Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Spending Money Feels Great

Originally, my assets were down to just seven bucks.

But thanks to the miraculous effect of my one-millimeter X-ray vision, I suddenly made over eight thousand.

Made eight thousand four hundred and thirty-five, cost me forty, with seven left in the bank card, adding up to eight thousand four hundred eighty-two bucks!

Lu Li had never had this much money since he started working.

He was so excited that he couldn’t help himself, grinning foolishly nonstop.

After enjoying his delight for a while, Lu Li lay on his bed, blinked, and pondered, ”With more money on hand, should I buy a couple of well-fitting clothes?”

Ever since he got slimmer and more handsome, none of his clothes fit.

Besides, President Liu also mentioned during the day that a leader needs to dress like a leader, with style.

Previously, with an empty pocket, he couldn’t afford new clothes and had to make do with old ones.

Now that he has over eight thousand bucks, he should definitely buy new clothes.

”Buy, let’s buy now!”

Lu Li couldn’t sit still.

He directly stuffed the money into his pocket.

Lu Li got up and walked outside.

While walking, he was still secretly mulling over.

The biggest gain tonight was not just earning over eight thousand, but discovering a way to make a fortune.

The one-millimeter X-ray vision might not seem like much, but it’s actually very powerful.

You can see this from how playing scratch-offs tonight earned him over eight thousand.

Lu Li thought that as long as he went to a lottery store for scratch-offs every day, it wouldn’t take long to get rich.

Of course, he wasn’t reckless, knowing not to overdo it.

Otherwise, attracting attention might get him dissected.

So Lu Li decided that while making money from scratch-offs was fine, he shouldn’t frequent the same store.

”A different lottery store each day.”

Reaching the entrance of the rental house.

Lu Li pondered secretly, ”And each time, pick a few losing tickets to mislead others, mustn’t give away any clues.”

...

Lu Li first found an ATM nearby.

Deposited all the hundred-yuan bills into his bank card, except for the change.

Then, he headed to the nearby mall.

It was past eight in the evening.

There was still some time before the mall closed, enough to shop for clothes.

But a new problem arose.

What level of clothes should he buy?

Lu Li’s financial situation used to be not so great.

Most of his clothes were bought with money his parents gave him during school.

Generally, they were only one or two hundred bucks each.

Now he’s in society.

And has a little money in hand.

He’ll be taking on a leadership role.

He thought the clothes shouldn’t be too shabby.

At least not the one or two hundred bucks kind.

Of course, too extravagant isn’t good either.

After all, he only has over eight thousand bucks.

If he were to buy luxury goods, even one piece might exceed his assets.

”Let’s check out Nike and Adidas first, get two sets of sportswear for comfort, and later buy two business outfits, gotta give President Liu some face.”

Honestly, after discovering the money-making method with the one-millimeter X-ray vision, Lu Li wasn’t so focused on his job.

But just buying scratch-offs wasn’t a long-term plan either.

He didn’t plan to quit until he developed a new skill or found a safer way to make money.

Besides, now that he’s in a leadership position, being able to manage people, he has gained some social status.

Therefore, Lu Li isn’t planning to give up his job.

At least not for now, he doesn’t plan to slack off.

Lu Li confidently took the elevator to the third floor.

Went into the Nike store.

The saleswoman’s eyes lit up when she saw him and immediately came over to greet him, ”Hi there, buying clothes?”

Two female cashiers behind the cashier counter also took notice of Lu Li.

”Wow.”

”He’s so handsome.”

The cashiers whispered.

Even though the sound was low, the store was empty and quiet, so Lu Li heard it immediately.

He felt deeply satisfied inside, but maintained his composure and replied, ”Yeah, buying clothes.”

”Shall I recommend something?” the saleswoman asked.

Lu Li waved his hand, ”I’ll have a look myself.”

The saleswoman seemed a bit disappointed, ”Alright.”

Lu Li wandered casually around the store, finding two really nice styles.

He asked the saleswoman to take them down so he could try them on to see if they fit.

Finally, they felt really fitting when he put them on, so he also picked out two pairs of pants.

Men are quick shoppers when it comes to clothes.

In a short time, Lu Li had picked out two T-shirts, two pairs of sweatpants, a few pairs of socks, three or four pairs of underwear, and two pairs of sneakers.

No choice, all his clothes were too big, he had to buy all new ones.

At the checkout counter, Lu Li asked, ”How much in total?”

The two female cashiers kept staring at him.

