Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 411: A Big Star in the Industry, a Proud Child at Home

The fact proves that while netizens enjoy the bizarre and grotesque, they still hold goodwill towards cute things.

He Junhaoʼs video, running on natural traffic flow, unexpectedly managed to rank in the top five.

Although not the absolute best, this was already a very good result. After all, this time it was completely different from Handsome Heʼs previous works. Many of the viewers were new audiences who had no idea who this ʼHandsome Heʼ was or what he did before this.

And after learning about Handsome Heʼs previous video style, many also chose to follow him, wanting to see if Handsome He would continue making videos featuring adorable creatures.

Will it be cute creatures, or will it be creepy ones?

Very much looking forward to it...

Xiao He also quietly used his side account to leave his own like and save the video. Finally, he specifically went to the main page and clicked follow.

...

With the arrival of the Spring Festival in February, the busy group finally had some time to rest.

However, for many people, it was the beginning of a busy period.
— Because Xiao Heʼs birthday fan meeting was finally about to happen.

Before officially going to the birthday fan meeting venue, Xiao He first went home to visit his parents.

Father Xiao and Mother Xiao were pretty much the same as always. Their lives were basically unchanged from before. When they saw their son, their faces were full of pleasant surprise.

”You rascal, you finally decided to come home!”

Mother Xiao said this while going to take the things from Xiao Chenʼs hands: ”Coming back to your own home and bringing so many things? Carrying them back and forth is quite tiring for him!”

Xiao He cried out innocently in his defense: ”I only brought a tiny bit of stuff back! The rest are things Sister Liu asked me to bring back for you.”

Xiao Chen also quickly greeted them politely: ”Hello, Auntie Xiao, Uncle Xiao!”

At the same time, he placed the things he was carrying where Xiao He pointed.

”Come on, come on, sit down, sit down quickly.”

Father Xiao led everyone to sit down. Mother Xiao ran to the kitchen and brought out washed fruit, then smiled and gestured for Xiao Chen to have some.

”Thank you, Auntie.”

Xiao Chen immediately expressed his thanks.

Father Xiao, meanwhile, asked Xiao He with some curiosity: ”How are the preparations going for that birthday fan meeting you mentioned before?”

”Not bad.”

”Um, about that—” Father Xiao thought for a moment, then still said, ”For this birthday fan meeting, your mom and I still wonʼt go.”

”How can that be?”

Xiao He shook his head in shock, ”We arranged it to be held here this time precisely because we wanted you and Mom to go and see it. If you donʼt go, doesnʼt that defeat much of the purpose?”

”How does it defeat the purpose? Arenʼt you also generating revenue for your hometown and contributing to the local fans here?”

Mother Xiao rolled her eyes, unimpressed, ”Anyway, your dad and I donʼt want to go. The venue is too noisy. Might as well save two tickets for your fans.”

Xiao He felt a bit strange: ”But didnʼt we agree perfectly fine over the phone before? Why have you changed your minds now that Iʼm back?”

Could something have happened with his parents?

Xiao Heʼs expression immediately turned serious: ”Whatʼs going on? Did something happen?”

”Sigh.”

Father Xiao sighed: ”Nothing really happened. Itʼs just that your mom and I arenʼt people who love to join in the hustle and bustle. Ever since talking about going to the birthday fan meeting, your mom has been so anxious she canʼt sleep all night, night after night.”

Xiao He was astonished: ”That exaggerated?”

He quickly observed his own motherʼs condition. She did look a bit more worn out than last time, which made him feel a pang of heartache: ”Mom, and you call yourself a peopleʼs teacher! How come your psychological fortitude is this weak? I never saw you this nervous back when you had to give public demonstration lessons. How come you canʼt sleep when itʼs about attending your own sonʼs birthday fan meeting? Itʼs not like you have to go on stage and perform. Look at me, Iʼm not even nervous, what are you nervous about?”

Mother Xiao gazed at her son, her eyes filled with pride and gratification, but also with some hesitation as she said: ”But, I really donʼt want to show my face...”

”Oh, not showing your face, I thought it was something serious.” Xiao He was exasperated, ”We never said you had to show your faces either. When you come, you just sit quietly in the audience and watch. Weʼll handle everything on stage...”

After much persuasion, Xiao He finally managed to convince Mother Xiao and Father Xiao again, getting them to agree to attend the birthday fan meeting on time.

However, after leaving home, Xiao He still felt genuinely puzzled.

He called over the bodyguard who had stayed behind, intending to ask for more details.

Unexpectedly, this bodyguard, who had been specifically assigned to protect Father Xiao and Mother Xiao, actually knew something.

