All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 84 Junk OrdersThe assessment concluded, and only three deities successfully passed this rigorous screening.

Besides Zhou Zheng, who used the pseudonym ”Mountain Mover,” and that cunning Minotaur Deity, there was another deity whose divine thought projection had a rather peculiar shape, resembling an ancient and heavy giant hammer. Zhou Zheng couldn’t help but take a few extra glances at it secretly.

Titan waved away the dejected losers, and three ancient badges floated in front of Zhou Zheng and the other two.

This was the credential for the Soldier Spirit Pool Guild.

The pattern on the badge consisted of several types of weapons intertwined, but its surface was covered with a dull layer, and there was even some rust on the edges, making it look quite old.

”If you choose to join, bind it with your Divine Thought,” Titan introduced concisely.

Zhou Zheng carefully ”read” the contractual terms contained within the badge. The terms for basic members were quite loose, without too many mandatory obligations.

Of course, if one wanted to access the guild’s core Advanced knowledge and blueprints, one would inevitably need to sign stricter and more binding contracts.

After checking carefully and confirming there were no hidden traps, he separated a wisp of his Divine Thought to complete the binding.

Hum!

The moment the binding was completed, the badge in his hand trembled slightly, and the rust on its surface peeled off and dissipated like a living thing, revealing its true appearance with cold, flashing, and sharp edges underneath.

The badge’s functions were then fully opened to him.

The exchange list that Zhou Zheng was most interested in was right before his eyes. Ranked first was the [Lv.4 Casting Pool Blueprint] he had been longing for, with a conspicuous ”Hot” tag attached next to it.

Redeeming it required 10 Guild Contribution points.

The way to obtain contribution points was, of course, to complete various forging tasks published within the badge. In addition to basic Materials and faith point rewards, contribution points would also be given based on the difficulty of the task.

After searching through the task list, Zhou Zheng accepted a basic task—forging 10,000 [Holy Light Longswords].

The forging process for this kind of longsword was not complicated, far less sophisticated than the flame burst arrow, but it required a huge quantity, making it a typical ”labor-intensive job.”

The guild usually provided sufficient or even slightly surplus Materials. As long as the required number of qualified products could be delivered in the end, the remaining Materials belonged to the smith. This was also an important source of extra income for craftsmen.

The task panel immediately displayed that this task had been accepted by ”Mountain Mover.”

The Minotaur Deity on the side sensed the fluctuation, and his Divine Thought immediately swept over, carrying undisguised mockery:

”Huh? ’Mountain Mover,’ you really aren’t picky, are you? You’re even taking this kind of basic manual labor?”

”The success rate for this kind of order is high, but the Materials provided by the guild are calculated precisely, with almost no profit to be made, and they are all cheap, mass-produced junk.”

”It’s time-consuming, laborious, and has low returns. No one wants to touch it.”

He paused, as if he had suddenly realized something, and his tone became even more contemptuous.

”Oh—I get it. Could it be... that you don’t have the ability to take on higher-difficulty orders? You can only rely on this kind of scrap to earn some contribution?”

Zhou Zheng couldn’t be bothered to argue with him and didn’t even spare him a glance. His Divine Thought returned directly to his own Divine Realm, immersing himself in the mass production of Holy Light Longswords.

Wasting even one more word on such a person was a waste of time.

...

A month passed in the blink of an eye.

Within the Soldier Spirit Pool Guild, various forging groups began to extend olive branches to these newcomers. The selection criteria were naturally based on who had completed more orders and which types were more valuable over this past month.

To Zhou Zheng’s surprise, ”Mountain Mover,” who specialized in ”labor-intensive orders,” was unexpectedly popular.

”Brother Mountain Mover! Come to our Third Group! Our group’s Great Master of casting, ’Iron Hammer,’ is personally training newcomers. It’s a rare opportunity!”

”Don’t listen to him! Mountain Mover, come to our Seventh Group! We specialize in high-end custom orders, which have the highest technical content and the fastest growth!”

Zhou Zheng was slightly stunned at first, then understood the reason with a wry smile.

Presumably, when the guild assigned tasks to each group, they would include a certain proportion of these ”trash orders” that were time-consuming, laborious, and had meager profits.

No group wanted to take them, as they seriously affected the overall efficiency and evaluation of the group.

And he, ”Mountain Mover,” who had silently chewed through a large number of basic orders, had become an extremely excellent ”trash order crusher” in the eyes of the various group leaders!

Whoever could pull him into their group could shake off a huge burden.

Zhou Zheng did not rush to decide. He listened carefully to the introductions of each group and finally cast his gaze toward a uniquely styled group—the Ninth Group.

This group specialized in orders for large-scale war machines, such as giant siege ballistae requiring multi-person collaboration, oscillating catapults containing the power of runes, and mobile rune barriers that could provide protection for legions.

Although with Zhou Zheng’s current ability, he would most likely only be responsible for the most basic structural forging parts of these large machines in the Ninth Group, such as forging the base of a ballista, he would be able to come into contact with complete blueprints for large weapons!

This was crucial for his understanding of higher-level forging Laws and the upgrading of his Divine Realm’s architecture.

Moreover, as his skills improved in the future, he would also have the opportunity to participate in subsequent links with higher profit margins, such as core rune engraving and energy System assembly.

The leader of the Ninth Group was a deity with a Divine Rank as high as Level 2 Peak, and his projection was a giant palm covered in metal scales and engraved with precise runes.

When he saw Zhou Zheng’s choice, that giant hand excitedly flipped flexibly in the air and made a forceful ”victory” gesture!

”Good! Mountain Mover, you have a good eye! Welcome to the Ninth Group!”
