Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 42: Chapter 40: Luxury Residence

Fame?

Lu Li really didn’t want to be famous.

If he had wanted fame, he could have easily ridden the wave of Nathan’s hot dog challenge last time and become an internet celebrity overnight.

But he’s already given interviews, and now it’s too late to not want fame. Anyway, this kind of fame shouldn’t make people think he has ”superpowers.”

Lu Li didn’t think much of it. After chatting with Wang Yu for a bit, he drove away.

Since he had to work the next day, Lu Li went home, packed his luggage, and said goodbye to his parents.

Then, he drove swiftly towards the city.

When he returned to his rented place in the city, it was around one in the afternoon.

Lu Li originally wanted to take a nap.

Perhaps because today was a rest day.

The couple next door had invited several people over to play.

They were very noisy.

He couldn’t fall asleep.

Once he had some money, Lu Li started thinking about whether to move out.

Being disturbed like this made his decision firm.

So, just after returning, Lu Li once again drove out to look for a place.

He went to a well-known real estate rental agency.

He was attended by a female agent in her late twenties.

The female agent made Lu Li a cup of tea, sat down, and asked, ”Mr. Lu, what price range house are you looking to rent?”

What price range was he looking for?

To be honest, Lu Li hadn’t really considered it before coming.

He just knew he had to find an entire house to rent.

That way, it would be more private, and no one would disturb his rest.

Now that the female agent asked, Lu Li started to seriously think about it.

He currently had over 300,000 at his disposal.

With skills like x-ray vision, super hearing, and super smell, he would definitely earn more money in the future.

If he just randomly found a house for whole rental, it seemed like he was shortchanging himself.

If he’s going to live anywhere, it should be nicely.

However, he was living alone, so it definitely wouldn’t make sense to rent such a huge place.

Lu Li asked thoughtfully, ”Is there a place nearby that’s a bit more upscale?”

As soon as she heard the word ”upscale,” the female agent’s eyes lit up, and she quickly said, ”Yes, let me recommend two options for you.”

Lu Li responded with a grunt, ”Okay.”

The female agent immediately typed on the computer.

Then she turned the screen towards him and pointed at it, saying, ”Mr. Lu, this luxurious villa isn’t too far from here. It’s got five bedrooms, three living rooms, and five bathrooms at 588 square meters, with luxury renovations. The monthly rent is 30,000. What do you think?”

Lu Li glanced at the screen.

To be honest, just looking at the pictures, it did look quite good.

But he politely declined, ”I’m living alone.”

The female agent looked a bit disappointed, ”Alright, I’ll find something smaller for you.”

As she spoke, something seemed to cross her mind, ”Would an apartment be okay?”

Lu Li nodded, ”Yes, that’s fine.”

The female agent said, ”Lak Mansion is well... ”

Lu Li quickly waved his hand, ”Look for something else, quickly.”

Living there?

My kidneys can’t take it!

That place is notorious for being a money trap!

The female agent had no choice but to search on the computer again, then suggested, ”Poly Yuxi has a place that’s nice. Although it’s two bedrooms, two living rooms, and one bathroom at just 94 square meters, the owner spent a million on renovations, and the furniture inside is very luxurious.”

Lu Li leaned over, ”Let me see.”

The next moment, he was captivated by the picture of that utmost luxurious decor.

The apartment’s decor was just too luxurious.

It was a classic European style.

There was an inbuilt large-screen TV.

The living room had high-end brand sofas.

The chandelier was crystal-like.

The floor was pristine and spotless.

Even the bed was high-end.

Lu Li instantly liked it and asked eagerly, ”How much is this house per month?”

The female agent saw potential and quickly responded, ”It’s a bit pricey, 9,000, do you want me to take you to see it?”

From the pictures, the house did look very luxurious.

But at 9,000 per month, it did seem a bit expensive.

Lu Li did quite like the house, thought for a moment, and said, ”Okay, let’s go see it now.”

