Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 434: What? The Kidnapper Actually Went After Brother Xiao?!

Soon, this matter was reported to Lin Cheng.

After receiving the message, Lin Cheng immediately came to investigate the situation.

”Currently, our own comment section has been brought back under control. However, there are still continuously emerging edited clips being disseminated and spread in different ways, and they are highly misleading.”

Xiao Zhou explained to Lin Cheng while clicking open a video.

”For example, take this video on a foreign short-video platform. The first part is paired with a ten-second edited clip of our Brother Xiao, but whatʼs attached at the end is a performance poster of another performer. This has led many people to believe the performer in the first part is this guy at the end.”

And the video Xiao Zhou used as an example already had over five hundred likes.

The comment section was basically overrun, with many uninformed netizens lavishing praise and discussion on this actor.

But these discussions seemed off no matter how you looked at them.

That clearly belonged to Brother Xiao!

As expected of people from that great plagiarizing nation, this is really too much!
Looking at the comments in the section, which not only stripped Xiao He of his name but also his nationality, Lin Cheng felt an unusual surge of anger.

”Damn, this is way too much!”

”Yeah, yeah, weʼve already issued serious warnings to these people, but they simply ignore us. This situation is definitely premeditated!”

Xiao Zhou nodded vigorously.

”Also, I noticed a while ago that the heat around videos related to Brother Xiaoʼs ʼTwelve Mirrorsʼ suddenly dropped. I originally thought it was just a natural decline in video popularity, but looking at it now, it seems they tampered with it!”

”Where on earth did this guy come from?”

Lin Cheng frowned, completely unable to understand the purpose behind the other partyʼs actions.

They werenʼt even from the same country. Logically, they shouldnʼt even be in the same track. How did the other party strike first?

”This actor is called Han Jae-woo. Heʼs an actor who transitioned from a South Korean boy band and has high recognition in his country. He recently won the domestic grand slam, becoming the most capable Award-Winning Actor of the younger generation.”

Xiao Zhou immediately reported the results of his investigation. ”My initial suspicion is that he wants to break into Hollywood, which is why heʼs targeting Brother Xiao.”

Although Xiao Heʼs filming for ʼFast Speed Shadow 7ʼ was purely a beautiful coincidence, and he himself doesnʼt plan to continue delving deep into Hollywood blockbusters, for many outsiders, it was seen as a signal of Xiao He breaking into Hollywood.

But in reality, nowadays, this doesnʼt hold that much attraction for actors from their China. However, for actors from several neighboring countries, they are truly desperate to go to the United States to make their mark and get a taste of that ʼwhite peopleʼs riceʼ.

Xiao Zhou felt those people might have taken Xiao He as an imaginary rival.

”Is that all?”

Lin Cheng focused his gaze on those few posters, thought for a moment, and commanded, ”Keep investigating. Start from this ʼTwelve Mirrorsʼ stage play, and then go contact domestic Media Outlets.”

What a joke, could people from their country actually be bullied by the plagiarists next door?

Especially when itʼs their big boss.

Absolutely intolerable!

Xiao Zhou also went full throttle, decisively sitting down to begin investigative work.

Immediately, the entire Operations Department of Linghui Entertainment became busy.

-

United States, vineyard filming location.

When Liu Rulan received the call, the background noise on her end was particularly chaotic. The person on the other end spoke several times, but she couldnʼt hear them clearly, so she had to hold the phone while leaving the filming site.

Only after entering the castle did the noisy sounds finally diminish, and Liu Rulan could finally hear the other personʼs words clearly.

”Someone is targeting Xiao He on foreign websites?”

Liu Rulanʼs voice carried unconcealable surprise.

”Yes, thatʼs the situation weʼve currently investigated. It seems they had their eyes on Xiao He a long time ago. This wasnʼt a one-time exposure either, but premeditated.”

Lin Cheng said seriously.

”Weʼve already leaked this matter to major domestic Media Outlets. Now, marketing accounts are slowly warming up this issue. Do we have any other arrangements on our end going forward?”

Honestly, in such disputes, itʼs not very appropriate for the celebrityʼs team to step forward directly, especially since the other party hasnʼt openly targeted Xiao He. Most of it involves underhanded tactics done privately, then guided by water army. If they publicly point out this matter, it might make them seem petty.

But if itʼs publicized to let fans and casual observers know the situation, thatʼs different. Having their culture stolen, and now starting to steal celebrities, with old grudges and new hatreds combined, people will naturally take the initiative to charge forward.

This was the best countermeasure Linghui Entertainment could think of.

After listening, Liu Rulan thought for a moment and agreed with the plan proposed by the Operations Department, but added, ”Remember to properly explain the copyright issue of ʼTwelve Mirrorsʼ. We absolutely cannot let piracy be pinned on us.”

When she originally selected this script, she specifically sent an email to the opera house and received a positive reply, so thereʼs absolutely no copyright issue. If the other party just wants to use the name of performing at the opera house to seize the ”authentic” position, she would not agree.

This is a very serious issue.

”I understand. We will first control the domestic public opinion.”

Lin Cheng nodded.

Just as Lin Cheng was about to continue speaking, Xiao Zhou from the Operations Department knocked and entered again.

”Manager Lin, thereʼs another development on their side.”

Xiao Zhou handed the tablet to Lin Cheng.

”Just an hour ago, this guy named Han Jae-woo publicly announced his future project schedule on his countryʼs social media platform, and the production team heʼs preparing to join happens to be ʼTwelve Sinsʼ!”

”What? Let me see.”

Lin Cheng immediately checked.

Sure enough, not long ago, two important updates were simultaneously posted on that countryʼs social media platform. One was that their countryʼs famous actor, Han Jae-woo, successfully secured the localized film script for ʼTwelve Sinsʼ. The other was that Han Jae-woo publicly stated he will soon join the ʼTwelve Sinsʼ production team for filming and looks forward to meeting everyone in the future.

By the way, this Korean version of ʼTwelve Sinsʼ is a joint production by several major American and Korean companies. Itʼs also the first-ever film adaptation of ʼTwelve Sinsʼ. Before this, ʼTwelve Sinsʼ hadnʼt even been adapted into film in its own country of origin, France, nor had any related film versions been produced.

According to the authorʼs description before his death, he preferred the protagonist to have a mixed-race face leaning towards Asian features and set a very high bar for casting. Coupled with some copyright inheritance issues surrounding ʼTwelve Sinsʼ itself, it took so many twists and turns for all parties to finally reach a result.

In other words, from now on, when people mention ʼTwelve Sinsʼ, the first thing that comes to mind will be Han Jae-woo, and Han Jae-wooʼs face.

Not Xiao He, who only appeared on stage for twenty minutes.

—This was the real reason Han Jae-woo targeted Xiao He from the beginning.

As for why he chose to take the initiative rather than pretend to ignore it...

Well, itʼs highly likely he genuinely sensed a threat from Xiao He.

To put it simply, he was a bit triggered.
