Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Before the movie officially starts, trailers for other movies are usually shown on the big screen as a recommendation and promotion.

So, unsurprisingly, the first trailer that came out was ”Time Warp”.

Currently, the box office of ”Time Standoff” is still growing steadily, and major cinema chains are also making great efforts to promote it.

Zhou Junhao, upon seeing the trailer, enthusiastically commented: ”This movie is really good, but the figurines and related merchandise are already sold out. I saw online that the official pre-orders are booked until the end of the year. I wonder if I can find a channel through Brother Xiao to buy a set later—hey, speaking of which, Brother Tong, have you seen ’Time Confrontation’? What did you think of it?”

Tong Junhui nodded slightly and gave a very fair evaluation: ”A very qualified commercial film.”

It’s not that he’s being harsh or critical, but rather that ”Time Confrontation” is clearly heading in that direction.

Therefore, such evaluation is actually a form of recognition and praise.

”I see—”

Zhou Junhao nodded, and was about to ask something else when he didn’t expect that the trailer for ”Time Confrontation” was followed by the trailer for ”Blackbird”!

Well, it seems the movie theaters are quite savvy, deliberately scheduling these two films together so that ”Blackbird” can also ride on Xiao He’s popularity.

Since Zhou Junhao hadn’t seen the trailer, he stopped asking Tong Junhui questions and immediately focused on watching the trailer on the big screen.

-

”Click”.

The sea breeze at the harbor was quite noisy.

A figure stands in the center of the picture, where the sea and sky meet. The setting sun at the edge of the sky is made to look particularly desolate. The man in the center of the picture simply moves the cigarette he is holding away, tilts his head slightly, and exhales smoke toward the horizon.

The screen then abruptly darkened, accompanied by the hum of a yacht and a gunshot. At that moment, a string of dark red text flashed in the center of the now-black screen—

【Operation Codename: Blackbird】

”You say there’s a mole within our ranks, so what guarantees can you offer?”

A very familiar Cantonese voice came from off-screen.

In the office, the older policeman spread his arms, smiling at the camera, seemingly threatening yet also putting on airs, and casually said:

”Young guys, full of energy and drive, but they’re too quick to trust others.”

”We’ve been in the serious crimes unit for so many years, we’re not letting him run wild here—”

As soon as the words were spoken, the camera panned again, and a pair of shiny leather shoes landed unhurriedly on the narrow corridor.

As the doors swung open, everyone looked up—

The black subtitles reappeared, and after the text disappeared this time, Zhang Zhelin’s face appeared on the big screen.

Even though so many years have passed and Zhang Zhelin is old enough to be many people’s grandfather, he still looks handsome and exudes the charm of a mature man.

It’s no exaggeration to say that the protagonist of such a Hong Kong film seems to be born with his face.

As someone who grew up watching his work, Zhou Junhao couldn’t help but sigh upon seeing this: ”Do actors really not age? Zhang Zhelin seems to look the same after all these years.”

Tong Junhui nodded: ”Teacher Zhang looks just like this in real life, and he has a very good personality.”

The trailer for ”Black Thrush” has a style that leans towards the fragmented, fast-paced cuts typical of Hong Kong films. It consists of scattered shots and interspersed black screen subtitles. Instead of a coherent narrative structure, it relies on rhythm, script, and fragmented shots to create atmosphere, highlighting the dual confrontation between police and criminals, and between undercover agents and moles in ”Black Thrush.” The emotions build layer by layer, and the danger closes in step by step, ultimately pushing the suspense of the film to its climax.

Only after this part ends will the trailer quickly flash through all the actors, most of whom are very familiar Hong Kong film actors, belonging to the few who are still active in Hong Kong films today. And at the end, the heavyweights, including the young police officer played by Xiao He, also appear.

It’s unclear whether there’s any hidden meaning or deliberate misdirection in this trailer, but in the few seconds Xiao He appears, his posture is extremely aloof, and the camera even uses a low-angle shot from below—so when Xiao He looks down at the camera with disdain, his eyes are also stretched out by this angle, giving off a contemptuous and arrogant vibe, sharp yet piercing, as if he’s deliberately provoking, exuding a strong villainous aura.

This shot also made him stand out even when he was sandwiched among a group of Hong Kong film movie stars. On the contrary, because of his personal style, he was the only one who left a deep impression on people in the scene where all the actors had appeared one after another.

At this moment, Zhou Junhao finally understood why those few ”villain fans” of Xiao He behind him had been so excited.

That look in your eyes, like you’re looking at a dog; that arrogant and aggressive contempt... Don’t think that just because you’re wearing a uniform, you’re a good person, Brother Xiao! You’ve completely exposed yourself!

This is a clear case of blatant treachery!

Who dealt the cards? If he were to play Werewolf, wouldn’t he be voted out in no time?

Thinking about it this way, Brother Xiao actually lost the right to play Werewolf - cough cough, I’m getting off-topic, so in ”The Blackbird”, Brother Xiao is once again making a cameo appearance as the main villain!

Zhou Junhao remained silent, then a flash of inspiration struck him, and he had a profound realization.

”It seems that Brother Xiao really enjoys playing villains.”

As Zhou Junhao said this, he nodded, ”Judging from the actors and the plot, the character played by Brother Xiao should not be the final undercover agent.”

One downside of ”The Blackbird” is that it’s too easy to guess who the mole is in the end.

After all, the main characters are Zhang Zhelin and Du Yuebin, both of whom have won Best Actor awards and hold high positions in the Hong Kong entertainment circle. In terms of fame and status, they are actually on par, and they have already acted in the director’s earlier works.

Since Zhang Zhelin is the undercover police officer who infiltrated the police force, and the main plot revolves around catching the mole within the police station, guess who the most deeply hidden mole will be in the end?

You know what I mean, Du Yuebin, he’s so hard to guess!

There’s practically no need for further hesitation! After all, their status is already established.

If that’s the case, then Du Yuebin and Xiao He are both clearly villains!

Does this mole really need to be caught?

”So in this situation, the main points of interest are the acting skills and the mutual probing and tug-of-war between the two sides.”

Tong Junhui seemed to have heard Zhou Junhao’s inner thoughts, so he couldn’t help but offer an explanation.

”Hehe, how did Brother Tong know what I was thinking?”

Zhou Junhao scratched his head, looking somewhat embarrassed.

Tong Junhui gave him a deep look.

”Okay, I almost forgot you’re an actor too.” Zhou Junhao shrugged. ”Are all actors very good at analyzing people’s micro-expressions and psychology?”

How come the people he’s encountered are all so formidable? One is Brother Xiao, and the other is Brother Tong.

This person has so many skills that they could hold multiple jobs.

No wonder he’s an actor.

Tong Junhui shook his head, not clarifying Zhou Junhao’s ”misunderstanding” of them and their profession, but instead focusing his attention back on the big screen: ”The movie is about to start, let’s talk about the rest after we finish watching it.”

As he spoke, the theater lights went out completely, the trailer that had been playing officially ended, and a viewing reminder appeared on the big screen—
