Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 430: Joining the Cast of “Speed Shadow 7” — The Grand Castle!

Originally, there was still a period of free time, but with the news of the nomination returning to the country and the upcoming release of ”No Bait,” Xiao He suddenly became extremely busy again.

After handling matters in China, he hurriedly flew to the United States.

The filming location for ”Fast Speed Shadow 7” is in Napa Valley, California, USA.

The scenery here is pleasant; itʼs the hometown of wine, with vineyards, mountains, and valleys complementing each other, completely isolating the hustle and bustle of the city, exuding a natural pastoral and rustic atmosphere.

The place where their production team is filming is at the top of a hill, inside a majestic castle in light tones. That towering building is surrounded by grapevines, with vast vineyards behind it and architectural ruins left over from the old century.

It is said to be the ancestral castle of a mysterious wealthy family.

A large portion of the plot for a long time to come will unfold within this castle—

Facing this ancient castle that far exceeded his imagination, Xiao He finally understood why wealthy people could gallop freely on horseback in their own manors or castles, because this site is truly much larger than he imagined. Even driving racing cars to circle around or show off skills here would be completely fine.

Thinking about how they might gallop near this castle in the future, or even weave through the grapevines in the vineyards, enjoying thrilling, high-difficulty racing challenges, Xiao He couldnʼt help but gasp, making sounds of someone who had never seen such grandeur.

The first person to think of combining racing cars, castles, and vineyards was truly a genius!
Mr. James, who had already received the news, was currently waiting at the castleʼs main gate, waving at them while sitting in a shuttle vehicle.

Today, Mr. James was wearing a very eye-catching black tailcoat, which, paired with the castle behind him, really gave off the vibe of a noble butler. When he saw Xiao He, a very natural smile spread across his face, ”Mr. Xiao, long time no see.”

”Long time no see, James. How has Director Tannisʼs health been recently?”

Xiao He also asked with a smile.

”The director has been very well recently.” James gestured to the empty seat beside him, ”A while ago, he heard that you performed ʼTwelve Mirrorsʼ at your birthday party. He was quite surprised. After watching your performance, the director said he couldnʼt wait to meet you.”

Perhaps that flash of red on the racetrack was too dazzling. The young manʼs future and potential gave the elderly director many inspirations and ideas, so Director Tannis had always held a kind expectation for this young Chinese actor. It was like, in the final days of his waning inspiration, he had seen a muse he hadnʼt encountered even in his youth.

Itʼs just a pity that he had already added more scenes for Xiao He once, truly reaching the point where nothing more could be added. Otherwise, looking at that stage performance of ”Twelve Mirrors,” Director Tannis felt he could still create many more new works.

But those certainly couldnʼt be shown in ”Fast Speed Shadow 7.”

—Xiao He shouldnʼt just be a supporting character.

”Oh, right, I havenʼt congratulated you yet on your Cannes nomination.”

This time, Jamesʼs attitude towards Xiao He also had a subtle shift, with a bit more sincerity and respect.

”Haha, thank you.”

Xiao He didnʼt say any polite words either, just nodded in thanks.

The group took the shuttle vehicle directly to the other side of the castle.

It was only then that Xiao He learned they would be staying in the castle for a period of time. The production team had specially prepared rooms for them.

It was just that such a lavish, money-is-no-object approach was quite astonishing.

Xiao He tentatively asked, ”This castle here looks like private property. Is there no problem with the production team filming here?”

The interior of the castle was obviously extremely well-maintained, not like a tourist site open to the public.

Sure enough, James slightly raised his head and said very proudly, ”Naturally, thereʼs no problem. This is the directorʼs property. As long as he wishes, we can film here as we please.”

Xiao He, ”I see.”

Hehehe, the last one this outrageously wealthy was still Director Zhuang with his private island.

Damn it, why are all these people making films so rich?

No, to be accurate, itʼs being this rich and still coming to make films.

Xiao He sighed silently.

It was Liu Rulan, who had been following behind and keeping silent, who took over the conversation at this point.

”Mr. James, may I ask what the production teamʼs arrangements are next? Can we meet Director Tannis now?”

Speaking of which, after all this time, they still hadnʼt met Tannis in person. Instead, James had been communicating and interacting with them from start to finish.

James smiled and explained, ”Director Tannis is currently still filming with Group A. We are Group C here, temporarily under the responsibility of Assistant Director Benconi. I can introduce you to him in a moment.”

As a racing-themed film, ”Fast Speed Shadow 7” has many filming locations behind the scenes. Moreover, filming racing scenes is very time-consuming and labor-intensive, so itʼs very normal for the production team to be split into multiple filming units.

Currently, according to the plot, Xiao He only needs to film the dialogue scenes for Group C here first, then wait for the main team actors from Director Tannisʼs side to transfer over. After the castle scenes are finished filming, he will need to follow the main team and Director Tannis to transfer to the next location to continue filming.

As for this castle here, itʼs actually already part of the later stages.

”Fast Speed Shadow 7” mainly tells the story of the protagonist, Anniver, who, after experiencing the ups and downs of his career over the past few years, finally decides to wash his hands of that life. He leaves the familiar Los Angeles with his lover and child.

But the shadows of the past still linger in his heart.

Although Anniver, after retiring many years ago, leveraged his identity and abilities as a retired race car driver to thrive within Los Angelesʼs street racing gangs, even successfully helping the police solve several major cases, allowing himself and his family to go clean and get out of that life.

But in his heart, the humiliating past of his forced retirement from the racing team all those years ago remains a thorn in his side and is also the reason he is unwilling to leave Los Angeles.

So this story is both the final story of the ”Fast Speed Shadow” series and a return to the starting point, officially unraveling the events of Anniverʼs retirement back then.

It is an end, and also a beginning.

Actually, with the development of the times, the ”Fast Speed Shadow” series has gradually evolved from the pure racing competitions of its early days into action blockbusters. The elements it contains are no longer just simple racing, beautiful women, and extreme sports, but more fighting, gore, violence, crime, and special effects.

This time, Director Tannis has given the protagonist Anniver enough tenderness, bringing the story itself back from crime adventure to the essence of racing.

Of course, the necessary fight scenes and special effects will still not be lacking.

The character Xiao He needs to portray is a Chinese race car driver named Shan Cheng. He is one of the more important supporting characters. Initially, he comes to help the villainous gang deal with Anniver, preventing him from participating in the final race. However, thereʼs a character reversal at the end, and everyone learns that he is actually Anniverʼs fan.

Early on, because he idolized Anniver, Shan Cheng chose the profession of race car driver. He never expected that Anniver would later face a career crisis and retire silently without any explanation, which greatly saddened and even disappointed Shan Cheng. But later, when Anniverʼs friend asked him for help, he agreed without any hesitation, actively coming to act as an undercover mole. At the critical moment, he turns against the villains, helping Anniver escape and ensuring he can participate in the race without any worries.

It can be seen that Shan Chengʼs scenes have been added and modified. Xiao He guesses that before Director Tannis saw him, this character really was just a villainous race car driver role, with the main shots focused on the racing. It was only later, with a burst of inspiration, that Tannis reshaped his character, adding the reversal plot and giving him many more scenes.

And with the added scenes, Shan Cheng gained more layers and dramatic tension.

For Xiao He, this presents no difficulty at all.

He just stood beneath the castle, looking up at the top of the castle, and took a deep breath.

Looking at the plot, it seems they will have a fight scene on top of the castle later?

So high—
