, unseen, untouched, yet profoundly shaken.

’I’m one of the Higher Gods under the Supreme One’s command; how could I be afraid of some heretic’s tricks who isn’t even a ’God’ yet!?’ Whiteness thought as he binds his resolve.

The next moment, he vanished from his hiding spot, and just as the portal to the infinite space was about to vanish, a hint of white flash pulsed, and with that, everything returned to normal.

However, the once-dreaded forest, filled with poisonous races and exotic poisons, has turned into a desolate, barren wilderness, and there is less than a 50% chance of it returning to its former glory in tens of thousands of years, if not millions.

Inside the Infinite Space, order reigned.

However, not the kind forged by harmony, but the kind imposed by absolute authority as countless puppets stood gathered in vast concentric formations, stretching beyond conventional distance.

Mountains of resources were piled with surgical precision, venom cores stacked like crystalline pyramids, ancient bones arranged into lattice-like arrays, ores humming faintly with suppressed spirituality, treasures sealed within floating sigils, and precious natural treasures that once demanded rivers of blood now lay silent and obedient.

The Infinite Space itself accommodated everything without leaving a sliver behind.

At the forefront, Jacob stood motionless, having finally made an appearance after receiving Autarch’s message about the finalization of the ’migration,’ wanting to see for himself what Autarch had achieved alone.

His skeletal frame was still, his flaming eyes calm, reflecting the scene without greed, excitement, or satisfaction. It was as though this overwhelming harvest, enough to ignite wars across the Legendary Plains, was nothing more than a routine accounting to him.

After all, in this short time, he had witnessed something terrifying, and after that, Jacob no longer felt any excitement about these treasures, as he already knew, without strength, that they were worthless. Not to mention, this level of treasures no longer interests him.

Beside him stood Autarch, still wearing the Lamia Queen’s body, posture straight, head slightly lowered, emerald eyes unwavering.

Jacob observed the final convergence for a moment longer before he spoke, his voice flat and impassive.

”You did well. Have them all move to the tower. We can use all the helping hands we can get.”

Autarch didn’t hesitate for even a fraction of a breath as she ordered, and behind her invisible strings trembled, ”As per your command, sir.”

The gathered puppets moved as one, splitting into flawless streams that flowed toward the towering silhouette of the Mechanized Sovereign Tower in the distance. Even the Infinite Space subtly adjusted its structure, pathways forming where none had existed before, as if reality itself was assisting in the execution of Jacob’s will.

Jacob raised his hand, and at that moment, the portal leading back to the Serpent Abyss Forest began to collapse, its edges folding inward, sealing the Middle Plains away like a closed wound.

That was when Jacob’s eyes flickered. Before it was subtle, so subtle that no one else noticed.

But Jacob stopped, a hint of astonishment igniting in his eyes because others might not feel anything; he, as the owner of the Infinite Space, as its absolute ruler, felt it clearly and instantly acted.

The next moment, the Infinite Space responded instantly, freezing in a state of suspended anticipation.

Jacob’s gaze sharpened, his expression unchanged, yet the cold intent behind his eyes deepened.

”...It seems a rat has snuck in with your puppets, and since he entered at the very last moment, it’s obvious that he’s been hiding and waiting for this exact moment. Their stealth skills are probably stronger than yours, or they are using some kind of treasure. But it doesn’t matter...”

Autarch’s pupils constricted imperceptibly when she heard an intruder had snuck into Jacob’s domain by taking advantage of her puppets, and killing intent rose from her very soul as this was nothing short of humiliating.

But before she could respond, Jacob merely flickered his bone finger, and the Infinite Space trembled, not violently, but reverently, as if acknowledging a superior presence asserting ownership.

Jacob’s voice echoed, no longer confined to sound alone, as he declared coldly, ”I should commend you for your courage. However, even if you are a Quasi-Myth with the support of a Quasi-Myth Rank treasure, if you think you can keep yourself hidden, then you have no idea where you have dared to intrude. Show yourself!”

The moment the words fell, the Infinite Space came alive.

Invisible layers peeled back. Distance folded inward. Abstract vectors twisted as if grasped by unseen hands. The very concept of concealment was seized and inverted.

The next moment, something was dragged out, but it wasn’t summoned or revealed; instead, it was extracted!

Space convulsed, and a small figure was violently expelled, crashing onto the ground before Jacob in a silent burst of distorted stillness.

The Infinite Space instantly stabilized, returning to its mystical state.

But when Jacob saw the small figure, for the first time since his return, he froze.

Before him stood a childlike figure, barefoot, porcelain-skinned, with pure-white hair cascading like frozen light. His eyes, entirely white, without iris or pupil, were wide with disbelief.

In his hand, he still clutched a white hexagon.

An object so unnervingly still that it seemed disconnected from all known spectrums of existence. No light, no darkness, only white, and within it, strong ripples moved like desert sands beneath an unseen storm.

This child was none other than Whiteness!