The slightly chubby cashier gave a sweet smile, ”Just a moment, I’ll calculate it.”

Lu Li responded, ”Okay.”

A minute later.

The slightly chubby cashier looked up and said, ”A total of three thousand four hundred forty-nine.”

If he had spent nearly thirty-five hundred on clothes in the past, Lu Li definitely would have been reluctant.

But tonight, he had just earned over eight thousand, and he didn’t feel any pain, paying without hesitation.

After paying, Lu Li left the Nike store with a bunch of bags.

Spending more than thirty-four hundred at once.

He not only felt no pain, on the contrary, he felt a bit delighted inside.

The main reason was that the money came too easily, so Lu Li didn’t hesitate to spend it.

Walking through the shopping mall corridor, he pondered to himself, ”I’ve got my casual clothes, now maybe I should go buy a set or two of business attire.”

Being a leader requires having the demeanor of one, and that includes attire.

Lu Li knew it was necessary to buy business attire.

Because he had just spent over thirty-four hundred, Lu Li wasn’t willing to buy too expensive business attire either.

...

He arrived at the Youngor store.

This is a mid-range brand.

As soon as Lu Li walked in, he encountered a similar situation as in the Nike store.

A few female sales assistants and cashiers all glanced over.

There was no help for it, he was just too handsome.

One of the female sales assistants with a ponytail immediately came up, ”Hey handsome, looking to buy some clothes?”

Lu Li straightforwardly said, ”Shirts and dress pants.”

”Alright, please follow me.”

The female sales assistant first took Lu Li to the shirt section, pointing to a few shirts, ”I think with your good figure, these types of shirts would look good on you.”

Lu Li looked closely.

One was a light blue shirt.

The other was a traditional white one.

The female sales assistant’s taste was indeed good, these two shirt styles looked nice.

Lu Li asked her to take them down, then went into the fitting room to try them on.

As soon as he came out and looked in the mirror, he heard the female sales assistant and cashier chatting in hushed tones behind him.

”He looks even more handsome in the shirt.”

”Oh my, why are there such handsome men in the world?”

”What do you guys think, should I ask him for his contact information?”

The girls were swooning.

Lu Li vaguely overheard their conversation, and couldn’t help but feel secretly proud, thinking that being handsome is indeed an advantage, attracting attention wherever he went.

Hmm, well, President Liu is definitely not a woman.

Otherwise, why would she be so indifferent to him?

Soon, Lu Li finished trying on the clothes and picked two pairs of dress pants.

He went to the checkout counter to pay.

Lu Li asked, ”How much in total?”

The female cashier’s gaze flickered slightly, and she took out her phone, ”Hey handsome, if you sign up as our member, you’ll get a discount.”

Although he earned money relatively easily, it’s foolish not to take advantage of a deal.

Lu Li’s eyes lit up, ”What’s the discount?”

The female cashier kept staring at Lu Li’s face.

She said, ”Twenty percent off, how about it, would you like to join as our member?”

Actually, regular members don’t get a twenty percent discount; it’s only on their birthday that they get this high of a discount.

The female cashier offered a twenty percent discount to get an opportunity to obtain Lu Li’s contact, giving him an employee internal price.

Lu Li didn’t think much of it, ”Sure, help me sign up.”

It didn’t take long for the female cashier to help Lu Li sign up as a member.

Then, she calculated and looked up, ”Two shirts, two pairs of dress pants, the original price is one thousand seven hundred sixty-seven, after the discount, it’s a total of one thousand four hundred thirteen and six cents.”

By becoming a member, he saved over three hundred.

Lu Li was quite satisfied with this.

He quickly scanned to pay.

Leaving with a bunch of clothes bags.

He couldn’t help but reflect, just this morning he was still worrying about difficulties eating for the next few days, as he only had forty-nine bucks left.

Little did he expect that in one day, he would spend almost five thousand just on clothes in one evening.

Life changes, to say the least.

Lu Li knew that the reason for his rapid transformation was entirely due to the one-millimeter clairvoyant eyes.

The most important thing was, this one-millimeter clairvoyant ability was just a trivial evolution after unlocking his gene lock.

If more abilities evolve, money and status will surely come more easily.

This thought greatly excited Lu Li, considering whether to continue seeking ways to evolve.

What should he actively evolve next?

He hasn’t thought of an answer yet.

Still, Lu Li’s mood was quite good.

Or rather, he truly felt great spending money tonight.

The clairvoyant eyes evolution was definitely worth it!
