Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 931: Chapter 121: Death Choir and the Rout of the Undead Legion (Part 2)

”Jasper seems keen on keeping the choir going far beyond its rightful point of collapse. Its skulls appear on the walls of towns it plans to plunder, singing to the defenders to sap their will to fight. Sometimes, Jasper adorns them on its carriage to provide further protection when needed.”

”The priests of Mor and the knights of the Divine Hall consider the existence of this creature a special insult to the Order. Many members of the Black Guard have vowed to end the choir’s singing, or die trying. So far, no one has succeeded. There’s always a part of the choir that escapes death, forming anew, growing again, then seeking revenge. Among the many skulls of the choir, no less include those that belonged to people who attempted to hunt this undead.”

”Heh heh heh!” A creepy laughter echoed from behind the pit, ”Oh, crow of Mor, you know quite a lot. Looks like a delicious prey; I’ll twist off your skull, turn it into the most beautiful decoration, and present it to my great master.”

Su Li and the knights behind him looked toward the voice, seeing a figure standing amidst a horde of undead, clad in a large black cloak, its skeletal face stripped of all flesh beneath an exaggerated brim!

This iconic attire and appearance, without a doubt, mark it as the commander of this undead troop—the Night Wanderer Corpse Messenger!

Just as its eerie laughter ended, it eagerly looked at the knights of Hesse Territory: ”I must ponder how to thank you! During the most difficult times of battle, you blocked the Divine Chosen reinforcements sent by the Spider God for me. It gave me the chance to turn this place into a mass grave!”

”How should I thank you all~ Oh, my darlings, perhaps I should peel all your skins off, make them into flags and cloaks to carry around at all times. I will cherish you well! Including your skulls, your remains, I will certainly turn you into my most vengeful, most fierce pawns!”

”That Crawling Giant Spider was the Spider God’s reinforcements?!” Su Li suddenly understood; no wonder that giant spider appeared so abruptly! Just as he arrived, it showed up.

It was bad luck for both him and it; they hadn’t even encountered their target before crossing paths halfway!

As a result, it was as if he had taken the bullet for this damned Night Wanderer Corpse Messenger.

At this moment, intense gunfire erupted behind Su Li, with the dwarves cursing angrily: ”Damn it! The monsters are getting stronger and stronger! Lord, our rear has been surrounded!”

This is the Night Wanderer Corpse’s strategic style. Once they stop, those secondary undead following them draw closer, and the power of black magic is amplified! As bullets hit them, they strike not only bone ashes and remains but, more importantly, the fortified black magic energy, causing the bullets to ricochet like hitting an iron wall.

The earlier approach of easily smashing a clumsy monster’s skull with a dwarf’s firearm is no longer possible.

As they closed in on the envoys and the Night Wanderer Corpse’s corpse carts, these monsters not only became more defensively formidable but also seemed more agile, with swifter and more fierce attacks!

At this point, the envoy laughed excitedly, its skeletal mouth opening and closing exaggeratedly: ”My master will surely reward my accomplishments on this trip! Not only have I found a mass grave but also killed so many High Tier human knights and dwarves. Let me see, there’s even a Divine Chosen Knight! Wahhahha, this means the Night Wanderer Corpse will gain another powerful Black Knight!”

Su Li waved at Dorglin, instructing him to command the battle behind them and hold off the chasing monsters coming from the cave, then calmly spoke to the Night Wanderer Corpse Messenger: ”Do you think you’ve already won?”

”Of course!” The skull beneath the envoy’s bare cranium flickered violently with soul fire: ”Stop bluffing, you’re already surrounded by our Night Wanderer Corpse’s walking dead, with at least hundreds or even thousands blocking your retreat. Your mere hundred or so people won’t escape.”

”And here, the sacrifices in the mass grave are countless. As long as I keep summoning, the undead legion will drown you!”

”Heh heh heh! By then, I will take you and these giant spider remains back as offerings to my master!”

Its terrifying voice echoed above this Hell Pit, and along with its voice, numerous undead monsters crawled out from the Hell Pit, starting with a plethora of Skeleton Warriors, followed by Skeleton Spearmen, zombies, and Desolate Tomb Guards, but soon there emerged massive monsters—Fear Beasts!

This large creature and the expansive Undead Legion made all the knights involuntarily take a half-step back, awestruck as they gazed forward.

Desolate Tomb Guards were already equivalent to human Elite Knights. In the land of the undead and the castle walls where vampires roam, some warriors clad in rusted armor patrol relentlessly. These fearsome sentinels are the Desolate Tomb Guards, reanimated corpse demons loyal to vampire and undead mage masters. Although their bodies have decayed, leaving only bones and bits of rotting flesh, the evil magic upon them is so potent that it remains undispersed across centuries, thus the Desolate Tomb Guards are not truly vanquished.
