All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 58 The Difficulty of Moral Education”Ruler of the sky, earth, and sea, progenitor of the Feathered Serpent Bloodline, great Kukulkan, I pray to you!”

Under the cold gaze of the Elemental Naga, several burly Giant Mermen prostrated themselves tremblingly on the ground, chanting prayers in an awkward tone.

Zhou Zheng’s Divine Thought swept over, only feeling a few extremely faint, almost ready to break, threads of faith connecting to him.

They couldn’t even be considered the shallowest of casual believers; at most, they could be classified as pseudo-believers who temporarily submitted out of fear.

Zhou Zheng had no doubt that as soon as the supervising Naga left and these Giant Mermen were released back into nature, these pitiful threads of faith would snap instantly.

It had been twenty years since Zhou Zheng arrived at this Plane.

The thousand Giant Mermen brought initially had grown to about two thousand five hundred in number, relying on their own fertility.

However, even including all these pseudo-believers, those who could truly provide him with stable Power Of Faith were only a few hundred people; the conversion efficiency was appallingly low.

Only now did Zhou Zheng truly realize that the hardship of branding a mature race with his own faith and transforming them into a reliable subordinate race far exceeded his imagination.

He had tried various methods: performing miracles, providing protection or intimidation, modifying the prayers to resonate more easily with the Giant Mermen... but the results were minimal.

The most effective way was still to start with those newborn Giant Merman cubs.

They were like a blank sheet of paper, branded with faith in the ”Feathered Serpent God Kukulkan” from the moment of their birth; they were actually more devout than their parents.

He realized late that adding a subordinate race for himself was not that easy!

Not to mention making them a race on par with the Snake People, like the Eagle People!

Zhou Zheng’s gaze gradually turned cold.

If these original Giant Mermen remained impossible to convert and stayed stubborn, he wouldn’t mind taking the most direct approach—completely purging these ”old fogies” and only cultivating the new generation raised entirely in an environment of faith.

Those newborn Giant Mermen had long been isolated from the stubborn ones and lived together with the Elemental Naga.

They took on the responsibility of cleaning the sea areas where the Naga lived, and also needed to go out hunting daily and hand over the harvested food to the Naga.

Although the food hunted by the Giant Mermen was far less than what the Elemental Naga harvested themselves, this clear act of ”tribute” established an unshakable hierarchy—the Giant Mermen were merely a subordinate race of the Naga.

Above this group of newborn Giant Mermen, a blurry phantom of a giant fish, condensed from pale blue water vapor and faint blood qi, swam slowly—this was the Giant Fish Totem Spirit they had collectively condensed after practicing the ”Orc Basic Blood Qi Condensation Method.”

Zhou Zheng assessed its strength and estimated it to be only at C-rank.

When it swam next to the brilliantly scaled and feathered, majestically pressured Feathered Serpent Totem Spirit, it looked like a dull, lifeless salted fish by comparison.

As an evolved race of the Desert Snake People, the Elemental Naga were also integrated into the system of the feathered serpent totem. Their strength and unique elemental talents, in turn, provided excellent feedback and nourishment to the Feathered Serpent Totem Spirit.

On the current Feathered Serpent Totem Spirit’s majestic serpentine body and wings, the scales and feathers were tinged with a flowing seven-colored luster. When it soared through the sky, it would trail a dreamlike rainbow path behind it, sacred and powerful.

Perhaps because of this overly ”attention-seeking” trait, one of the abilities in its aperture, [Shadow Stealth], was replaced by [Elemental Reaction].

This was a more powerful and practical skill. Not only could it greatly enhance the Naga’s elemental lethality, but its dissipating effects even allowed ordinary Desert Snake People and Storm Hawkmen to Awaken some weakened elemental manipulation abilities.

The Feathered Serpent Totem Spirit remained A-rank, but Zhou Zheng could faintly feel that it had touched the ceiling of its current Bloodline potential.

To Breakthrough that barrier and promote to the legendary S-rank, the difficulty was like a natural chasm.

To this day, Zhou Zheng had actually already met all the hard requirements for promotion to a Formal Deity: the total amount of faith exceeded one hundred million, devout believers numbered over ten thousand, and his comprehension of his own race’s Law (Feathered Serpent) had also reached Level 0 Perfection.

But he had a strong intuition—it was best to promote after passing the Beast God assessment and obtaining that crucial ”blood of the beast king.”

Furthermore, the specific methods and key points regarding the promotion to a Formal Deity seemed to have been tacitly blocked by the major God Systems. No records could be found in the outside world, not even within the Plane Shop!

To promote smoothly, he would likely have to return to the Orc God System eventually.

Thinking of the Orc God System, a shadow cast over Zhou Zheng’s heart.

Nowadays, the changes encountered by the Orc God System have spread among many Planes.

The Necromancy God System and the Demon God System, for some unknown reason, had actually joined forces in a rare alliance to launch a full-scale God War against the Orc God System!
