Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1175: Nightmare Eater! (2)

Now that Nyx has Jacob’s full attention, she doesn’t dare to disappoint him and start telling him about her scheme, ”Let me remind you first about the Nightmare Eater, since it seemed to have been ’slipped’ from your mind.

”With the Nightmare Eater, you can infiltrate anyone’s Dreamscape Realm, create illusions, or cause a target’s soul to degenerate. Once the target’s soul is greatly affected by you, you can then devour the target’s dreamscape realm and absorb their entire soul vitality or lifespan, just like me.

”However, unlike me, not only will you require Soul Force to keep this ability active, especially if the target’s soul is powerful, but the target will die once you’re done. Oh, and I’ll also get 50% of whatever you devour, and you can only target a single victim at a time, which requires your entire focus.”

Jacob’s eyes flickered as he finally remembered the Nightmare Eater ability, but he couldn’t think of what Nyx was trying to imply.

”I don’t have a problem with sharing my gain with you since we’ve been doing it for a long time now.” Jacob calmly stated, ”But I don’t want him dead in dead. So, how do you suggest I get his memories using Nightmare Eater?

”Moreover, I’m no longer willing to take a chance with abilities that could only extract random memories because I’m going to be required to have his whole memory sets just so I won’t miss anything important, for it is also very important to our survival!”

”Whole memory set?” Nyx grimaced and muttered, ”It might be difficult.”

”But it’s possible?” Jacob was astounded by the unexpected comment, growing even more intrigued by what exactly Nyx was planning.

”Well, the thing is, if you’re willing to completely focus on this Void Mantis, then once you start using the Nightmare Eater, you can’t simply devour his entire Dreamscape Realm from the get-go and then refine or digest it like some supplement.

”Since you have never done it before, you don’t know, but once you infiltrate someone’s Dreamscape Realm, you’ll be entering their most vulnerable part of mind, something you also call ’Sub-consciousness’.

”Normally, the mind of any being who hadn’t awakened their ’Soul Force’ or those below the rank of Quasi-Legend couldn’t protect their ’Dreamscape Realms’ unless they are born with unique talents, or possess powerful soul defenses.

”As for those in the Quasi-Legend, and Legendary Rank beings, they started to unlock the potential of their souls, which also helps them gain some control over their Dreamscape Realm, yet not full control, just enough to give them some abilities to protect their minds from infiltrations and attacks.

”However, all of this is nothing to ’ME’ because of the unique origin that makes me able to manipulate souls as no one else could; it all comes to me naturally. So, I can do as I please, even if someone could get control of their full Dreamscape Realm or Soul, as long as they aren’t ridiculously stronger than me, I can play them like fiddles!”

Nyx’s voice carried absolute arrogance when she stated that, and Jacob knew better than anyone that she could back up that arrogance hundreds of times more!

”However, even if you’re my Nightmare Contractor, you’ll still need to experience and learn all of this, but knowing you, you’ll learn it all very quickly, especially because you are my Nightmare Contractor, which allowed you to also share some of my talent in Dreamscapes and Soul Laws!”

Nyx confidently declared, secretly watching Jacob’s emotions to see if he was pleased with her, or if he had finally realized her importance and might start treating her more kindly.

Jacob was really surprised, as he had never paid too much attention to being a ’Nightmare Contractor’ and always thought of Nyx as a tool to harvest lifespan. As for learning from Nyx about her talent, it didn’t even occur to him because his own abilities were powerful, and Nyx could take care of ’dream’ related matters herself.

Yet, now for the first time since Nyx had focused him in contract with her, he started to look at all of this in a new light, especially now that he can’t make progress with Cursed Immortality because of the Longevity Path Glory Gem in Immortal Nimrod’s hand.

He has already started to pay attention to other things to gain more power, but he never thought about one of the strongest powers he knows until now.

Moreover, it was Nyx’s power that allowed him to escape the entrapment of Destin Saint and Immortal Nimrod, a fate worse than death.

Nyx naturally grew happier and more enthusiastic when she felt Jacob’s strong desire, and may have overthought a little.

Nonetheless, she continued more energetically, ”My plan is for you to use the Nightmare Eater to enter a God’s mind who had been sealed. This will not only guarantee your safety but also provide you with a ’training subject’ of the highest quality to learn the way of Nightmares and Dreams.

”Moreover, once you get the hang of the Nightmare Eater, you can then start using the illusions to attack her mind, and in those illusions, you can also allow the Void Mantis to slowly reveal his own memories, manipulating him into unraveling everything he has experienced.

”With every successfully illusionary attack, you’ll ’eat’ away a part of his soul vitality, becoming not only stronger in the process but also gaining huge insight into the Law of Dreamscape, and Souls.

”Furthermore, the faster you learn and become stronger, the less time it’ll require for you to devour his Dreamscape Realm and take away whatever you want, including his deepest secrets, until nothing is left.

”Lastly, I can use this time to start pulling the net that I’ve already expanded in the Virtual Star World, and start reaping lifespan until you provide me with enough soul vitality from this ’soon-to-be’ dead God, and I start evolving!

”However, if you have something else to do, I’ll get on devouring his Dreamscape Realm right away.”

Towards the end, Nyx’s voice almost turned into a hush as if she didn’t want Jacob to hear the last sentence because she really wanted Jacob to experience her world.

At that moment, Jacob remained motionless, but his mind was experiencing a revolution of thoughts as he hadn’t even thought of using Nyx’s power in such a way before.

Furthermore, everything Nyx had just said was true and fully doable, and Jacob really wanted Whiteness’s EVERYTHING!
