Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

On the first day of the Lunar New Year, ”Time and Space Standoff” was officially released.

Almost as soon as the movie started, the place was already packed with people.

However, the most eye-catching thing at the scene was not the sea of people, but the mecha model placed in the center of the cinema.

The mecha model’s overall height reaches the second-floor stands of the cinema. Predominantly matte black, its joints and armor edges are subtly inlaid with silver-blue LED strips. The flashing lights have a rhythmic, breathing quality, flowing slowly through the mecha’s gaps, like the flow of life itself. The mecha’s overall posture is a semi-crouching position, one hand supporting itself on the ground, the other reaching out towards the open space in front. The mechanical hand is broad and powerful, easily capable of supporting the weight of an ordinary person, as if catching its companion.

The light from the ceiling fell on the metal casing, reflecting a cool and sophisticated luster, which also made the machine stand out, causing passersby to stop and look up to take pictures.

Some of them have even mastered the art of walking up to this photo spot, standing between the outstretched hand of the mecha, and taking a photo with the giant thing behind them.

So, amidst the crowded throng, an extra area was set aside in the center of the hall for people to queue up and take photos.

However, many more people, clutching their tickets for the first movie of the day, hurriedly followed the flow of people to the deeper screening rooms.

As Su Jiayue sat down with her younger brother, she couldn’t help but look around.

Although she is a seasoned online gossip enthusiast and well-versed in film marketing, this was her first time participating in such a film release roadshow, so she was both very excited and a little nervous.

Just by looking at it, she noticed that many familiar self-media personalities were also present at the event.

Among them were even a few familiar spectators wearing hats and masks who looked like celebrities in the industry.

This was totally worth it!

Su Jiayue couldn’t help but secretly raise her hand to pat those people.

Her younger brother, Su Jiahao, was not so cautious. He picked up his newly bought Little Genius watch and started snapping photos of the media people and celebrities around him. He then posted all the photos in the class group and successfully won the envy of his classmates.

—Oh well, what can you do? He won the top prize in the Yizhuang racing rankings for ”Deep Blue Speed” and also received an invitation to watch the movie from Linghui Entertainment.

Hmm, so playing games does have some use after all!

Su Jiahao put away his Little Genius watch and proudly puffed out his chest: ”Sis, you can continue to cover for me in the future. If something like this happens again, I’ll treat you to the best of everything.”

His older sister, unusually friendly, handed over her ”offerings”: ”Okay, Jiahao, please have a Coke.”

It’s okay, Jiahao is only in sixth grade anyway.

This little brat definitely has to do his homework.

Let him enjoy it a little longer.

Soon, the movie started.

—And it starts with a grand spectacle!

The scene depicts a wasteland plain that is both filled with advanced technology and appears dilapidated and backward.

In this ruin, what is scattered is no longer blood and limbs, but black engine oil and broken copper and scrap metal whose original form cannot be identified. The other things that are still active are basically dilapidated mechs and half-crippled robots.

The mechs are extremely tall, resembling small mountains. Their appearance is rather cold and hard, with most of them having sharp edges. The outer shell has many special paint jobs and residual black machine oil marks. They are equipped with other mechanical devices on their backs, similar to various advanced thermal weapons. Based on their shapes, it can be inferred that they have different types of attacks.

The robots are all in human form, both in appearance and overall size. However, the deformed arms that form firearms prove that they are no longer simply ”human”. Some robots with wounds on their faces can still be identified by their good looks from their intact features, but because the texture of these inhuman injuries is too bizarre, such ”similarity” inexplicably evokes a sense of fear.

However, this opening also raises some questions: where did the humans go in this war?

But soon, in the scene before us, a humanoid robot swept across the ruins—

The mech that had been hiding in the shadows of the ruins suddenly attacked from directly below, its fist, which was larger than half a human body, directly hitting the robot in mid-air!

The powerful force propelled the robot directly into the ruined building behind it, kicking up clouds of dust. Large amounts of silvery-blue liquid slowly flowed out from the ruins, eventually merging into the already messy black engine oil on the ground, becoming a strange, black, sticky liquid.

The whole event happened extremely fast. Before the audience could react, the camera switched to the first mech that had launched the attack, which had already been pierced by another special laser. Suddenly, a human scream came from inside the mech.

A few seconds later, the light source flowing on the mech gradually dimmed, seemingly indicating that the pilot inside the mech had died. The heavy mech slumped back down in the ruins, becoming scrap metal along with its other ”companions.”

Then people suddenly realized that the reason there were not many human corpses in this ruin was simply because they were all inside those mechs.

These mechs weren’t completely broken, it’s just that all the humans who piloted them were dead.

In mid-air, a human-shaped figure continued forward indifferently, without looking back at the trash on the ground.

As ”it” moves forward, the camera finally begins to slowly rise.

In this shot, the viewer’s field of vision gradually expands, the world becomes clearer, and a vast expanse of dark wasteland comes into view. The rustling sounds gradually increase, and the once silent world begins to become noisy, finally allowing one to distinguish the roar of ammunition and artillery fire.

That was a battlefield.

It is a dumping ground for discarded technological products.

It is a self-destructive apocalypse in which humanity has nowhere to escape.

And it’s the end of every story—

...

It can be said that ”Time Standoff” is quite confident in its special effects. At the very beginning of the story, before the humanoid protagonist (who is also the protagonist of another timeline, Shu Han) has appeared, the background of the plot is well laid out, and without any unnecessary words, a fierce war for the destruction of humanity begins.

Just looking at this large scene, you can already smell the money burning, and it’s incredibly realistic. There’s no plastic smell as you might expect, nor any trace of AI as some people say online. The quality looks fantastic.

As a long-time gossipmonger in the entertainment industry, Su Jiayue hasn’t watched many movies over the years, but she has watched and criticized a great deal of them, and she doesn’t like watching science fiction films.

She wasn’t a fan of Xiao He or Shu Han; she was just a passerby invited to watch the movie. So, from the beginning, she was quite picky and raised the bar for what she considered good reviews.

However, when she saw this cyberpunk wasteland world that opened with the apocalypse, she couldn’t help but be amazed.

Let’s put it this way: the audience isn’t blind.

Whether a movie’s set design and special effects are good or not, the audience can tell.

This doesn’t require professional evaluation; they have their own perspectives.

While the plot of ”Time Confrontation” is currently unclear, the special effects are at least top-notch, with no perfunctory work.
