All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 56 The Fishman ShepherdA month later, after several cautious planar leaps, Zhou Zheng quietly arrived at the Yinghai Plane as guided by the mission.

According to the information provided in the mission scroll, this was a Plane even smaller and more inconspicuous than the Rainbow Plane, with only a mere ten Reserve Deities in permanent residence.

Nominally, this Plane belonged to the Orc God System, but because it was truly remote—and essentially because the resources it produced weren’t valuable enough—only a single deity was dispatched to guard it, known as ”The Herder.”

The Orc Royal Court did not concern itself with the specific situation here, as long as it was guaranteed that a prescribed amount of resources was turned over regularly every hundred years.

After all, it was still an independent small Plane, more than sufficient to supply one’s own Divine Domain. Therefore, it was quite popular among some Reserve Deities who couldn’t compete in the Royal Court and only sought stable development.

But if the resources stipulated by the Royal Court couldn’t be handed over, that would be disastrous; facing a massive compensation of faith points was a minor matter, but being stripped of the status of The Herder was a major one.

It was for this reason that The Herder of this Plane had sought help from the Orc Royal Court and issued a mission.

The mission mentioned a large-scale comatose population, which was exactly the resource point of this Plane—a type of Merman follower with good potential called the Giant Merman, ranked among the top of Grade C.

As the name suggests, their bodies were far larger and more robust than ordinary Mermen, and they rarely possessed intelligence exceeding that of their peers.

Just as Zhou Zheng’s divine thought projection descended upon the Plane, a massive projection of a Merman Deity, held aloft by ocean waves, rose up abruptly to block his path, scanning him with a wary Divine Thought: ”Who are you? Why have you come here?”

Zhou Zheng had already prepared his excuse and responded with a peaceful Divine Thought: ”I heard that the Yinghai Plane nurtures a unique race of Giant Merman followers. I am searching for a suitable subordinate race for my Divine Domain.”

He paused and continued, ”I wonder what price must be paid to obtain a thousand Giant Mermen.”

The internal situation of the Orc God System was unclear, so Zhou Zheng made up his mind not to reveal his origins for now.

Orc followers are very common across thousands of Planes; in this remote planar region, the appearance of one or two wild Orc deities was not surprising.

The Giant Merman Deity’s projection scanned Zhou Zheng with a scrutinizing gaze. After a moment’s hesitation, it waved a massive fish claw, displaying a faint yet undeniably majestic tiger claw brand.

”I am The Herder managing this place on behalf of the Orc God System. If you also come from the Orc God System or are willing to pledge your allegiance, I can give you a thousand Giant Mermen for free. Otherwise, it is three hundred faith points per individual.”

Without the slightest hesitation, Zhou Zheng directly transferred three hundred thousand faith points, making his attitude clear—a transaction, not an allegiance.

Seeing this, the Giant Merman Deity said no more. A massive fin pointed toward an inconspicuous azure lake somewhere on the Plane, where subtle spatial fluctuations emanated.

Immediately afterward, its projection merged into the water and vanished.

Zhou Zheng’s Divine Thought probed into that subordinate space. His Divine Power transformed into an invisible, fine, massive net, avoiding those individuals who appeared listless.

After careful selection, he ”scooped” up exactly one thousand of the strongest and most active Giant Merman followers and cast them into his own Divine Domain.

By now, Zhou Zheng’s Divine Domain had long since undergone a great transformation.

When he took the seven-colored crucible that day, Zhou Zheng had also swept away the abundant ”elemental resources” it had condensed by automatically absorbing planar energy for seventy years.

Such as patches of Dawn Sunflowers whose flower heads resembled miniature suns;

A population of soft, sticky, and highly plastic Elemental Slimes;

Veins of slightly glowing Elemental Gems dotted throughout;

And a cluster of Spring Rain Clouds that hovered year-round, sprinkling nourishing spring rain, and so on...

These precious elemental resource points were reasonably placed by Zhou Zheng throughout the Divine Domain, continuously improving and enriching the environment of the Divine Domain.
