Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1174: Nightmare Eater! (1)

”Well...” Nyx clearly hesitated as she could already tell Jacob was too invested in anything related to Whiteness, but she couldn’t hide anything from him either because it was useless.

”...the thing is, this degenerate God’s Dreamscape Realm is too massive for me to devour in a short span of time. Furthermore, if not because of your seal, I won’t even be able to touch his terrifying soul, much less infiltrate and plant the Nightmare Conqueror Seed.

”Although I succeed without any difficulty, it still won’t change the fact that I need to devour a God’s Dreamscape Realm while I’m still not even a Mythical Being. That’s why the time I needed to fully digest this guy’s Dreamscape Realm is too long, and the same goes for nurturing Nightmare Sepsis Fruit!”

Realization dawned on Jacob at that moment as he understood what Nyx was implying.

With a thoughtful look, he inquired, ”How long exactly do you need?”

”As long as he remained in this sealed state, around 5,000 years, and then probably 10,000 years for nurturing Nightmare Sepsis Fruit!” Nyx replied in a grim tone, ”Moreover, I might directly start evolving into Adolescence-Class once I devour his Dreamscape Realm. I can feel it.

”Which also means, I can only create Nightmare Sepsis Fruit after I evolve, and the duration of my evolution isn’t clear either, especially into an Adolescence-Class Nightmare, which held huge significance for me as I’ve already told you before.”

Jacob’s eyes contracted with astonishment as even he hadn’t expected 5,000 years to simply devour Whiteness’s lifespan, and then another 10,000 years to create the Nightmare Sepsis Fruit.

’So that’s how powerful a Higher Law God’s Dreamscape Realm can be? Moreover, Nyx just said if he wasn’t in the sealed state, then it would be impossible to get anything out of him.’ Jacob mused grimly, ’But 15,000 years are too long for someone like me, or even longer once Nyx started to evolve. Even if I forget about the Nightmare Sepsis Fruit, there’s still 5,000 years left.

’Or I can simply isolate myself within the Infinite Space, and be completely focused on researching everything that I’ve planned, especially the Void Ichor. Moreover, in these thousands of years, those guys might give up searching for me and think I’ve fled to the Upper Plains.’

Jacob was truly considering whether he should really isolate himself for at least 5,000 years in the Infinite Space, if not for over 15,000 years, especially when he thought about those three UGS heirs, especially Immortal Nimrod, relentlessly searching for him.

But there was a huge problem between Jacob and his grand plan...

_____

-Lifespan: 10,450 Years (All Youthful)

_____

A hint of bloodlust burns in Jacob’s eyes when he thought about how dangerously low he was running on lifespan right now, after he used 1.4 million years to escaped Destin Saint and Immortal Nimrod’s ambush and teleported directly to where Autarch had been, and just now he burned another 100,050 years to be to exact to used the Scales of Infinity to sealed Whiteness!

’If I fall into a similar situation with Immortal Nimrod or Destin Saint, or run into another ’God’, I’ll definitely not be able to escape death!’

Jacob felt a chill running down his spine, and his survival instinct kicked in when he realized how dangerous his current situation had become.

He finally spoke in a grave tone, ”How much lifespan will we get from the Void Mantis? Is it worth spending 5,000 years?”

”With this size of Dreamscape Realm, it’s definitely worth it!” Nyx exclaimed with a hint of excitement, ”If I’m not wrong, with this size of Dreamscape Realm, this guy probably has a lifespan of around 100,000 million years, so you can imagine the huge return we’ll get in 5,000 years!”

Jacob was startled, then his eyes burned with joy because just as Nyx had said, waiting just 5,000 years for tens of millions of lifespans was worth it.

”Well, you’d better start to devour his Dreamscape Realm then!” Jacob ordered without hesitation.

But at that moment, Nyx said something completely unexpected, ”Well, there’s another way, and if you succeed in it, you’ll not only get his lifespan but also his memories in a short amount of time, depending on how important you placed on this Void Mantis. Not only that, but I’ll be able to completely focus on Nightmare Plan as well and get my evolution all the same!”

Jacob was startled as he asked curiously, ”What are you talking about?”

”Hmph, I knew it! You’ve completely forgotten about it!” Nyx scoffed, clearly displeased and indignant with Jacob.

Jacob’s eyes flickered coldly, and Nyx instantly sensed that Jacob wasn’t in the mood to banter with her and became obedient.

”When I reached the Pubescent Class, didn’t I tell you that as my Nightmare Contractor, you have also awakened the ability called the Nightmare Eater!” Nyx reminded him with a hint of exasperation.

Jacob’s eyes flickered with surprise as he had some recollection of Nyx telling him about this ’Nightmare Eater’ ability when she evolved back then, and just as she had mentioned, he had really forgotten about it.

However, it wasn’t Jacob’s fault either because he was simply too absorbed in figuring out his own abilities and powers, not to mention that Nyx wasn’t the source of his power, but Cursed Immortality!

That’s why he never truly focused on Nightmare Eater, which he got from Nyx, because this ability seemed to require his full attention, and Nyx could do everything mentioned in this ability herself, so he never explored it.

But now Nyx had suddenly brought this ability up, for the first time, Jacob took it seriously because of what Nyx had just told him.

”I’m listening!”

Nyx wanted to berate Jacob for his negligence, but refrained from doing so because, in truth, she always felt the Nightmare Eater was too ’limited’ for someone like Jacob’s standards and never mentioned it despite feeling somewhat sad about Jacob forgetting about it.

But now, she knew this was her chance to make Jacob realized how powerful and resourceful she could be and he shouldn’t look down on powers too much, and gain his...attention!
