All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 59 News about the PantheonAlthough the Orc God System possesses formidable individual combat power, as a neutral chaotic faction, it has always followed the Law of the jungle and lacks stable allies.

Facing a joint siege by two great God Systems, no matter how brave they were, they fell into an extremely passive and bitter struggle.

Many Formal Deities have already fallen in this tragic Divine War.

As for those Reserve Deities who failed to evacuate in time and remained within the God System’s crystal wall, despite their own weak power, they were driven to use the lives of their followers to fill the front lines.

Countless followers died on the battlefield, and many Reserve Deities suffered damage to their Divine Realm’s Foundation as a result, even having their future development paths completely cut off, meeting a miserable end.

Recalling the difficulty of civilizing the Giant Mermen, Zhou Zheng could better empathize with the pain of those deities. Even replenishing followers of the same race was no easy task.

This great war continues to this day, with no end in sight.

Just as Zhou Zheng was worried about this, a special Divine Thought transmission pierced through the Plane barrier and landed precisely within his perception.

Was it an invitation from that Giant Merman Herder?

It seemed that several deities permanently stationed on the Yinghai Plane had received it?

Zhou Zheng roughly guessed the reason for this gathering and accepted the invitation decisively, his divine thought projection descending upon the Yinghai Plane once again.

Upon arriving at the Plane, a projection of a Shrimpan deity with a shimmering pale gold carapace and an agile build took the initiative to approach him, wearing a quite friendly smile.

”Element, you’ve come as well.”

Over the past ten years, in order to civilize the Giant Mermen, Zhou Zheng had unashamedly collected a large amount of relevant knowledge and experience from the outside, selling many elemental resources produced by his Divine Realm for this purpose.

As these transactions spread, he earned the nickname ”Element.”

This Shrimpan deity was the one he traded with most frequently.

He was a veteran Wandering Deity whose Divine Realm had existed for nearly five hundred years; however, out of fear of the extremely high failure risk of promoting to a Formal Deity, he had been suppressing himself and constantly accumulating power, insisting on being fully prepared before promoting.

The Divine Realm lifespan of a Reserve Deity usually corresponds to one thousand years of main Plane time.

But if one does not attempt a Breakthrough after more than six hundred years, the subsequent probability of success will only become increasingly slim.

Before the gathering began, Zhou Zheng and the Shrimpan deity chatted warmly. The Shrimpan deity’s rich experience and knowledge were evident, and through their exchange, Zhou Zheng indeed gained much valuable practical knowledge regarding the cultivation of aquatic followers and the long-term management of a Divine Realm.

Before long, the projection of the organizer of this gathering—that Giant Merman Herder—appeared before the deities.

His attitude was much humbler than when they first met, and his brow carried an irrepressible anxiety.

”Sorry to disturb everyone,” he said straightforwardly, his tone urgent. ”I have gathered you all today to plead for your assistance in investigating the cause of the mass comas within the Giant Merman population.”

His face was full of sorrow; the Orc God System was currently mired in the quagmire of a Divine War and could barely look after itself, so he feared the task he submitted had long been ignored.

Initially, he had also tested whether Zhou Zheng was an investigator sent by the Orc God System, but unfortunately, Zhou Zheng later lived in seclusion and seemed completely indifferent to the comatose Giant Mermen, so he cleared Zhou Zheng of suspicion.

But now, the number of comatose Giant Mermen in the Subsidiary Space was increasing, and even more strangely, the comatose individuals exhibited a strong ”Atavism” phenomenon, becoming increasingly savage and bloodthirsty, more like uncivilized beasts.

Naturally, these diseased Giant Mermen could not meet the quality requirements for tribute to the Orc God System.

He had barely managed to scrape together the quota this time, but if this trend continued, the next collection task would be nearly impossible to complete.

It wasn’t that he hadn’t thought about packing up and fleeing while the Orc God System was in chaos.

But the duties of ’The Herder’ were notarized by the Eye of Judgment; unless the Orc God System was completely destroyed, if he defaulted and fled, his Divine Realm would immediately suffer an unimaginable and terrifying catastrophe.

Left with no other choice, he held this gathering.

His tone was extremely sincere: ”I have locked onto the core coordinates of the abnormal fluctuations in the Subsidiary Space, but I cannot investigate deeply on my own and urgently need your help.”

He promised, ”As long as you are willing to help, regardless of whether the matter is ultimately resolved, I will offer one thousand healthy Giant Merman followers as a reward!”
