Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

The next day, Tiger also posted a video.

What’s remarkable is that, as a major film review blogger, he didn’t join the discussion. Instead, he spent some time watching the film again, uncovering some details and foreshadowing, before posting this viewing video the next day.

”Actually, after watching ’Time Standoff’, I noticed that other viewers in the comments section had different opinions about the timeline, and the official explanation was not given. They only left a somewhat strange Easter egg. So after watching the first screening, I quickly bought a ticket for the second screening in the afternoon.”

”As for why I didn’t watch it a second time right away?”

Tiger raised his hand and placed the two models he had successfully purchased on the table.

These are the protagonist’s mecha X0010 model and the villain assassin A’s mechanized model.

—It sold out offline within a day and is now very difficult to buy on the market.

”Oh well, I was lucky and managed to get a ticket, so it took me a while to go see the second show in the afternoon.”

Although Tiger was still wearing his tiger head mask, he couldn’t hide his laughter at all.

The comments section was filled with question marks.

【This figure is definitely a counterfeit. Send it to me so I can check it.】

【This is pointless. You got it, so why show it off?】

【Your likes have disappeared unless you send them to me.】

【What are you showing off? It’s like nobody else doesn’t have it. (Buying at H price, interested parties please contact)】

However, Tiger, who recorded the video, couldn’t see these words of envy, jealousy, and resentment.

After showing off his collection of figurines, he got back to the main topic and began to analyze some details in ”Time Standoff”.

”What surprised me was that this sci-fi film initially revolved around elements such as mecha apocalypse, human survival, and time travel. These are all issues that many foreign sci-fi films have already discussed. But if you carefully compare the two factions and the settings of the past and future in this film, you will find that it is actually talking about one thing from beginning to end—balance.”

”The Book of Changes says that all things are in balance, yin and yang wax and wane, and good and evil are equal and compensate for each other. All things in the world are divided into two opposing elements. The two are not mutually exclusive but mutually dependent and dynamically balanced. This may be the kind of ideological bias that director Ho Kam-nin really wanted to express when he was filming the movie ’Time Confrontation’.”

”And once you accept this premise, when you rewatch ’Time Standoff’ from beginning to end, you will find that the three timelines do indeed exist.”

”In the first timeline, human mechanical devices have developed to an extreme. Humans abandoned their physical bodies but were backfired on. This was actually a form of imbalance, which led the world to destruction. However, in order to maintain balance, the laws left humanity a way out. So, the mechs traveled back in time to find opportunities in the past.”

”The second timeline is the same, so Killer A travels back in time and tries to change the outcome of the past as well.”

”But the past and the future are also in a state of balance. Changes in the future will inevitably come at a price for the past, and changes in the past will inevitably affect the future. This is a kind of balance and cycle that they cannot break. So when the future mech and the future assassin A meet in the third past timeline, it is destined that they cannot change anything. They cannot change the outcome of the past and will only perish together in the process of mutual consumption.”

Tiger Brother spoke at length about the dynamic dualistic balance principle of the I Ching and Taoist thought, leaving the audience feeling both confused and impressed.

”However, their efforts were not in vain. This third timeline, because they broke free from their original fate, led to an unknown outcome—and the film’s ending doesn’t directly explain this development. But as I just said, since Director He has been talking about checks and balances from beginning to end, perhaps the future of humanity lies within this...”

【The path to salvation lies within!】

【No way, really? This can be interpreted like that? Isn’t that a bit of an overinterpretation? Is that even possible?】

【It’s not an overinterpretation. Some directors do want to express their own ideas when making films; it’s just that the sci-fi exterior makes people subconsciously feel that the two don’t quite fit together.】

【Now that you mention it, it actually makes some sense. I was a bit confused at first. This killer A was so powerful, his entrance was incredibly impressive, I felt like the main characters couldn’t possibly beat him, but in the end he was still blasted to death by a mech’s cannon. I thought the ending was just a forced drop in intelligence.】

【Actually, I should add that Killer A and Mech X0010 are not from the same timeline! They are both defeated opponents who escaped from their own timelines, so their combat strength is actually about the same. It’s just that at the beginning, everyone was intimidated by the robots from the Mech world, so when Killer A appeared, they assumed he was invincible and could take down a Mech with a single shot.】

【Right, I was saying that at the beginning, the robot could shoot through a mech with one shot, but the attacks that Killer A fired at the protagonist were all blocked by 0010. Now it seems that the combat power of the two sides is actually balanced, but we are looking at this from the protagonist’s perspective, so we have a preconceived notion.】

【Wow, this feels a lot like that cartoon I watched as a kid. When the bad guys got stronger, the main characters also got stronger; when new fighters joined the main characters, the bad guys also got stronger. It was all about the balance of yin and yang, the restraint of good and evil.】

”What truly confirmed my guess was the post-credits scene in the final episode.”

Tiger raised his hand and said very solemnly, ”Just like I said, since the past and the future are also balanced, when mechs and robots go back to the past to change the future, the past will definitely pay a corresponding price.”

”So my guess is that the light that appears on 0010 in the final post-credits scene is very likely the source of the cyber virus that caused the destruction of their two worlds.”

”In other words, when they go back to the past and change the fate of the third timeline, their existence has already quietly sown the seeds of future problems for this world—I even have a bold guess that the source of the virus may have been jumping to different timelines along with the previous cycles and changes.”

”So in the first and second timelines, the virus appeared, destroyed the world, and then, like a Möbius strip, returned to affect the past, change the future, and form a closed loop...”

“Vitality and threat coexist. Human disasters have never disappeared. Extinction may be many years from now, or it may be right now. Isn’t every development and progress a step closer to extinction?”

Tiger paused, seemingly giving the viewers in the comments time to react, before laughing again: ”But of course, it’s just a movie, no need to be sentimental. My review of this movie is—”

”Bang!”
