Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 403: Investigating the Illegitimate Child, Stage Play

He Junhao was absolutely furious, but he couldnʼt just jump into the fray and start arguing with people directly. Fortunately, not everyone in that comment section had brain problems. Soon enough, people started pushing back.

[Some people must have watched too many short videos, right? Always going on about a brother suddenly striking it rich and instantly supporting you with ten thousand taels of gold. Do you really think your brother is stupid? What have you ever done for your brother that he should just give you everything?]

[Bro, a brother isnʼt a volunteer meant to let you suck his blood unconditionally.]

[Brainwashed by the internet, huh? Everyoneʼs just talking big, playing with memes. Friends who are truly close will naturally support and encourage each other. They wonʼt be like some people who just stick their hand out to demand things, and if they donʼt get it, resort to moral guilt-tripping.]

[This really cracks me up. In the past, people hoped their fathers would succeed so they could inherit a fortune. Now they donʼt even bother pretending, they just hope their friends succeed. Even with no blood relation, they still shamelessly beg. What, do your friends owe you something? If they give you something, itʼs because our bond is good. If they donʼt give you something, thatʼs not a reason for you to just reach out and demand it. Youʼre truly a rare flower among the internetʼs beggars.]

[The internet has really spoiled a bunch of beggars. Theyʼre always finding excuses for their own mooching. They think itʼs only right for friends to shower them with gold and silver. If a gift is cheap, they call it a ʼplastic friendship.ʼ But when itʼs their turn to contribute, they start playing the victim and using moral guilt-tripping. I spit on that!]

...

Seeing these comments finally made He Junhao feel a bit better. And right at that moment, Brother Xiao also sent him a message.

[Xiao He: Donʼt worry about the situation online. Focus on preparing for the variety show seriously. Otherwise, Iʼll have no choice but to let you ride on my heat. [shrugs]]

He Junhao felt an inexplicable warmth in his eyes. He knew Brother Xiao was using a joke to defuse all those harsh words online. He sniffled and replied in a similarly joking tone.
[He Junhao: Understood, my righteous father! This child will not fail the mission. [charge horn]]

On his end, Xiao He looked at He Junhaoʼs sticker and finally let out a long sigh of relief.

He had been worried that this simplest, purest kind of interpersonal relationship would fall apart under the internetʼs magnifying glass. He also didnʼt want those online comments to put pressure on He Junhao.

Thankfully, the current He Junhao was someone who had weathered several years of internet storms. His mental fortitude was excellent. In fact, he was genuinely gritting his teeth, determined to work hard and prove himself on the variety show.

”You didnʼt get a clear look at the person?”

Xiao He frowned slightly.

On the other end of the phone, Liu Rulan said, ”Right. The driver said it was just a girl wearing a hat, with a relatively petite and thin build. She spoke in a lowered voice, and her face was completely covered by a mask. He had no idea who she was.”

These people were very professional. The employer clearly didnʼt want their identity exposed, so they wouldnʼt proactively try to investigate.

Of course, faced with the threatening pressure from Liu Rulanʼs side, he quite spinelessly revealed the girlʼs movements that day.

”She booked the car while I was playing basketball?”

Xiao He carefully recalled the dayʼs events, but the problem was that there had been quite a few fans and passersby taking photos of him today. He had almost become immune to cameras and hadnʼt noticed the stalker fanʼs presence.

”Yes, itʼs likely that while you were playing basketball, some fans leaked the news in certain group chats. She probably saw it, then immediately rushed to book a driver to head to the basketball gym. After that, she followed you all the way from the court to the restaurant, and then from the restaurant all the way to your residential area.”

Liu Rulan had given the residential complex security a heads-up in advance, so they directly stopped the car. Itʼs just a shame that before the security guards could approach to check the people in the car, the driver hurriedly turned around and sped off.

You could only say these people were really something. When chasing, they stuck to you like a piece of stubborn plaster. When running away, they were absolute masters.

”So, that means we currently canʼt trace any related information about this stalker fan?”

Xiao He rubbed the space between his eyebrows, feeling rather annoyed.

”This isnʼt her first time, is it?”

”Iʼm not sure about that. However, we hadnʼt noticed any traces of her before. Itʼs highly likely sheʼs a new fan.” Liu Rulan sighed. ”Besides, you were all on public events or in the production team for a while before this. Youʼve only recently had some free time. Even if she wanted to chase after you, she probably had few opportunities, right?”

Xiao He: ”...Thatʼs true.”

”Weʼve already warned that driver. Heʼll also help us keep an eye out for this person in the future.”

Liu Rulan continued, ”People like them have always been like dead pigs unafraid of boiling water. This time, we donʼt have any solid evidence, so we can only leave it at this for now.”

Xiao He shrugged. ”I understand.”

To put it bluntly, this thing is just like ticket scalpers. As long as you donʼt patronize their business, theyʼll naturally go bust. But the problem is, people keep flocking to their business one after another. Naturally, they get blinded by the money and become increasingly brazen.

When you get down to it, all parties involved bear some responsibility to varying degrees.

But right now, itʼs clearly that suddenly-appearing stalker fan whoʼs more of a headache.

”What about online? Has anyone who might be a stalker fan posted todayʼs tracking photos or videos?”

”Weʼve been monitoring that continuously. Itʼs just that public opinion is just starting to heat up now. Many passersby took photos of you. That stalker fan also just left not long ago. It will probably take some time to screen and confirm.”

”Alright, I got it.”

Xiao He sighed helplessly.

He knew that this time, there probably wouldnʼt be a result for the time being.

Moreover, right now weʼre calling the other party a stalker fan, but apart from todayʼs tailing, we havenʼt discovered any other more boundary-crossing behavior yet.

”You should rest first. Iʼll notify you if thereʼs any development.” Liu Rulan tried to reassure him from the other end. ”These are very normal occurrences. You donʼt need to take it to heart.”

”Okay.”

As if remembering something, Xiao He joked self-deprecatingly, ”Looks like I really need to turn a blind eye when taking showers recently.”

Suppressed laughter came from the other end of the phone. ”...Suit yourself.”

...

Over the next period, Xiao He began preparing for his birthday fan meeting.

Just as Liu Rulan had said, Xiao He decided to do something different for this birthday event: a stage play.

Although the words were spoken lightly, when Xiao He actually saw the script, he was still somewhat dumbfounded.

”Multiple personalities? Twelve different personas? How am I supposed to perform that on stage?”

*Thwack—*

Xiao Heʼs acting teacher, An Chengguang, directly rolled the script up and rapped it on Xiao Heʼs head. ”No ambition! Itʼs just twelve personalities. Itʼs not like you have to perform them all in one go.”

Xiao He: ”...Teacher, please donʼt say such terrifying things in such a breezy, casual tone!”

Twelve personalities! Putting aside the antisocial personas for now, at least a few of those are mature males. But besides that, thereʼs not only a six-year-old little girl, but also a rebellious eighteen-year-old girl, and even a frail, elderly person with unsteady steps... Xiao He genuinely didnʼt think he could do it!

It wasnʼt even a question of whether he could do it or not. Wouldnʼt it just be incredibly awkward if he performed them?

This is live, real-time performance on stage! Itʼs not like being on a set where you can just say ʼNGʼ and do another take!

Just take that child and teenage girl, for example. If his performance wasnʼt convincing, the venue would explode right then and there!

No, to be accurate, he simply couldnʼt perform them! He wasnʼt Sun Wukong or Martin Mystery, able to transform into anything.

Xiao He already felt like exploding right now.

He was holding this birthday fan meeting to pamper his fans, not to disgust them!

Delete it! It absolutely must be deleted!
