Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 713: Ghostly Ranger

Since Magnus realized he had been played and was stuck in a dilemma, Xu Feng decided to be generous.

No matter what, he didnʼt want a complete fallout in their relationship. Just like how Magnus needed him, it was vice versa.

Xu Feng required someone like Magnus to shield the opposing NPCs from acting against him and allow him to develop with more laidback condition.

”Letʼs go back prior to my arrival here and restart the conversation, Magnus.” Xu Feng suggested.

”Huh, what conversation?” Confused, Magnus tilted his head.

”Didnʼt you just arrive here after that fabulous war you have won? I havenʼt even complimented or praised you yet.” He continued.

Amused, Xu Feng nodded his head and flashed a friendly smile.

”Haha, the war clouded my mindset. I was still thinking about the conversation I had with the opposing guild leader and havenʼt gotten over it yet.” He then said and scratched his head shyly.

”Ah, should I send some people to get you some calming tea to relax?” Magnus asked in concern and was about to call for an employee.

However, Xu Feng rejected the gesture and instead asked, ”Itʼs alright. I believe something else would be more calming.”

”The formation and runes required to construct an arena combat, right?” Magnus quickly cut him off and proceeded to retrieve a few items out and place them on the desk. ”These are extremely scarce and rare, but for you, Iʼll make an exception. Is this very calming?”

Astonished, Xu Fengʼs eyes widened as he quickly stood up and gave a 90-degree bow to Magnus.

”How could I ever thank you for this generosity, Magnus.” Xu Feng exclaimed, seemingly overwhelmed with emotion.

”I feel like Iʼm going to cry now. Look at what you did, Magnus. How could you just drop a sudden bomb on me like that?” He said and smoothly took the items to his inventory in a lightning-fast manner.

Meanwhile, Magnus, who saw the action, nearly had the urge to punch Xu Feng in the face for such shamelessness.

”Okay, youʼve been rewarded for your effort so you may leave now,” Magnus said, clearly telling him to scram in a roundabout manner.

Now that both parties had understood each other, it was best to keep the pretenses and truly forget about the previous conversation.

”Yes, I shall excuse myself now, Magnus.” Xu Feng stood up and bowed politely.

Shortly after Xu Feng made his exit, Magnus finally released some of his steam.

”Ugh, I should have listened to Howardʼs advice earlier and that he wasnʼt easy to control.” He furrowed his brows and lamented at his action. It was such a shame that there was no do-over and he had no other choice but to live up to this regret.

”It seems like I can only count on Howard and his subordinate to handle matters regarding Lin Feng. That bastard is really making it hard to resist punching his face.”

And with that in mind, Magnus then proceeded with the motion, opting to never interact with Xu Feng unless it was necessary.

While Magnus held such a thought, the same could be said for Xu Feng.

ʼPhew, finally got rid of that old fox from trying to use me.ʼ Xu Feng thought to himself, his eyes glancing at the inventory.

Although it was indeed risky to behave in such a way, the result was worth it.

ʼMagnus probably thought I was going to build the Arena Combat in his city, but jokes on him, that was never my plan.ʼ He sneered inwardly, having fooled him not once, but twice.

Sometime later, he returned to the Vanguard Shop, which became overcrowded with players.

”Huh? Why are there suddenly so many players?” He raised an eyebrow in confusion. The shop might have become a stable and very efficient place for players, but it had been a long time since it was this overcrowded.

”Oi, are you new here?” Suddenly, a player who was in front of him, overheard his question, asked in a prideful tone.

Since Xu Feng wasnʼt wearing a mask or a guild emblem, he was easily perceived as a regular player.

Thus, he nodded his head and answered, ”I came to this city after hearing about the guild war happening, but it was already over by the time I finished the teleportation.”

”Heh, youʼre in luck then.” The player laughed heartily. ”That guild war was beyond pathetic for MIST. The Vanguard Guild absolutely steamrolled them.”

”Oh, no wonder it was that quick.” Xu Feng rubbed his chin, feigning ignorance of the war.

”Anyway, Iʼm Ghostly Ranger and weʼre all lining up here to purchase a membership.” The player identified as Ghostly Ranger said and proceeded to give advice to Xu Feng. ”A membership for the Training Hall might not seem much at a glance, but based on my analysis. There had to be more to it, so we just need to purchase a membership now and wait.”

”What could there be more of? Isnʼt it just a Training Hall?”

”Aiyah, you really are ignorant.” Ghostly Ranger shook his head but still chose to explain.

”If you pay attention to the things that the Vanguard Guild had pulled off, it wouldnʼt be an exaggeration to say they are the pioneers of development. Many other guilds began to copy them, so without a doubt, this new Training Hall definitely holds a hidden secret. And if weʼre a member from the beginning, the benefit we reap would bear fruit sooner or later.”

Hearing Ghostly Rangerʼs analysis and explanation, Xu Feng had to give it to him. He was certainly on point on the matter despite not knowing much.

”Thanks for the explanation, Ghostly Ranger. Iʼll head in now.” Xu Feng noted down his name and bid his farewell.

”Wait a second, you canʼt just skip the queue. Thereʼs a line and we have to get the number tag to wait for our turn. If you attempt to skip, then the NPCs will restrain you.” Ghostly Ranger panicked and hurriedly explained. He then flashed his tag which showed the number 095.

However, his eyes widened in utter shock when he spotted the fierce NPCs actually sidestepped and allowed him to enter.

”W-What the heck?” Ghostly Ranger twitched his mouth in disbelief.
