A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 889: Chapter 881: Deathly Stillness

Two blood-red moons appeared in different parts of the sky over the Screaming Cockroach World.

Green stood high above in the Space Fortress, seven-colored runes flowing, while beneath him, among the numerous slave monsters, tens of thousands of Demonic Hunter Dark Wizards and more than two hundred thousand Demonic Hunter Bright Wizards were rubbing their hands together, a glint of excitement showing through, waiting eagerly for the Space Fortress to completely descend upon the Screaming Cockroach World.

To the Stigmata Sorcerers, the Screaming Cockroaches had no valuable resources, however, for the Official Sorcerers, this world still had quite a strong allure in terms of resources, such as the Essence of Wisdom Tooth found within the Mother Nests of successive Mothers of Cockroaches, said to have the effect of delaying the aging process of Official Sorcerers!

Certainly, however, this won’t break the shackles of the ten-thousand-year lifespan limit.

Buzz, buzz, buzz...

A large number of Flapwing Cockroaches were flying unconsciously near the Space Fortress, searching for possible food.

These are members of the Screaming Cockroach species with flight capabilities, yet at this moment, Green gazed down on this strange world from atop the Space Fortress; these Flapwing Cockroaches amounted to only tens of thousands in number, most of which weren’t even considered first-level creatures.

Feeling the gradually stabilizing time-space distortion forces around the fortress, for those above the fortress, crossing the Gate of Space-Time seemed but a mere moment, yet for these Exotic Creatures, months, years, or even decades had already passed.

”Great Stigmata Sorcerer of the Oblivion Tower, the Heart of the Fortress has already linked with the Space Fortress where the Destruction Sword Stigmata Sorcerer resides, and in one-thirtieth of an Hourglass’s time, we shall completely descend upon the Screaming Cockroach World.”

Within the Crystal Ball, Andre reported the expedition status to Green.

”Alright, prepare for descent, pass the word, I want to conquer this world within thirty years,”

With profound greed and ambitions unfathomable, after a brief command, Green shut the Crystal Ball, eyes under the Face of Truth scanning around, searching for any powerful beings that might be near the fortress, yet finding none.

The desolate land had no vegetation, all was gray and bleak, only bare rocks remained exposed.

The ominous sky held only brief periods of full day and midnight, most of the time shrouded in gloom.

”Truly a world filled with deathly air, it has devoured all the resources of the entire world; most Screaming Cockroaches, due to hunger, have fallen into a low-vitality-consuming slumber...”

Beneath the Eagle’s Eye of the Face of Truth, Green gazed down upon the Screaming Cockroach World; on the dull gray rock background lay densely packed darker Screaming Cockroaches, almost becoming one with the ground, covered by thick gravel, with life soul frequencies extremely low, barely consuming any energy.

One wonders for how many decades or centuries these Screaming Cockroaches have slept here due to hunger, just waiting for fresh food to appear to awaken them from their slumber!

Green murmured quietly.

Xiao Ba quipped, ”Gagagaga, these Screaming Cockroaches with their resilient vitality can easily be cultivated, their vitality unbelievably strong, truly perfect organisms for breeding soul slaves.”

That’s right!

Seemingly remembering something else, Xiao Ba instructed, ”Better remind those little fellows to collect the corpses promptly; if this world’s Screaming Cockroaches were entirely awakened, there’s plenty of fun to be had.”

According to Green and Youquan’s battle plans, their Space Fortress need only conquer successive Screaming Cockroach Mother Nests, and these endless sleeping Screaming Cockroaches could easily be transformed into their colossal Soul Slave Monster Corps through control over the Mother of Cockroaches and sufficient food supply.

The prerequisite being these Screaming Cockroaches remain without sufficient food to awaken them.

Thus, the Combat Command had long since instructed every Demon Hunting Expedition Wizard on these precautionary measures.

If one’s soul slave perishes, collection must occur promptly!

Buzz...

With the Source Will Space Fortress of the Wizard World completely immersed into the Screaming Cockroach World, the heavy and massive steel city aura met the world’s resistance; the vast Sorcerer’s Cloak above the fortress vanished instantly, followed by orders from the Space Fortress Combat Command, the amassed sea of Soul Slave Monsters scattered towards all directions like a tidal wave.

Buzz, buzz, buzz...

Attracted by the smell of food, nearby Flapwing Cockroaches flew over of their own accord, yet these mere tens of thousands, mostly of low-grade creatures, posed no threat to the Soul Slave Monster Corps.

Like moths to a flame.

These Flapwing Cockroaches were quickly repulsed by the sea of soul slaves, where tens of thousands of soul slaves guarded the Space Fortress tightly, impenetrably.

The Source Will Invasion Technique of the Wizard World was quietly underway.

The base of the Space Fortress opened, revealing Space Airships clad in metallic armor characteristic of the Wizard World, mechanical arms wielding energy Giant Swords, main cannons aiming in all directions, patiently awaiting the success of the Wizard World Source Will Invasion.

Aside from the brief resistance posed by the Flapwing Cockroaches, there were no further anomalies, the world due to resource depletion appeared dead on the surface; the Mothers of Cockroaches showed no peculiar reaction to the two blood-red moons.

The Demon-Hunting Wizards flew quietly around the Space Fortress, observing the world’s rules.

A few Hourglass lengths later.

The Combat Command ordered a low-intelligence Smart Mechanical Puppet to deliver a living specimen of a Flapwing Cockroach to Green; this specimen exceeding two meters in length shivered before Green, showcasing signs of self-aware intelligence.

Within the Screaming Cockroach World, aside from the Mothers of Cockroaches possessing strong reproductive abilities, few Screaming Cockroaches held such intelligence.

”Little one, fear not, heh heh, allow yourself to feel the greatness of the Wizard’s Will sincerely, you’ll come to love it.”

Putting away the ”Book of Truth,” Green extended his left hand, gently stroking the armor of the Flapwing Cockroach as if petting a pet.

”The defensive power is quite acceptable, the hardness can withstand attacks below fifty degrees; in terms of biological evolution level, it’s fairly competent, as for the unparalleled cellular vitality...”

Green appeared quite satisfied; slowly, a cluster of Saint Trace Soul emerged in his hand, emitting the transmutation aura of a High-order Being; Soul Fire gradually formed into a ghostly face with a spiral pattern resembling the Face of Truth and seeped into the Flapwing Cockroach’s intelligent body.

Instantly, the cockroach convulsed in pain endlessly, its six limbs twitching, with a feeble soul fluctuation.

”Hurry and take Master Eight to find the Mother Nest; Master Eight’s little brothers are already impatient, gagagagaga!”

Buzz!

The invasion of the Origin Space Fortress into the Screaming Cockroach World proceeded exceptionally smoothly, and soon within the Origin Will of the Screaming Cockroach World, the Wizard’s Will permeated through, resulting in transparent Sorcerer’s Cloaks sprouting upon the Space Fortress, Space Airships, and Demon-Hunting Wizards.

Green appeared somewhat excited, somewhat expectant; this world, in the future, shall belong to him.

Controlled by the Soul Fire, this Flapwing Cockroach was now leading Green and the Demonic Hunter Wizards to sweep the Mother Nests one by one, yet Green seemed to suddenly notice something, gazing in shock towards the ground.

”This is...”

On the ground above, originally merged with the earth and stone the life aura of endless Screaming Cockroaches, now some began to exhibit signs of awakening and agitation.

Upon closer inspection, Green finally discerned some anomalies.

These Screaming Cockroaches that had fallen asleep due to hunger were awakened by the scent of blood and flesh from their brethren’s fallen corpses killed by the Soul Slave Monster Corps.
