Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 749: Dawnshire City’s Situation

The situation at Dawnshire City was extremely feeble at the moment.

Although they had taken down a Colossus, it was merely a reproductive one.

The actual authentic Colossus was still alive and kicking. Therefore, they might have pushed back the first wave of the siege. But the second wave that would come soon would be deadlier.

After all, these monsters were all led and commanded by the Colossus.

This meant that the authentic Colossus had already gathered information and details of the defending players. It wouldnʼt be a surprise that they could come up with a countermeasure.

These were all information that was being posted in the Game Forum constantly— the first time players all united to share information. Of course, there were still many who withheld information and kept that to themselves.

The ones who withheld them were those who already defended their city from the crisis or wished to witness a more devastating effect. Therefore, the guilds in Dawnshire City hoped to gather as much reinforcement as they could to prevent their city from suffering the same as those fallen.

”Alright, Iʼve heard the three guildʼs sincerity.” Xu Feng chuckled.

”But I must still respect Gentle Wind who made the commission request first.” He added, still giving them some face.

If it werenʼt for Zhao Kaiʼs presence though, Xu Feng wouldnʼt have even bothered to accept a commission.

ʼSo many commissions are coming in, but I have to do this one first. How sad is that.ʼ He sighed inwardly. Aside from Gentle Wind, there were actually more— even those who he had never contacted, messaged him.

With the consequences now laid out, these players finally understood why the Siege of the Colossus was a major event. It was literally game-changing and one slip-up meant all your hard work down the drain.

”So how much do you actually want?” Gentle Wind furrowed her brows. ”If you want cash, then I can transfer it to you right away.”

”Tsk tsk tsk, does it look like cash is worth anything here?” Xu Feng clicked his tongue and instantly rejected her intention.

She wished to use dollars for the transaction, but with the current inflation of coins, the dollars werenʼt even worth a fart. Sure, he could use the dollars to enjoy good in the real world, but he already had enough to do so from the start.

However, coins were definitely something he was severely lacking.

”Then how many coins do you want?” Gentle Wind asked.

”Dawnshire Cityʼs current revenue among your guild is approximately 500,000 dollars. And that profit is merely a split between the other three guilds. In other words, the revenue is around 2 million dollars.” Xu Feng suddenly said.

His gaze then wandered between the Silver Wind Guild, and the other remaining three.

”Iʼm sure the four guilds here worked tremendously to generate such revenues and the reason for your conflict to gain the most control. However, that revenue would turn into 0 immediately once you failed to defend the city. So how much do you think your city is worth? That is your question, not mine.”

”...”

The atmosphere quickly turned quiet and solemn upon hearing Xu Fengʼs speech. Each and every person in the meeting room here had profits in their mind. Therefore, they understood Xu Fengʼs meanings immediately.

Precisely so, they were utterly speechless by his lionʼs mouth--- an idiom equivalent to demanding a large payment in times of crisis.

However, none of them could actually say Xu Feng was unscrupulous or evil.

After all, they would have done the same thing if the situation was to swap.

Why should they help someone out for free? It didnʼt benefit them and it would have been better to just watch them rot.

”Our Tyrant Fist Guild is willing to offer 500 gold coins.” Herald Fist raised his hand and offered. 500 gold coins were already quite a lot in the current economy.

With many areas required to progress, the coins that a player needs also increase exponentially.

”Our Silver Legion is willing to match that offer as well.”

”Same for our Lion Roar.”

As the three guilds made their offer, Gentle Wind was about to follow ahead and agreed with the price.

But before she could do so, Xu Fengʼs demeanor turned rather cold.

”It appears that the guilds in Dawnshire City didnʼt wish to request reinforcement.” He calmly said and stood up.

”I do wish you good luck against the second wave, and as a kind gesture. Let me remind you that the authentic Colossus numbers would increase now that they had conquered a few nearby cities already.” He added and snapped his fingers.

Zhao Kai understood that signal meant retreat. And as much as he wished that they would stay, he also knew his eldest sisterʼs base was located somewhere else.

Thus, he didnʼt feel much guilt to ditch Gentle Wind. His relationship with her could be said to be acquaintance by connection.

”Wait, we can still discuss further.” Panicked, Gentle Wind quickly stood up and tried to stop Xu Feng from leaving.

Even Herald Fist, Dango Tiger, and Night Coin were panicking internally and stood up.

Only Autumn Breeze remained calm and quiet amidst the tension. She understood by now that Xu Feng had long grown his wings with the backing of the Vanguard Guild.

Since it was a business discussion, the relationship meant nothing, so she didnʼt mind her brother siding with him either.

Not to mention, the offering of the three guilds seemed generous on the surface. But in reality, that kind of offering was an insult to the current status of the Vanguard Guild.

ʼ2,000 gold coins to hire a guild who had the power to overcome the suppression of many first-rate guilds and even a Super Guild is a joke.ʼ Autumn Breeze thought to herself. If she were Xu Feng, then she would similarly leave the meeting room as well.

How much a guild was worth, also depended on the cost required to hire them.

There was just no way Xu Feng would accept a lower market value price to be hired now that the guild had made a name for themselves.
