Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Evolving into a God

Took out the phone and opened TikTok.

Lu Li immediately found the video he liked last night, then watched it with utmost attention.

He wanted to know if the drastic change in his body overnight was due to the genetic unlocking as this amateur science popularizer suggested.

”Friends who often talk about evolution must know...”

The familiar voice of the young vlogger came through the phone.

Lu Li slightly adjusted the progress bar.

The young vlogger said, ”...So, what happens if all genetic locks are unlocked?”

This was where he saw up till yesterday.

Lu Li, seeing it reached where he wanted, stared at the screen earnestly.

”Evolution!” The young vlogger decisively proposed a possibility, then continued with a deep tone, ”Endless evolution, until...becoming a deity!”

Huh?

If all human genes are unlocked, does it mean evolving endlessly to become a so-called deity?

Lu Li didn’t know what the young vlogger based this claim on, so he continued listening intently.

The young vlogger changed the topic, ”The brain is the most crucial organ for humans. It not only controls the body’s central nervous system, transmitting sensations to various body parts, but also is the root of human consciousness, granting emotions like joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. However, human brain development has stagnated, with modern brain development almost identical to our ancestors, Homo sapiens! Hence, despite knowing the importance of brain development, effective methods aren’t available!”

Lu Li nodded in agreement.

The young vlogger went on, ”Apart from the brain, humans have another thing to develop, which is our genes!”

Finally, it got to the part he wanted to hear.

Lu Li turned up the phone volume slightly to avoid missing anything.

”We know humans possess an extensive genetic sequence, yet nearly 99% of these genes seem useless to us, with only about 1% deciding our innate strengths and weaknesses. It’s no exaggeration to say these genes determine our lifespan, health, etc.”

The young vlogger spoke eloquently, ”For humans, is the remaining 99% truly useless? Actually, I personally believe those genes are human shackles!”

Lu Li thought, ”Your talk is overly verbose, can’t you just get to the point?”

”According to Darwin’s theory of evolution, humans evolved from other animals, retaining some genetic sequences from them. The essence of evolution is about survival of the fittest, implying that the gene sequences humans retain should be advantages from various animals!”

The young vlogger showed a meaningful expression, ”What’s unfortunate is that this isn’t the case; we don’t have dog-like hearing or cat-like vision! Is this because humans don’t need them? Actually, despite having a developed brain, preserving the essence in evolution should be central to evolutionary theory, and not all humans lack abilities from other animals. Some special individuals can use these abilities. For instance, some can emit sonar like dolphins, some have extraordinarily developed hearing, while others possess vision far superior to ordinary people!”

Exactly.

Why do some people have ”special powers” while most do not?

Lu Li also found it very curious.

The young vlogger explained, ”This means these abilities might exist within our genetic sequence, simply restricted, and some people have lifted these restrictions due to unknown reasons. The genes controlling these abilities might be hidden among the ones we deem useless.”

Lu Li nodded slightly, thinking it’s a possibility.

The young vlogger took a deep breath, ”So, hypothetically, what would happen if humans unlock all their genes?”

Lu Li was exasperated, didn’t you just mention endless evolution, until becoming a deity?

The young vlogger continued, ”It’s certain that if humans truly develop all their genes, our physical condition would reach a terrifying state! Furthermore, because the genes in our brain cells are fully unleashed, consciousness would become exceptionally strong, making it not an exaggeration to say humans could possibly obtain mythical powers only ’deities’ in legends have!”

At this time, the phone screen changed to show a picture of a peregrine falcon.

The young vlogger exemplified, ”It’s well-known that the peregrine falcon’s vision is among the best on Earth. If you unlock all your genetic locks and want to have a vision as strong as a peregrine falcon, I can only say it would be easy, and even far beyond that.”

Holy crap!

Humans having vision like a peregrine falcon?

And even more than that?

Lu Li could hardly believe it.

It’s known that a peregrine falcon’s vision is eight times better than humans.

Therefore, even at a thousand meters high, peregrine falcons can clearly see prey on the ground.

If all genetic locks are unlocked, could humans possess such strong vision?

Then, no need for binoculars anymore to peek at girls bathing...

Uh, anyway, having great vision is awesome.

Lu Li thought having vision like a peregrine falcon was impressive enough.

Who knew the young vlogger would reveal even more shocking information, ”Peregrine falcon-like vision is trivial for someone with all genetic locks unlocked. Even mythological Thousand-Mile Eye vision, seeing thousands of miles away, is just one feature. You can develop your eyes to have X-ray, microscopic capabilities, detect heat sources like infrared, and if paired with powerful ’Spiritual Power’ to calculate particle changes, your eyes could even...see changes in the future!”

My Fack!

X-ray vision?

Microscopic?

Infrared?

And even seeing future changes?

Lu Li was truly astonished, thinking, does it have to be this exaggerated?

If he had X-ray vision, what would happen?

Lu Li once read a novel called ”Golden Eye.”

In it, the protagonist possesses X-ray vision, earning loads from gambling on stones.

Although he knew real stone gambling wasn’t as exaggerated as novels, usually with clear or semi-clear markers indicating the jade quality inside, X-ray vision seemed too exaggerated.

Imagine if you had X-ray vision.

Then, the world would almost have no secrets for you, as long as you wanted.

Applying it to business, earning money would be as easy as drinking water.

For instance, helping people with bids.

Normally, no one knows the tender price.

But with X-ray vision, you could see the tender price, thus securing the project at minimal cost, how much could you save?

This is just an ordinary function of X-ray vision.

It has far more uses.

Lu Li always thought X-ray vision was exaggerated.

Today, hearing the young vlogger talk about eyes also being ”microscopic,” he realized what’s even more extraordinary.

Combining the young vlogger’s previous statements, the microscopic meaning seems to imply seeing the particle composition of everything.

If you had microscopic ability and delve into physics, wouldn’t you easily win Nobel prizes?

Not to mention seeing through the future.

Lu Li was momentarily shocked, unsure if the young vlogger’s words were accurate.

The young vlogger continued elaborately, ”The eyes are just one aspect; your ears, Spiritual Power, internal organs, and every pore would become extraordinary. For instance, when evolving to a ’higher-level organism,’ pores could absorb free energy, freeing you from food and drink, even allowing survival in the Cosmos...”

He elaborated a long paragraph.

Lu Li was too astonished, his mind in chaos, making it hard to focus on listening.

But towards the video’s end, he roughly understood the young vlogger’s perspective.

It’s about unlocking genetic locks, making humans god-like entities from myths and legends, possessing immense powers like moving mountains, redirecting rivers, and various ”conceptual” mythical abilities.

For instance, Iron Man’s suit in sci-fi movies.

If your Spiritual Power is strong enough, you could even ”materialize” it out of nothing.

This is a True God’s ability!

It’s essentially like being the Creator!

Lu Li truly didn’t expect that unlocking all human genetic locks could lead to such immense power.

At that moment, he just wanted to say, if the strange dream he had last night wasn’t false, could it mean he really has a chance to become a deity?

Perhaps even one day becoming...the Creator?

Although it’s uncertain whether there are ”Thousand-Mile Eye,” ”X-ray vision” or other mythical abilities, further experiments would reveal the truth.

But either way, Lu Li knew that with the drastic changes overnight, his life had become fundamentally different from ordinary people!
