Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 712: Training Hall

Few minutes had gone by in the office, with Magnus constantly bragging and boasting how Lucas displayed a sour expression.

Without a doubt, Magnus and Lucas were rivals who were at each otherʼs throats due to their close proximity. And Magnus definitely lost in every fight against Lucas due to the Star Falls City predicament.

To taste defeat continuously and finally savoring a great victory after a long time. It was common for one to lose their composure and celebrate like they had just won the world.

”Anyway, Iʼve called you here because you deserve a reward for such a spectacular scene.” Magnus finally stopped his laughter momentarily and went to business.

”Iʼve heard that you constructed a rather unique Training Hall and employed quite a few veteran mercenaries.” He continued, casually slipping in how he knew every move of Xu Feng.

”That is correct,” Xu Feng smiled lightly. ”The Training Hall is designed to train the players which you identify as Immortals.”

”Oho, but I doubt that was it, right?” Amused, Magnus leaned his arms on his desk. ”From my recollection, there isnʼt just a training space in the building.”

”...”

Since Magnus had implied it this way, Xu Feng also stopped trying to conceal the matter.

With a carefree expression, Xu Feng crossed his legs and leaned back on the chair.

”Heh, Magnus is really perspective. Indeed, the Training Hall has another layer that allows arena combat.” He confessed with a straight face. Arena combat was a special type of building that utilized formation and runes to create an environment that ensured the combatants within the arena wouldnʼt lose their lives.

Of course, this was only the benefits of those belonging to the Divine World whereas players had another type of benefit. Players could go all out and demonstrate their combat power without worrying about any death penalty or experience points losses.

To simplify, the arena combat was a haven for those who wished to increase their combat power.

It might not sound that impressive immediately, but sooner or later, players would start to idolize and willing to do whatever it takes to enter the arena combat.

Back then when he was at Paradise Plains, Carmen had the chance to experience the arena and managed to unleash her abilities without any qualms.

After all, the buffs are given to the players for free and after leaving the space, the skills they used wonʼt be in cooldown at all.

This meant that any ultimate or skill with high cooldown rate could be used by the players to test any combo or strategy.

With such benefits and amazing effects, it goes without saying that such a building couldnʼt just be constructed. It required special methods similar to the Guild Residence, Town, or even City.

”Since you confessed that your new Training Hall has an arena combat environment. Iʼm sure you know that it goes against policy and rules, right?” Magnus suddenly said, his tone somewhat chilly.

”I can drop this matter if you convert or destroy the arena combat in time. Consider it a reward for your work.”

The comical and friendly atmosphere quickly shifted in an intense manner, with Magnus clearly leaking out his aura to warn Xu Feng. Just because he did something great for the city and contributed a lot, that didnʼt mean he could do whatever he wanted.

Feeling the intense pressure, Xu Feng didnʼt react much. There wasnʼt even an eyelid twitching due to the sudden pressure.

”Apologies, but I wonʼt be converting nor destroying them.” Xu Feng calmly said.

”Are you seriously testing my patience, Lin Feng?”

”No, but Iʼm just asking for some leniency to turn a blind eye to this specific matter.”

Magnus clenched his fist when he realized the audacity that Xu Feng was actually concealing all along.

”Listen up, Baron Lin Feng. I command you as the City Magistrate of Star Falls City to revoke the arena combat. Otherwise, the building would be banned and the land would be retrieved for violating the laws.” He raised his voice and threatened.

Magnus thought such a threat would work and he would then proceed to offer something else as reward to pacify him. After all, he couldnʼt just make Xu Feng feel bitter about it which could dampen his motivation to improve the city.

However, he never would have thought that Xu Feng not only didnʼt care for the threat but even returned the favor.

”If my building gets banned, then Iʼll be so depressed that I will probably go to the Arcane Vein and cry. I am easily embarrassed so I canʼt let people watch me cry either. Therefore, entry to Arcane Vein will be banned until my emotion is fixed, but I donʼt know how long it will be. It could take 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 year, or even more.” Xu Feng said in a bittersweet tone.

”You dare?” Magnus slammed his palm at the desk angrily. Never once did he expect a lowly Baron to ever threaten him— at his very office as well.

Despite Magnusʼ fury, Xu Feng remained calm and relaxed. ”Of course, I donʼt dare, but if Iʼm left with no other choice. What can I do? Maybe I should just migrate over to the city that City Magistrate Lucas controls.”

Instantly, Magnus was rendered speechless when the name, Lucas, was brought up.

ʼFor someone like Lucas… he will definitely construct many arena combats for Lin Feng and whatever it takes to poach him away to his city.ʼ Magnus thought to himself.

It was only now that Magnus realized he had been played for a fiddle.

Lucas wouldnʼt be disheartened or infuriated by the ploy that Xu Feng had done to him, given he was the type to value profit and benefit over anything else.

Past grudges?

What are those when he could earn more money back by being friends?

And precisely because of Lucas personality and mindset that made Magnus suspicious that Xu Feng made such a grand declaration of war. If it wasnʼt for such a grand manner, there was no way Lucas would notice Xu Feng.

ʼThis sly fox.ʼ Magnus pursed his lips and stared at Xu Feng, who remained nonchalant.
