Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 942: Chapter 124: Growth of Deer Blood Wine and Monster Cavalry in the Territory (2)

The main reason for that occasion was also to celebrate the successful and perfect Festival of the Radiant Sun Goddess, otherwise it wouldn’t have been so lively and exciting.

Once Silvana left, Su Li turned to Hilude and asked, ”My Chief Steward, do we have any plans for today?”

Hilude nodded gently and said, ”If you have some spare time, the Minister of Agriculture and Chief Steward of the Vault Area, Lord Vandar Oak, would like to report the current situation of the territory to you.”

”Oh, he’s here to report the work summary I asked him to do earlier, right?” Su Li suddenly remembered the matter.

During the harvest season, Su Li had instructed him to take advantage of the time during the Festival of the Radiant Sun Goddess to tally the harvest of the territory for that season.

At least it’s been a year, Su Li needed to be clear about the classification and yield of various grains in the territory.

This is actually a very normal territory statistic. Basically, every lord should be aware of the output of various resources under their governance.

The Statistics Bureau is responsible for this, but everything in the territory is nominally Su Li’s wealth, so Vandar, the Chief Steward of the Vault Area, also assumed this responsibility.

Hilude replied, ”It is indeed about this, and the summer planting has already commenced. Their Dawn Church is very actively motivated, promoting the comprehensive development of the territory’s farming ventures, and he needs to report that to you as well.”

”Then let him come over.” Su Li thought for a moment; he indeed had nothing planned for the morning, especially since his body was completely drained by Aeliria earlier, being idle was just being idle: ”I happen to discuss the Bishop’s Council matters with him as well.”

With Su Li’s order, Vandar soon arrived at the castle.

Su Li was not staying in the manor but was up on the castle walls, gazing at the beautiful landscape of the Hesse Territory.

Now at the beginning of summer, when flowers were blooming and trees were lush, the noble lands sprawled from the Bauhinia Palace northward to the expansive slopes of the Green Hills. This part of the slope had not been cultivated, making the land exceptionally beautiful, with endless plains and verdant woods dotting it, giving a sense of endless vitality and energy.

If this world weren’t so dangerous, this estate would truly be considered picturesque; it would be the utopian pastoral life.

While he was contemplating, Vandar’s giant eagle landed on the castle terrace, the designated area for airborne mounts to ascend and descend. In front of the towering castle, this plaza was vast and grand.

The armed attendants promptly stepped forward, leading the giant eagle away, then guided Vandar to Su Li.

Without waiting for him to start discussing official matters, Su Li first asked another question, ”My minister, have you tallied how many mythical creatures we currently have in the territory?”

”Mythical creatures?” Vandar asked composedly, ”Lord, you mean mounts other than warhorses?”

”That’s right.” Su Li looked towards the departing giant eagle and said, ”Monster Cavalry is considered the empire’s most powerful military force. Our territory must also pay attention to them. Previously, because the scale was insufficient, they were bred dispersedly. Now we should have a considerable number, and it might be time to organize several Monster Cavalry units.”

Vandar evidently had already compiled all this, so he answered confidently, ”As for Monster Cavalry, indeed, our territory has quite a few.”

”Currently, the territory has 2 Silver Horn Giant Shepherd Deer, which are powerful Holy Beasts capable of producing Moonlight Alfalfa. At present, Lady Lunadeshan has tamed one, while the other remains inactive in the Holy Forest.”

”Lady Lunadeshan tamed a Silver Horn Giant Shepherd Deer?” Su Li immediately smiled in delight; this was indeed an unexpected joy.

The Giant Shepherd Deer Cavalry is generally regarded as the apex of the Tal Church’s military force, comparable to the Human Empire’s Griffin Knights. Of course, the Tal Church has an even higher-tier force, but it seldom belongs to human factions, so when counting forces in human territories, this troop is usually disregarded—that is the Dragon Cavalry.

Su Li didn’t expect Lunadeshan to tame a Giant Dragon, as he himself struggled intensely to ride one. For Lunadeshan to ride a Giant Dragon, she might well have to offer herself entirely!

After all, dragons are inherently addictive.

Wait, Su Li suddenly realized, deer might be similar in that respect too. Otherwise, why would Silvana have given him Deer Blood Wine?

Suddenly filled with curiosity, he asked, ”How did Lady Lunadeshan tame the Giant Shepherd Deer?”

His eyes were practically glowing with a lively gossiping interest.

He also remembered that Lunadeshan, this maid of Tal, was quite wild, at the Summer Solstice festival; her gaze wandered uncontrollably, wherever there were exposed muscled male knights, her steps unknowingly moved there.

You would always find this maid next to the most burly, handsome knights.

Vandar’s thoughts were much simpler than Su Li’s. He chuckled and said, ”Speaking of which, I really admire Lady Lunadeshan. For the sake of preaching, she’s indeed completely devoted. After the Giant Shepherd Deer repeatedly rejected her, she straightforwardly moved into the Holy Forest, living and interacting with the deer day and night, sharing meals and lodging, tending to these two Giant Shepherd Deer.”

”Her passion and devotion, after undergoing Tal’s trial, eventually moved a Silver Horn Giant Shepherd Deer to forge a pact with her, becoming her Guardian Beast. Know that this wasn’t easy; Giant Shepherd Deer only serve as mounts for the purest of maidens, and Lady Lunadeshan undoubtedly proved herself.”
