Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 410: He Junhao and Public Enemy Number One

Fortunately, among the countless chosen righteous heroes, there is only one destined villain, and that is Xiao He.

Although the Award-Winning Actorʼs portrayal of the upright detective is also deeply rooted in peopleʼs hearts, current netizens still prefer the dangerous and tragic villainous killer.

Therefore, even though this Award-Winning Actor directly brought a huge wave of traffic to ”Detective Showdown,” in terms of promotional effectiveness, ”Ace Reasoning” and ”Detective Showdown” are still in a state of being equally matched. In fact, Xiao Heʼs killer persona is even more popular on platforms like Bilibili.

Of course, this is also based on the bonus from the scriptʼs story background.

After all, if one is just a detective, they have no connection to the storylines of all the other characters in the script. The detective is equivalent to an independent witness outside the story, needing to lead everyone to find the truth in the official variety show. So, in terms of character design, the detective played by the Award-Winning Actor is rigid and not imbued with much unique personal charm.

The killer is different. The killerʼs storyline runs through the entire case. The criminal logic behind the killer also needs to be supported by a complete story logic. Coupled with this tragic persona of carrying a heavy burden to avenge his sister, which happens to belong to the currently most popular ”beautiful, strong, and tragic” element, the character is more fleshed out, has more of the killerʼs personal characteristics, and is more eye-catching to viewers after broadcast.

Because of this, even though Xiao Heʼs status is still far inferior to that of this Award-Winning Actor, in terms of performance effect, he still holds the upper hand.

Faced with this situation, Li Qing, who had been on tenterhooks all day, finally breathed a long sigh of relief.

”Fortunately, fortunately.”

He patted his chest, unable to hold back a proud murmur, ”Going to invite Xiao He with a thick skin back then was really the most correct decision Iʼve ever made!”
Hehe, so what if heʼs an Award-Winning Actor? What we found is the chosen one!

-

At this moment, Xiao He still didnʼt know that Director Li Qing was smugly congratulating himself for finding the chosen killer, giving ”Ace Reasoning” unexpectedly good promotional results.

After a busy day, as soon as he picked up his phone, he went to check on He Junhao, who was participating in the neighboring variety show ”Public Enemy Number One.”

Perhaps worried that his prodigal sonʼs influencer company would go bankrupt before this variety show even took off, the recording speed for ”Public Enemy Number One” was incredibly fast. It was actually planned to be recorded straight through the entire Spring Festival period.

Even though He Junhao had learned some competition details in advance from Xiao He, he was still dumbfounded in the first round just like everyone else.

It turned out the competition mechanism had undergone some changes.

No, to be precise, many restrictions had been added. For example, from now on, everyone would receive a brand new account and compete under this new account, releasing all subsequent competition videos and conducting competition livestreams.

—This account does not restrict showing oneʼs face or revealing oneʼs identity.

This meant that whoever had more active fans and a greater ability to attract new followers would have more advantage in the early stages.

Then some might wonder, with this arrangement, wouldnʼt bloggers or streamers with large fan bases simply rally their existing fans to follow their new accounts?

First, the program team does not allow contestants to reveal the variety show recording situation. Contestants are only allowed to engage in normal like-begging or follow-begging behavior in the first video they post.

Second, all contestantsʼ new accounts are strictly monitored by the program team. Once abnormal fan growth is detected, the contestant is directly disqualified.

Finally, the amount of new fans attracted is not the key final calculation metric. Compared to attracting fans, contestants should focus more on video completion rates and final monetization efficiency.

When this new rule appeared, the contestants had mixed feelings.

Contestants who relied on personal charm or hard skills to attract fans looked relieved. Those whose own account fan numbers had a lot of padding, usually relying on company teams for traffic operations behind the scenes, had particularly ugly expressions on their faces.

If some people had works first, then gained fans, then others had fans first, then produced works.

As for the logic behind this, itʼs complicated.

Anyway, He Junhao breathed a huge sigh of relief.

For this program, He Junhao had decided to go all out, treating it as a major challenge in his career.

Whether the final outcome was good or bad, he could accept it gladly.

So He Junhao directly let himself go—

By the time Xiao He saw his first new account video, He Junhaoʼs video already had over eight hundred thousand likes.

This video was very simple, just an ordinary steamed bun video. However, this bun was different from what ordinary people eat. It had a nose and eyes, like a cartoon chibi character molded from dough, looking very cute. It should be a relatively well-known otaku character.

What was unexpected was that as the bun expanded, that chibi character also grew proportionally larger. Finally, the originally closed eye part miraculously popped open—as if the little character who was originally sleeping suddenly woke up.

Xiao He: ?

Xiao Heʼs eyes also widened.

The bullet comments were also full of question marks.

Whatʼs the principle behind this? How did those eyes suddenly pop open? Although they were just simple starry eyes, not those particularly complicated big doll eyes, they were really cute after opening! And why didnʼt this chibi character deform during the steaming process? It looks even cuter when inflated!

Even he, a guy, thought it was cute, what was going on?

Wait, hold on, isnʼt this kid He Junhao only good at weird cakes besides normal food content?

Xiao He still couldnʼt forget the otherʼs bloody skull and Cthulhu tentacles.

He truly never expected that this kid, who looks all thick-browed and big-eyed, actually had skills like this?

How did a guy who likes weird stuff turn out like this!

Not just Xiao He, fans who had already recognized Handsome He were also confused.

[Handsome He, silently opening a new account, whatʼs going on?]

[Is it really you? Whatʼs happening? Whereʼs my weird zone blogger? Donʼt be like this, Iʼm scared.]

[I told you, if you play with weird stuff too much, someone will go crazy sooner or later.]

[Got it, one spiritual pill account, one demon pill account from now on.]

[Blogger, blogger, I recommend you search for Handsome He on Bilibili. Heʼs a big shot in the weird zone, you should exchange tips with him.]

[I canʼt believe such a cute thing came from Handsome Heʼs hands.]

[Have you finally realized that otaku money is the easiest to earn?]

...

Xiao He looked at these comment sections, laughing uncontrollably. He went to check the group chat and found they had been laughing there for a while too.

[Dai Bo: [screenshot] @He Junhao, is it really you? Donʼt tell me itʼs an imitator.]

[He Junhao: ... Can an imitator imitate my face too?]

[Zhai Zhipeng: Hard to say.]

[Xiao He: Indeed, hard to say.]

[He Junhao: ...]

[Dai Bo: What made you think of genetically mutating and taking this track? But the traffic is really good, even I, a grown man, find it very likable. I remember this character is the little daughter from that famous anime, right?]

[Zhai Zhipeng: After watching it, my paternal love overflowed. Oh, not for Handsome He.]

[Xiao He: After watching it, my paternal love overflowed. Oh, not for Handsome He.]

[He Junhao: ??? (Furious face)]

[He Junhao: You guys simply donʼt understand my suffering!!!]

Those cakes of his were marked as high-risk weird content before they even passed review, he simply didnʼt dare post them!!!

Otherwise, heʼd post a video one second and get stuck in review the next, then be sent off with a flight ticket.

With no other options left, a furious He Junhao made a steamed bun video in a fit of rage.

The traffic turned out to be surprisingly good.

[He Junhao: Damn it, thereʼs no justice in this world!!!]
