All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 68 Pre-war PreparationsDuring the twenty years of dormancy in the Yinghai Plane, Zhou Zheng still regularly visited the Calamity Abyss.

The All-Knowing Eye was still in a long cooldown period, so he, like other ordinary deities, could only rely on luck to make random selections.

Fortunately, his divine domain’s strength was no longer what it used to be, and with his deep foundations, he was confident he could handle even the occasional A-Rank or theoretically possible S-Rank calamity if randomly encountered.

He even secretly hoped to draw high-difficulty cards to hone his kin and obtain high-rarity vouchers.

Unfortunately, things did not go as planned; most of the time, the calamities that descended were just D-Rank or C-Rank ”minor troubles,” and he had only encountered a B-Rank calamity once.

”The high-Rank calamities in the Calamity Abyss are definitely decreasing...” This discovery cast a shadow over his heart. Faced with unknown changes in the Plane, his desire to become stronger became unprecedentedly intense.

The accumulated calamity cards were now squandered by Zhou Zheng:

Large quantities of standardized elite bone and metal weapons were poured into his divine domain; Orc combat techniques and elemental Spells were instilled into the corresponding kin warriors;

He even purchased a large amount of detailed information about the common low-Rank kin of the Demon God System and Necromancy God System, including their weaknesses, habits, and fighting styles.

”It’s a pity that Holy Light and purification-type mystical items and Legacies are strictly controlled and almost impossible to exchange for; otherwise, dealing with the undead and demons would be much easier.” Zhou Zheng felt quite regretful about this.

As for that precious a-rank voucher obtained from a mission, he did not choose any physical resources but instead exchanged it for a special knowledge Legacy—Military Formation!

This was a form of command art that could greatly enhance the coordinated combat capabilities of his kin legions.

Under Zhou Zheng’s conscious instigation, an apocalyptic, oppressive atmosphere enveloped all his kin.

They were told that evil and powerful invaders were about to descend, intending to destroy the home they relied on for survival, slaughter their parents, lovers, and friends, and turn everything into scorched earth!

Under this immense survival pressure, their faith became unprecedentedly solidified, and their desire for power reached its peak.

Every day, a large number of kin broke through their limits through arduous training and fanatical prayers, forming complete and clear blood qi patterns on their bodies, officially stepping into the Ranks of the Orc warriors!

Their eyes burned with raging war fire and firm determination, training day and night, eager for battle, just waiting for the horn of the divine war to sound!

...

”Feathered Serpent! Your Eagle People troops are truly too troublesome! They are fast, their attacks are tricky, and they can even cast lightning; they are simply the bane of my ape warriors!”

In the virtual colosseum Plane, the Monkey God, controlling his ape kin, was beaten back once again and couldn’t help but marvel.

This was a special training ground specifically opened up by the God System to allow Reserve Deities to adapt to the rules of the Bloody Arena in advance.

In the arena, the Monkey God’s ape warriors were all burly and powerful, with surging blood qi, their giant clubs whistling with force, possessing extremely strong close-combat capabilities. Several charges had forced Zhou Zheng’s Serpent-man Warriors line to retreat steadily.

But whenever the Serpent-man Warriors line was about to collapse, the Storm Hawkmen would launch swift diving strikes from high altitude, with wind blades and lightning arrows intertwining, forcing the ape troops to turn back to defend.

The Serpent-man Warriors would then seize the opportunity to stabilize their footing. Under the guidance of the priests, they could even borrow the power of the Feathered Serpent Totem Spirit to summon wind and rain in a small area, further strengthening the lightning power of the Eagle People.

Although the ape warriors were peerlessly brave and were top-tier physical combat units, they were quite uncomfortably countered by the elemental coordination of the snakes and eagles.

Zhou Zheng’s divine thought projection smiled and replied: ”Monkey God, you are too modest. Your ape warriors have fierce strength, and their frontal impact makes me quite a headache.”

They both knew that this was just a simulated battle, and both sides had many trump cards that had not been used. If it were a real fight to the death, the outcome would be unknown.

The Monkey God rarely put away his playful demeanor, his tone carrying a hint of sorrow: ”Sigh... I don’t know how many of our God System’s current batch of Reserve Deities will remain after this Bloody Arena...”

Zhou Zheng was silent. He was a Hunting God, possessing powerful combat kin, and still had the strength to fight. However, for those Farming Gods who focused on production, the survival probability in this catastrophe was likely minimal.

In fact, many Farming Gods had completely given up on participating in the arena, but the cost was signing more stringent, almost enslaving, resource supply treaties with the God System.

The Monkey God said that as long as the Orc God System could survive this disaster, the days of the Farming Gods would also get better. But he could not say any more about the specific details.

Many of the Monkey God’s former companions had disappeared, so he often came to find Zhou Zheng for simulated battles, which served as both drills and a way to relieve stress.

After sparring for a while, the Monkey God suddenly took out hundreds of large wine gourds made from unknown melons and fruits from his divine domain and shoved them to Zhou Zheng: ”Come, come, let’s drink today while we have wine, let’s have a good time first!”

Zhou Zheng opened the stopper, and a fragrance mixed with a hundred fruits instantly permeated the air—it was the famous Monkey Wine!

He quietly used his Divine Thought to investigate, and after confirming it was non-toxic and contained gentle energy, he bestowed this fine wine upon the kin warriors who had participated in the battle today as a reward for their victory.

Festive songs and laughter temporarily sounded in the divine domain, as the warriors shared the fine wine, venting the tension before the war.

This was the last carnival before the war.
