Build a Fifty-meter Giant Mecha at the Beginning!

168: Materials science takes advantage of the favorable conditions, and space battleships are on the agenda.Although The Top Leader didn’t know what Great God Zhang Yuanhang was about to invent, from what he said, this invention was definitely not simple.

Otherwise, Zhang Yuanhang wouldn’t have so seriously informed the security personnel.

With The Top Leader’s command, a large number of personnel and soldiers came to stand guard outside Zhang Yuanhang’s room.

Everyone’s guns were loaded with live ammunition; if anyone dared to rush over without authorization, a storm of metal would greet him!

Old Wang also personally took charge there at this time.

His face was very serious, but at the same time, he was incredibly happy in his heart.

Zhang Yuanhang was about to invent something new.

This scene unfolding within Shancheng Military Base also made the researchers working in the base realize that Great God Zhang Yuanhang had gone into seclusion again.

”Good heavens, I truly exclaim, good heavens! How long has Great God Zhang Yuanhang been resting? He’s gone into seclusion again!”

”Compared to all that, I’m more curious about what Great God Zhang Yuanhang is going to invent?”

”Exactly. Looking at the intensity of the surrounding security, I believe this time’s invention must be quite extraordinary!”

...Although the researchers in the base were all curious about what Great God Zhang Yuanhang would invent this time, they didn’t neglect any of their work.

After half a month of Zhang Yuanhang’s tireless overtime, he finally finished drawing all the blueprints for the Ion Engine.

When Zhang Yuanhang pushed the door open and emerged, Old Wang was the first to rush to his front.

Seeing Zhang Yuanhang’s rosy complexion, Old Wang immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

Then he quickly asked, ”Little Zhang, are you feeling unwell at all?”

Zhang Yuanhang was a national treasure of Huaxia and couldn’t have any problems.

”Old Wang, don’t worry, my body is perfectly fine,” Zhang Yuanhang said, patting his chest.

Old Wang nodded at this and then asked, ”Little Zhang, what did you invent this time?”

Everyone present pricked up their ears curiously.

”I invented a new type of engine,” Zhang Yuanhang said, thinking of the Ion Engine’s data, his entire face beaming with a smile. ”The Ion Engine, its maximum speed can reach one-tenth the speed of light.”

”So it’s thi—”

Old Wang suddenly froze. What did he just hear?

One-tenth the speed of light!!!

”Little Zhang, are you sure this new engine you invented can reach one-tenth the speed of light?”

Old Wang trembled with excitement.

Although Old Wang knew in his heart that Zhang Yuanhang wouldn’t fabricate data, he still wanted to ask.

”Mhm!”

Zhang Yuanhang nodded.

”Originally, I thought it would take us several years, or even decades, to make a breakthrough in engine technology. I never expected, Little Zhang, that you would once again lead us to a breakthrough.”

To be honest, Old Wang was already quite satisfied with the Nuclear Fusion Engine Zhang Yuanhang had invented before.

But how long had it been?

Zhang Yuanhang had actually made another breakthrough in engine technology, and the progress was so terrifying.

”Old Wang, perhaps we can build humanity’s first Space Battleship now.”

A glimmer of light appeared in Zhang Yuanhang’s eyes.

The emergence of the Ion Engine not only propelled a great leap forward in engine technology, but materials science also took advantage of this momentum to achieve rapid development.

Because many of the materials used in the Ion Engine were entirely new materials, their strength and other properties completely surpassed current Huaxia materials.

They would be excellent for building Space Battleships.

”Space Battleship, huh!”

Old Wang’s eyes lit up.

Although Huaxia’s current military strength in Space included powerful Aerospace Fighters and versatile Space Combat Platforms, the various leaders in the Capital still felt a lack of a large-scale weapon to compensate for everyone’s fear of insufficient firepower.

The Space Battleship Zhang Yuanhang spoke of now could perfectly fill this gap.

”Little Zhang, go ahead and do it boldly. Just tell us what you need. As long as you need it, even if it’s the stars in the sky, the motherland will get them for you!”

Old Wang said.

”Alright, Old Wang, then I’ll have to trouble you later.”

Zhang Yuanhang directly pulled out a list from hisin my arms, on which everything Zhang Yuanhang needed was written.

”No problem, Little Zhang,” Old Wang waved his hand. ”I’ll personally oversee it.”

After speaking, Old Wang took people to collect these goods for Zhang Yuanhang.

Zhang Yuanhang wasn’t idle either; he found Leader Jia.

”Leader Jia, are there any newly built Kunpeng Space Freighters in Space?”

Zhang Yuanhang planned to install two Ion Engines on a Kunpeng Space Freighter for debugging and to collect some data.

”Yes, Little Zhang, do you need one?”

Leader Jia asked.

”Yes, I need a Space Freighter for an experiment later.”

Zhang Yuanhang nodded.

”Alright, Little Zhang, I’ll go report it now and ask the higher-ups to reserve that newly built Kunpeng Space Freighter for you.”

Leader Jia said.

If it were anyone else, Leader Jia wouldn’t even bother, as Mars was currently waiting for people to be sent to develop it.

One Kunpeng Space Freighter could transport many more things, but since the person asking was Zhang Yuanhang, it was different.

Even if Mars were to collide with Earth, it would still be reserved for Zhang Yuanhang.

”Alright, thank you, Leader Jia.”

With preparations complete, Zhang Yuanhang then took some researchers to start manufacturing the Ion Engine from scratch.

As soon as Leader Jia reported the news to the Capital, the leaders in the Capital approved it without a second thought.

They even asked if one Kunpeng Space Freighter was enough, and if not, they could recall the Kunpeng Space Freighter assigned to the Mars mission.

Guanghan Palace Lunar Base.

Under the efforts of Academician Wu leading researchers and Sentinel Mecha, the Electromagnetic Railgun was completed.

”Academician Wu, the recent tests showed all data to be normal.”

A researcher, smiling, handed the data in his hand to Academician Wu.

”Good, good, this Electromagnetic Railgun can now be used normally.”

Academician Wu examined it carefully, found no problems, and breathed a sigh of relief.

At this time, people traveling on the Moon were all taking out their phones to photograph the Electromagnetic Railgun.

”Commander, should we stop them?”

A staff member of Guanghan Palace saw this scene and turned to look at his boss, Song Jiang.

”No need. No one can learn from it.”

Song Jiang said with a smile.

As these tourists posted their photos to their social circles, it wasn’t long before Foreign powers discovered them.

Some media outlets with no journalistic integrity directly claimed that Huaxia had installed a mysterious super cannon on the Moon.

They declared that the safety of The Entire Blue Star was in Huaxia’s hands.

Huaxia was quite speechless about this; their goal was the sea of stars, not this small patch of Earth.