”Some time ago, Teacher Baiʼs student and a student from the neighboring class got into a dispute over chasing stars, it escalated into a physical fight, almost causing them to be expelled. Later, Teacher Bai mediated for a long time and was mentally and physically exhausted.”

The bodyguard said honestly.

”What does that have to do with my birthday fan meeting?”

Xiao He frowned, ”What happened with those two students?”

This is the hard part about being a teacher. If students cause even the slightest stir, when accountability is pursued later, it all gets blamed on the teacher. Moreover, kids these days seem to be less disciplined generation by generation. The development of the internet makes them more precocious and rebellious. Parents are also not as easy to deal with as before. School rules are also increasing. Teachers, caught in the middle, are truly physically and mentally exhausted.

Xiao He was genuinely worried that Mother Xiao might have been harmed because of this.

”One of those students is a fan of yours, President Xiao.” The bodyguard said quietly, ”Itʼs said she transferred to Teacher Baiʼs school because she heard your mother teaches there. However, it seems the other party didnʼt know Teacher Bai was your mother. When the incident blew up, she made a huge scene, threatening to jump off a building to force the school to let her meet your mother.”

Hearing this, Xiao Heʼs hair stood on end: ”Why didnʼt you tell me about this before?”

”This matter was resolved very quickly by the school afterward. That student transferred away and hasnʼt appeared again. Teacher Bai said it was a minor incident and shouldnʼt trouble you...”

Xiao Heʼs gaze sharpened: ”This is a minor incident? Huh?”

It almost cost someone their life, and itʼs a minor incident?

Heʼs only finding out about such an important matter now!

Staring at the bodyguard before him, Xiao He instantly felt a surge of anger.

The bodyguard also lowered his head somewhat shamefully: ”The school handled it so swiftly at the time, so I thought...”

It was also after that incident that the school had a serious talk with Mother Xiao. Since then, Mother Xiao has been even more cautious at school, not daring to mention anything about her son at all. Other colleagues also more or less understand how terrifying star-chasing among kids can be nowadays. What if next time itʼs not a fan of Xiao He, but an anti-fan?

So after this incident, everyone stopped talking about Mother Xiao and her son, treating it like a taboo, afraid of bringing disaster upon the school again.

To put it bluntly, the reason Mother Xiao didnʼt want to attend Xiao Heʼs birthday fan meeting this time was also because she had developed a psychological shadow regarding Xiao Heʼs fans. That student cried and made a scene, threatening to jump off a building, all just to see Xiao He once, hoping Xiao He could talk to her face-to-face for a few more words. That kind of behavior and scene deeply shocked Mother Xiao.

She is now especially afraid of being discovered by students that she is related to Xiao He, which could then affect the school.

After understanding all of this, Xiao He felt a rare mix of heartache and irritation.

Father Xiao is usually fine, working in a government office, the people he meets are limited. But Mother Xiaoʼs school has so many people every day, and students are a major demographic among star-chasers. If something really happened because of him in the future, Mother Xiaoʼs remaining teaching career probably wouldnʼt end smoothly.

If the price of fame is this—

Xiao He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, then gave the bodyguard a cold glance, his tone serious as he said: ”Next time something like this happens, notify me immediately! If thereʼs a next time, you can just get lost.”

”Yes, I understand, President Xiao.”

The bodyguard quickly nodded.

After the person left, Xiao He took a deep breath and returned home.

Seeing her son return, Mother Xiao was pleasantly surprised. Only after Xiao He got straight to the point and brought up the school incident did Mother Xiao smile helplessly: ”I saw you were very busy recently, so I told Little Wang not to tell you. Donʼt be angry with him.”

”I know.” Xiao He said seriously, ”What happened to that student afterward? What did the school plan to do?”

”That child transferred schools. I heard her condition has improved a lot.” Mother Xiao said with a smile, ”The situation wasnʼt that exaggerated at the time, donʼt worry.”

”I...”

Xiao He wanted to say something, but in the end, it was Father Xiao, the head of the household, who had the final say: ”Alright, donʼt worry.”

”Your mom plans to retire after teaching this graduating class. Iʼll also try to arrange an early medical retirement by then. Donʼt worry about so much.”

Being frugal public servants, once they both retire one after the other, there wonʼt be so many restrictions.

Father Xiao was already planning to take Mother Xiao traveling next year.

”Do your job well. Whatever you do, donʼt get involved in those messy, shady things like some other people.”

Father Xiao gave Xiao Heʼs shoulder a firm pat, his face carrying the authority and steadfastness cultivated from years in the public service: ”Raising you to be an adult was never about gaining anything. Donʼt think about bringing us any changes. We can already live very well with our current lives.”

”As long as you can become an upright person, work diligently, and love life, that is more than enough for us.”

Whether their son is a big star under the spotlight or a programmer in a small company, they are proud of him.
