Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2603: Chapter 2598: Unwilling

”No way, my wife is carrying a daughter, and she won’t be marrying into your family. She’ll choose for herself.” Before Qin Xue could speak, Chu Molin objected first. If it’s a daughter, he doesn’t want her to marry off; he’d rather have a son-in-law live with them. So, as for Li Rong’s suggestion of connecting the families through marriage, he absolutely couldn’t agree to that.

He felt that marrying off a son would be easy anytime, but as for a daughter, no way, he wouldn’t agree.

”Then can they just be siblings?” Ding Xi looked at Chu Molin. Never mind that Chu Molin wasn’t willing; he himself wasn’t ready to agree either. But with a glance at his wife, in order not to upset her, he decided to let it go. If they can’t be a couple, being siblings would work, right? This outcome should satisfy the big guy.

”If it’s a son, whether they’re in-laws or brothers or brother and sister, it’s up to you. But if it’s a daughter, it can’t happen in any way.” Chu Molin rejected outright. He had several sons, and arranging any of them was no problem. But as for a daughter, it’s that same story: No way.

”You’re unwilling? Well, I’m unwilling too. For you, it’s as if we’re stealing your daughter. Ours is a daughter too, surely you won’t stop them from being friends?” Ding Xi was annoyed. His kid was wonderful, wasn’t it? Why was the eldest here being so picky?

Ding Xi was frustrated to death; his child is the best. Why did he get to belittle his kid?

The two grown men were arguing away while the two women looked at them speechlessly. They exchanged a glance and sat aside. The four children, looking at each other, all shook their heads but shared a common wish in their hearts: that the child in Mom’s (Auntie’s) belly is a girl, so no one will take her away in the future.

”So childish.” Qin Xue really didn’t know what to say about Chu Molin. Every time there was a question about whether it was a boy or a girl, Chu Molin wasn’t himself. It was really baffling, but was it really okay to be like this?

”Exactly, like two big children who never grow up. I never expected him to act this way.” Li Rong commented, picking up where Qin Xue left off as she looked at Ding Xi. She truly hadn’t anticipated this side of Ding Xi; it was shocking because it wasn’t how he usually behaved.

Faced with this kind of situation, what could the two women say? They could only let them argue on. In any case, whether it’s a girl, they’ll know only when she’s born.

”Li Rong, that time Ding Xi didn’t make it back to marry you, how did you deal with it afterward?” Qin Xue recalled the issue, something she never asked them about how they resolved it. Now, seeing the couple’s relationship was so good and with no apparent problems, it seemed like they’ve never been through any unhappy moments. She wondered how they handled such matters?

”It was nothing much. My family knew about his work, understood its importance, so they didn’t say much. Besides, I was there that day and explained it to relatives and friends. They were quite understanding of Ding Xi. So, I had a meal with them that day and apologized, and the issue was over.” Li Rong thought it hadn’t been troublesome at all.

Later, when he came back, he apologized to everyone in person. No one held it against him. Just like that, they remained a loving couple. Of course, they handled matters through good communication. And that’s how she knew he always felt guilty.
