Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 442: Street Photographer, Chadli

”Brother Xiao! Look over here!”

With the familiar voice calling out, Xiao He obediently turned his head to look, perfectly timing it for Xiao Chen over there to snap the photo.

”Woo-hoo! Nice, nice.”

Xiao Chen kept pressing the shutter, while Liu Rulan stood beside him, smiling and giving Xiao He a thumbs-up.

Xiao He stood there a moment longer, then walked over to the trailer up ahead and began discussing the upcoming shooting schedule with the rest of the production team.

At the same time, someone tapped Xiao Chen on the shoulder.

Xiao Chen turned to see a foreign man with a thick, bushy beard and a relatively robust build.

A DSLR camera hung from his neck, another expensive camera was in his hand, and his backpack behind him was bulging. A faint smile played on his pale face. ”Friend, whatʼs the name of that actor you were just photographing?”

Xiao Chen let out a surprised sound, then excitedly introduced, ”That gentleman is an actor from China, his name is Xiao He. Maybe youʼve seen ʼLaw of the Jungleʼ? He played Xu Ning in it.”

Having studied English for so long, it was finally coming in handy. Xiao Chenʼs words could be described as a torrent. After finishing with ʼLaw of the Jungle,ʼ he didnʼt forget to mention the recently viral ʼTwelve Mirrors,ʼ as well as Xiao Heʼs championship achievements as a race car driver in racing competitions.
What made Xiao Chen most proud was that after his earnest introduction of Xiao He, the man in front of him immediately nodded, having actually heard of Xiao He. ”Oh, itʼs him. I know him. A friend of mine recommended ʼLaw of the Jungleʼ to me before. His Xu Ning was indeed very impressive. I didnʼt expect the change in appearance to be so drastic with a different look this time.”

”Of course! Our Brother Xiaoʼs acting skills are superb. He even has a work selected for Cannes and will be attending the Cannes events in mid-May.”

Xiao Chen grew more excited as he spoke. The bearded man listened with an amused nod, thinking Xiao Chen was quite interesting. Just then, he saw Xiao Chen raise his hand to take another photo and proactively asked, ”Can I see the photos you took?”

Xiao Chen glanced at the array of equipment the man carried and guessed he was likely a professional photographer. His own self-taught skills would surely pale in comparison to such an expert. Feeling a bit embarrassed, he flipped through the cameraʼs album for the man, adding a self-deprecating note, ”Ahem, actually, Iʼm purely self-taught. The shots are pretty average.”

The bearded man, naturally unfamiliar with Chinese modesty, looked at Xiao Chenʼs photos and nodded seriously. ”They are indeed quite average.”

Xiao Chen: ”...”

His face instantly fell.

”However, I feel you have quite a bit of talent. You have a very good sense of timing for each shutter press. Although your aesthetic sense and camera language need repeated practice, youʼre already better than many beginners.”

The bearded man shifted his tone, speaking very sincerely.

Xiao Chen perked up again. ”Thank you! Then, can I see the photos you took?”

”Of course.”

Chadley immediately and casually showed his photos to Xiao Chen, especially that extremely classic, once-in-a-lifetime shot he had just captured.

Sure enough, when Xiao Chen saw the perfect moment captured in the split second as Xiao Heʼs and Movensʼs sports cars overtook each other, he let out an awestruck exclamation. ”Wow, awesome! Can I see the parameters for this shot with the trailing afterimage from the rear? I set a delay too, but the effect isnʼt as good as yours.”

”Sure, these are the parameters. Feel free to look.”

Chadley immediately showed Xiao Chen the adjusted parameters from that shot. Xiao Chen hurriedly took out his little notebook to jot them down.

This was an excellent learning opportunity! He wanted to capture such dynamic photos too!

Next time Brother Xiao participates in a racing competition, he must use these parameters to get a similar shot!

Simultaneously, Xiao Chen was filled with admiration for the person before him.

After all, photographers like this were different from those shooting in studios. Studio photographers could repeatedly capture shots, adjusting until they got the satisfactory angle and photo. But photographers like the one before him often only had one chance to press the shutter. Many grand scenes were fleeting, impossible to replicate a second time, yet they could still successfully capture the most crucial camera language, taking the most awe-inspiring photos. Such photographic insight was simply godlike.

Thinking this, Xiao Chen immediately asked with great enthusiasm, ”Are you a street photographer? What do you think of our Brother Xiao? He drives race cars exceptionally well! If youʼre interested, we can exchange contact information. When Brother Xiao comes to the United States for another competition, I can contact you.”

Actually, Xiao Chen wanted to directly ask if the other had time to take a few more photos of Xiao He right then, which they could later use for promotion and marketing on domestic and international internet platforms. But considering that such a commissioned shoot might involve many interests and copyright issues, Xiao Chen could only awkwardly swallow those words and instead invite the other with a ”next time for sure.”

”Sounds good.”

The bearded man agreed quite readily. ”Let me introduce myself. My name is Chadley.”

Xiao Chen found the name somewhat familiar, but foreign English names could be convoluted, and their translations often sounded similar, so he didnʼt think much of it. After smoothly exchanging names and contact information, he refocused his attention on the street ahead, adjusting parameters to continue photographing Xiao He.

When he looked up again, Chadley was already gone.

Liu Rulan walked over, carrying a bag of items. ”These are the remaining personally signed greeting cards Xiao He had left. In a bit, go over to where there are more fans and distribute them.”

She pointed in a direction. Xiao Chen looked and indeed saw a group of fans holding Xiao He support banners on the opposite street.

Actually, Linghui Entertainment rarely proactively disclosed Xiao Heʼs filming schedule to the public, precisely to prevent some fans or paparazzi from spending money to chase Xiao He to filming locations and disrupt the production teamʼs work.

Most of the fans who had come this time were international students in the United States or some people who happened to be traveling there. They had all rushed over temporarily after hearing Xiao He was filming here.

”Oh, okay.”

Xiao Chen didnʼt ask further and immediately put down his camera, taking the bag Liu Rulan handed him.

So, soon, while Chinaʼs Douyin short videos were flooded with on-site videos of Movens and the others from ʼFast Speed Shadow 7,ʼ Little Box fans abroad also began to show off the postcards in their hands.

[Who got to see Brother Xiaoʼs filming site and even scored Brother Xiaoʼs autograph? Oh, thatʼs me.]

The attached live videos were two: one was a GIF of Xiao He getting out of the Pagani and waving to them; the other was a hand holding a postcard, displaying the signature on it.

Instantly, the comment section turned into a sea of envy.

[Hmph, not envious at all, really.]

[Hehe, itʼs fake, definitely fake! Zhu Bo, send it to me for appraisal, donʼt get scammed.]

[No! Why am I not in the United States! I just got back from there!]

[Why is everyone running into Brother Xiaoʼs production team filming? Iʼm crying myself to death.]

[What production is this?]

[Let me introduce, this is the filming site for ʼFast Speed Shadow 7.ʼ Brother Xiaoʼs look in it is super handsome, so you can look forward to it!]
