Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2613: Chapter 2608: If Life Could Be Prolonged

Qin Xue is like this, she doesn’t want anything to happen to anyone around her, adults or children, everyone has to be safe and sound. This, for her, is the greatest happiness.

”What was your brother’s condition when he was carried back?” Qin Xue asked Ji Yu. Her earlier explanation was vague, and Qin Xue hadn’t grasped the specific situation.

Now, they were heading to the place where the Ji siblings lived, and there was time to ask, so she needed to clarify.

”My brother returned unconscious, with two darkened, swollen marks below his calf. I panicked and immediately sucked the blood out for him. Later, I felt a bit dizzy, but nothing serious. I rinsed my mouth and came to find you, Qin Xue. You must help me save my brother. He’s my only family left, and I can’t let anything happen to him. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to explain to my parents. I’ve promised them to take good care of my brother.” Ji Yan was the eldest son of the family. Although their parents were strict with him, they loved him. She didn’t want to fail in taking good care of him after their parents were gone.

”Aren’t I going with you now? I need to see his condition first to answer your questions. You know how long he’s been bitten. Even if I want to do something, it might not happen quickly. But you need to understand, I’m a doctor, that’s true, but I’m not a god. So, it’ll depend on whether I can save him in time under the circumstances.” Qin Xue told Ji Yan honestly. She’s the type of person who won’t conclude whether a problem can be treated until she sees the patient.

Because she doesn’t want to make empty promises. If a person can’t accomplish what they’ve promised, what would others think of her?

Considering this matter, Qin Xue thought of ways while walking, but ultimately felt more assured by asking Ji Yu for details.

”I understand, Qin Xue.” Ji Yu realized she had been too anxious earlier, which made her speak hurriedly. Indeed, as Qin Xue said, it’s great that she can help. She shouldn’t be upset with her for being unable to help, as that wouldn’t be right and would be unpleasant.

Though Qin Xue wasn’t angry and didn’t say anything, her tone was somewhat stiff, because such matters involved medical ethics which she couldn’t ignore, and also because of Chu Molin she couldn’t disregard the situation. However, it didn’t mean saving him was her responsibility. If that were the case, she might as well not even try.

Call her cold or indifferent, it doesn’t matter. To her, she won’t take on forcibly imposed tasks. Anyone willing can do them.

”How’s his complexion?” Qin Xue thinks there’s still hope, otherwise, after so long, he wouldn’t have survived, and Ji Yu wouldn’t have come looking for her, right?

”When we got back, his complexion was somewhat darkish. After I sucked out the dark blood, it seemed better. He should’ve been sent to a hospital, but we don’t have a car or money. I could only suck the blood myself and then come to find you. I don’t want anything to happen to my brother, so I could only arrange it this way. Racing back now, I wonder if there’s another way?” Ji Yu’s greatest fear was that her brother might die. As long as he’s okay, she’s willing to even beg.

If it meant prolonging his life, she’d be willing to give him half her lifespan. So, as long as her brother is alright, she truly would do anything for it.

Ji Yu only thought about her brother’s wellbeing and survival, without considering much more or pondering the consequences, hence, everything she thought and did was for her own brother.
