Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 994: The third season of ”Sumiya” is officially announced!

The next day, Xiao Heʼs birthday party and the official announcement of the third season of ”Yu Ye” both made it to the top of the trending searches.

The fans were celebrating Xiao Heʼs birthday and sending their blessings, but unexpectedly, the long-dormant official account of ”Yu Ye” suddenly came back to life and went to Xiao Heʼs comment section to send blessings. At the same time, it also released a concept poster for the third season of ”Yu Ye” on its homepage.

The poster doesnʼt feature any live actors yet; it only shows a comic book version of the ”Yu Ye” family portrait drawn by Yan Shaohan himself, with a large number three in the center, signifying the official arrival of the third season of ”Yu Ye”.

The entire platform exploded in an instant.

Fans who have been eagerly anticipating the third seasonʼs adaptation are spreading the news and celebrating.

【Great! Itʼs the third season of ”Sumiya”! Weʼre finally saved!】

【Theyʼre finally here! I knew they should be here by now! Iʼm so happy to see Yin Lan and Yin Qi again!】

【I saw the Yin siblings reunited in Xiao Geʼs birthday party video last night, it was so awesome!】

【No wonder I saw Guo Xinya wishing Xiao Ge a happy birthday on the platform yesterday; she doesnʼt usually do these things. Turns out, the third season of ”Yu Ye” is coming! All of this was foreshadowed.】

【Yesterday, paparazzi leaked a rumor that the cast of ”Yu Ye” gathered to celebrate Xiao Heʼs birthday, which means the third season of ”Yu Ye” is coming soon. I didnʼt believe it at the time, but it turns out itʼs true! Thanks, paparazzi! Your expertise is something I only just realized.】

【Promise me, weʼll officially announce it today and air it tomorrow, okay? Please, hurry up!】

【Old bastard Kakuzu, youʼve finally agreed to make a third season! I almost thought you were just going to pack up and leave after this was over. Do you know how long Iʼve been waiting for you?】

【Yeah, when the last time Kakuta was officially announced, I almost thought it was the third season of ”Sumiya,” but it turned out to be a new drama. I was so shocked I almost collapsed.】

【Seriously, are you guys really happy? Season 3 is the finale! Anyone whoʼs read the original novel probably wouldnʼt dare turn on the TV! Itʼs seriously heartbreaking!】

【I dare not watch it +1. When the original manga ended, I almost cried myself to sleep in bed. Now that itʼs being adapted into a live-action film, I feel like my heart canʼt take it if I watch it again.】

【Okay, okay, thatʼs it, oh no, oh no, oh no, the third season of *Sumi* is the finale? No way! I much preferred the happy atmosphere of the first and second seasons, with their ensemble cast and joyful reunions. The second season finale, with the siblingsʼ falling out, almost killed me, and now the third season is about to bring a knife to my head? No way!】

【Can fans of the original work write a petition demanding a drastically altered ending? A tragic ending for everyone is simply unbearable.】

The ending of ”Sumi-ya” was truly... scattered like stars across the sky, gathered as a cluster of graves. How could I dare to watch it?

【Who filmed the finale of a good guy series in a cemetery? Huh? You, Jiao Dai, see the big knife in my hand? Iʼm giving you a chance, {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} but donʼt be ungrateful. Immediately change the original plot for the film/TV adaptation, or Iʼll really have someone assassinate you.】

With ”Time and Space Standoff” still showing in theaters, ”The Corner” has jumped on the bandwagon, and even netizens who are following Xiao Heʼs recent situation have seen this news.

So for the next few days, Xiao He not only had to run around to promote ”Time and Space Standoff”, but also had to answer questions about the official announcement of the third season of ”Yu Ye” from time to time.

To be honest, seeing this situation, Xiao He could only twitch his lips and say ”Awesome!” without complaining at all.

Zhuang Hongyi is the only one who would dare to pull off such a shady bundling sales tactic. Luckily, ”Time and Space Standoff” is their own project. If it were any other production team, they would definitely change their tune.

This is ridiculous! Director Zhuang, are you upset because you missed out on this yearʼs Spring Festival film season? You have to try and get involved to prove your existence?!

Wow, Xiao He is doing two jobs all by himself. The initial popularity of ”Yu Ye” was entirely due to ”Time and Space Standoff”.

Well, considering that Director Zhuang later promptly exchanged resources with Linghui Entertainment, Xiao He turned a blind eye.

...

In the midst of our busy lives, time slips away unnoticed.

At the end of the month, ”Time and Space Standoff” successfully surpassed 3 billion views and continues to climb higher.

Although opinions on it online are still mixed, with some people liking it and others hating it, it is undeniable that the overall box office response for ”Time Standoff” has been positive.

After all, many people are still willing to pay for the movie because of Xiao He and Shu Han. Moreover, the quality of ”Time and Space Standoff” is definitely worth the price. Even as a science fiction film, its ticket price is relatively affordable. Even if a family of three goes to the 3D theater together, it will not cost more than 100 yuan. It is a popcorn movie that is very suitable for taking children to see.

Adults can enjoy it, and children can enjoy the excitement—isnʼt that enough?

And thereʼs actually another very important point.

Behind this high box office is a surge in the sales of related film merchandise. Since major cinema chains can also extract a portion of the profits, they are willing to relinquish their profits from ticket prices in exchange for higher screening rates and better time slots.

As a result, many ticket buyers will find that ”Time and Space Standoff” has the highest screening rate and the best time slot during the entire Spring Festival period - which is a very important thing for the filmʼs box office.

This is why many filmmakers dare not offend theaters.

Because once you offend the theater chains, itʼs practically equivalent to your path in the film industry being blocked. Not only will your films be unable to be shown in theaters in the future, but even if they are, the screening schedule will be terrible, with inconvenient time slots, and audiences will be driven away even if they want to watch them.

Sometimes, a movie might be critically acclaimed but not commercially successful, which could be due to issues with the theaters.

Some people may wonder, if cinemas are turning away customers like this, are they sure they can still make money?

Of course, itʼs profitable. Take Xiao Heʼs ”Time and Space Standoff” for example. Before its release, they gave theaters enough profit sharing, which is why the theaters helped promote the film. As for other films that didnʼt offer enough profit or didnʼt have enough viewership, they were naturally forced to give way.

However, unexpectedly, the merchandise related to ”Time Confrontation” also became a hit, boosting the entire industry chain. As a result, theaters became more generous with the screenings, even more eager than Xiao He and his team to sell tickets and merchandise to make money.

Well, the tables have turned now, with theaters taking the initiative to increase screenings and actively promote their products.

As long as a movie continues to generate profits for them, they can continue to promote the movie and boost its box office.

This is pretty much the norm, thatʼs how it is when youʼre making money.

”Time Standoff” was nothing more than a tool for them to make money, but there is no doubt that the two sides reached a certain tacit understanding on this matter.

In contrast, another film was released rather quietly on the Lantern Festival.