He wanted to see why this place was worth 9,000 a month.

With that said, the two immediately got up.

Lu Li drove to the destination.

...

They arrived at Poly Yuxi.

Lu Li parked his car in the outside parking lot, then followed the female agent inside.

They arrived at Building 3.

Took the elevator up.

Ding dong.

The elevator reached the floor.

The two arrived at the east-side apartment.

The female agent took out a key to open the door, and pushed it open, ”Mr. Lu, you can take a good look.”

”Alright.”

Lu Li walked in, finding the house even more luxurious than what it looked like in the pictures.

For instance, the living room appeared dimly lit in the pictures, creating a bit of a gloomy atmosphere.

However, upon formally entering, he saw that the living room was very well-lit, making it bright and full of light.

He discreetly went to the balcony and saw that it not only had a high-end washing machine but also a highly valuable imported dryer worth twenty to thirty thousand.

The female agent was continuously introducing, ”The owner’s crystal chandelier brand is Swarovski; just the chandelier alone is over nineteen thousand. Moreover, these sofas are from the Italian luxury brand TAZA, and a set costs fifty-six or seventy thousand...”

She kept talking about the prices of all kinds of furniture in the apartment.

A luxury stone dining table costing fifty thousand.

A custom showerhead costing twenty thousand.

Everything was extremely luxurious.

What surprised Lu Li the most was the bed.

It was reportedly a top-tier bed from the Swedish brand Duxiana, priced at eighty-eight thousand eight hundred.

Luxurious.

The ultimate luxury!

That was Lu Li’s first impression of the apartment.

After looking around, he glanced at the female agent in disbelief, ”A house this luxurious, only nine thousand a month?”

”No choice, although the decor and furniture are top-notch, the location isn’t great,” the female agent said, somewhat helplessly, ”Otherwise, such a luxuriously decorated place at nine thousand a month would have people scrambling for it. I once suggested to the owner to lower the price a bit; she disagreed and even said she didn’t care if it can be rented out or not. Indeed, she’s married to a wealthy man and doesn’t care about that small amount of money.”

Oh.

So that’s how it is.

Lu Li really liked it.

On the premise that there were no issues with the apartment, he immediately said, ”Let’s go back and sign the contract.”

The female agent was overjoyed.

At first, she hadn’t held much hope.

Who knew that not only was this Mr. Lu in front of her good-looking,

But he was also so affluent, willing to rent a ”mansion” at nine thousand a month!

The two of them rushed back to the agency to sign the contract.

Since the brokerage fee is split between the tenant and the landlord,

With a deposit and three months upfront, Lu Li spent a total of forty thousand five hundred.

...

After signing the contract and getting the key, Lu Li quickly went back to his previous rental apartment.

He stuffed all his clothes, quilts, and everything into the car.

A man’s belongings are generally few, just about filling a car.

Then, he returned to Poly Yuxi.

He moved all his things into his new home.

Once everything was done, Lu Li planned to lie down and rest for a bit.

Gazing at the eighty-eight thousand eight hundred bed,

Lu Li thought to himself, ”I must see the difference between this eighty to ninety thousand bed and an ordinary bed.”

With that thought, he lay down.

A feeling of extreme comfort came over him.

Lu Li let out an involuntary breath of relief.

He finally understood the difference between this eighty to ninety thousand bed and an ordinary bed.

Lying on this bed, he felt like he was in a beautiful setting reflected against a blue lake.

The comfort of the mattress, almost perfectly fitting his body, was indescribable in words, only to say it was extremely comfortable.

”What kind of life was I living before!”

Lu Li couldn’t help but lament.

For the first time in a real sense, he truly experienced how the wealthy enjoy life.

Just a single bed felt so comfortable.

Other aspects of enjoyment must be things that many people without money cannot imagine.

Lu Li pondered silently in his heart, ”With my genetic lock unlocking and the ability to develop more and more skills, I will surely earn a lot of money in the future and live the truly luxurious lifestyle of the rich!”
