Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 431: Members of the “Speed Shadow 7” Production Team

So tall.

That was Xiao Heʼs first thought.

This castle wasnʼt just massive in terms of land area; its overall height was also quite impressive. The very tip of the castleʼs spire declared its presence from a great distance away, making Xiao He almost suspect that if it kept going up, it would poke a huge hole right through the sky here.

However, this wasnʼt what Xiao He was focused on.

He was just a bit puzzled. With a castle this tall, for the fight scenes in the script, the actors probably wouldnʼt even be able to use wire work, right?

After all, it was so high, and there were clearly no plans to set up crane towers or similar equipment in the surrounding area. So when the time came for them to stand at the castleʼs peak and ”fight to the death,” would they really just rely on a single rope and have to grit their teeth and go for it?

Liu Rulan seemed to have noticed this point as well. She turned to ask James and, as expected, received an affirmative answer.

”Donʼt worry, we can definitely guarantee your safety on set.”

James said this while raising his hand to point out a general location for the two of them. ”Our current plan is to film over there, on that relatively flat area.”

Liu Rulan and Xiao He both looked up, craning their necks almost to the limit, before they could see the top of the castle structure over there, which featured a steeply sloping roof.
At that moment, a group of workers were suspended there, meticulously reinforcing the roofʼs tiles.

Xiao He and Liu Rulan: ... Even the workers are only secured by a single safety rope?

James continued his explanation. ”You see, before filming, we even carried out some reinforcement and repairs to ensure the roof is in good condition. When the time comes, you can go right up there to film without worrying about safety issues.”

”Is that so—”

Xiao He wasnʼt particularly afraid. As the God of Limits, he was confident that even without a safety rope, he could go up and come down completely unscathed. However, Liu Rulan was already quietly considering upgrading Xiao Heʼs insurance coverage in her mind.

One could only say, as expected of foreigners, right? This reckless courage truly knows no age or occasion.

They go all out even when filming, much more aggressive than the cautious domestic entertainment industry.

Of course, this was also due to different environments, different fans, and different cultures.

Since they were already here, they could only grit their teeth and accept it.

After everyone took a brief tour inside the castle, Liu Rulan immediately pulled Xiao He aside for a serious talk.

”When the time comes, you must pay attention to safety. Donʼt push yourself too hard. Just do what youʼre capable of—”

Liu Rulan went on and on, and Xiao He nodded repeatedly. ”Okay, okay, Sister Liu, donʼt worry.”

He naturally valued his life very much. Filming for the production team was just work; he wouldnʼt put himself in a dangerous situation for the sake of a job.

Besides, it wasnʼt like there were no safety measures on set. There was still that one safety rope, wasnʼt there?

But Xiao He didnʼt say that out loud.

He knew that if he said it, what awaited him next would definitely be even more nagging from Liu Rulan.

Better to just let it go. Avoiding trouble was better than inviting it.

Next, Xiao He and his group went to meet Assistant Director Benconi and then settled into the castle to wait for the main team led by Director Tannis.

During this period, Xiao He also visited the B unit, which was filming at the racetrack. He filmed some scenes for Shan Chengʼs early racing performances at the B unit, along with some interspersed racing segments for Shan Cheng in the plot. These served to shape the characterʼs early memories and set the stage for later plot twists.

After completing this part of the story, the production team led by Director Tannis officially arrived at the castle and joined up with the C unitʼs filming team.

Xiao He was naturally present that day.

The actor playing the male lead in ”Fast Speed Shadow 7” was named Movens. He was handsome, with a robust physique, and his pair of blue eyes naturally carried a sense of story and depth. He was one of Hollywoodʼs most famous male stars, having won numerous awards, and his acting skills were quite impressive. The actors playing other important roles were also basically big-name stars in Hollywood, making it a very powerful ”all-star” cast.

The only somewhat poignant thing was that many of the actors themselves differed greatly from the characters in Xiao Heʼs memory. It felt like seeing a familiar face from the screen suddenly appear before your eyes, only to realize that the person off-screen simply couldnʼt resist the chasm of time—

For example, Movens. Xiao He remembered he was just twenty years old during the first film, right in the prime of his youth, and already had some name recognition within the industry circle. Later, riding on the success of the ”Fast Speed Shadow” series, he skyrocketed to fame and walked the path that led to his current status as an award-winning actor.

Itʼs just that after all these years, the person from back then was now in his forties, visibly approaching fifty.

If Movens hadnʼt smiled, causing wrinkles to appear on his forehead and the corners of his eyes, Xiao He truly wouldnʼt have thought he was someone approaching fifty.

However, it was precisely because of the sense of age that occasionally surfaced on his face that Xiao He felt the poignant thought, ”Even handsome guys grow old.”

After being introduced by Assistant Director Benconi, Xiao He smiled and shook hands with the newly arrived actors.

Most of these actors were quite friendly towards Xiao He. Movens even took the initiative to strike up a conversation.

”Youʼre an actor from China?” he asked. ”I remember your ʼLaw of the Jungle.ʼ”

”Yes, thatʼs me.”

Xiao He nodded.

”Oh, I really liked that subject matter.”

”Thank you. The ʼFast Speed Shadowʼ series is also one of my favorite subjects. Having the opportunity to collaborate with Teacher Movens is my honor.”

During a lull in the conversation, the female lead of ”Fast Speed Shadow 7” also walked over.

”Xiao He, I heard youʼre a professional race car driver?”

She was a very young, beautiful woman. Her golden hair was naturally straight, as smooth as satin. Her eyes held a glimmer of moisture, and her fair cheeks were adorned with adorable freckles, giving off the gentle campus belle vibe of an American school.

Her name was Liya. She was the female lead of ”Fast Speed Shadow 7” and also the female lead of the ”Fast Speed Shadow” series, playing Anniverʼs young girlfriend.

Actually, in the storyline, this girlfriend had already officially been upgraded to Anniverʼs wife and gave birth to a son at the end of the sixth installment. At that point in the story, her age was around thirty, while the actress herself was actually only twenty-eight.

Judging by this age, one could tell that the ”Fast Speed Shadow” series must have changed its female lead.

The first female lead parted ways with the production team during the filming of the third installment due to salary issues. In the plot, Tannis very cleverly had this female lead ”die,” allowing her to exit the grand stage of ”Fast Speed Shadow” in a relatively reasonable way. The subsequent female lead was Liya. Back then, she was only eighteen, facing immense public opinion pressure to play the latest female lead in the ”Fast Speed Shadow” series, and she gained a certain level of recognition.

Now, ten years later, the actress who was once mercilessly criticized by viewers had become a top-tier star in the American entertainment industry, a highly popular actress who had won very prestigious awards. She no longer needed to prove her position within the ”Fast Speed Shadow” series.

Faced with such a goddess-level figure, Xiao He couldnʼt help but speak a few extra words. ”Well, I wouldnʼt really call myself a professional race car driver. I just often participate in races with friends and have won some awards...”

”Wow, thatʼs impressive.”

Liya listened attentively as Xiao He talked about his recent racing experiences, offering praise from time to time. Finally, she asked the thing she was most curious about. ”So, can you ride a motorcycle?”

”I can.”

Xiao He nodded decisively.

He then noticed that after he nodded, Liyaʼs smile became a few degrees brighter and more sincere. ”Then, letʼs have a pleasant collaboration.”

Xiao He: ”Letʼs have a pleasant collaboration.”
