A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 858: Chapter 851: Old Geezer

”Which Great Sorcerer is descending, causing such slaughter, attempting to reverse the academy war?”

Green gazed at the ground filled with numerous Wizard corpses, ravines crisscrossing, muttering in a deep voice as if recalling himself from hundreds of years ago.

It was also through such violent slaughter that the war situation at the Superconductive Light Mechanical Sorcerer Academy in Sky City was changed.

”So much killing, yet on the forefront of the war of civilizations.”

Green’s sigh could not capture Xiao Ba’s interest; the deaths of mere hundreds of Wizards meant little to Xiao Ba, who remained engrossed in his new batch of nuts from the Second Ring Holy Tower.

”After all, the full-scale war preparation has not officially begun yet. It must be a rising Great Sorcerer from Wizard World taking action to gather resources. How else could one stir legendary waves in Wizard World without causing a few grand events?”

”Crunch.” Xiao Ba crushed the nut in his mouth and grunted, ”Didn’t you do the same hundreds of years ago, spreading your grand name throughout Wizard World through such slaughter?”

”Yes.”

Green nodded with a sigh, no longer paying attention to the war between the Mist Storm Wizard Academy and the Mystery Hand Sorcerer Academy, riding the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird onward to the direction of the Second Ring Holy Tower.

...

In the Ruined Wall City, where Second Ring True Spirit Wizards offer True Spirit Dedication through Wizard Currency, the human style contrasts significantly with other Holy Towers.

The Ruined Wall City of the Second Ring, built upon the expansion relics of the fallen Ancient Wizards in Sky City, is filled with metal houses on the ground, looking gray and somewhat unsettling.

To maintain the historical relic’s consistency, newly built structures in the Ruined Wall City later adopted the same construction techniques as the Ancient Mechanical Wizards, making the entire city appear a monotonous gray, lacking the charm of the stone paths under the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Tree of Life or the unique appeal of the Six-Ring Turtle Shell.

Green arrived at the Second Ring Holy Tower for three purposes.

Firstly, to challenge Severnese one last time before advancing to Stigmata, marking the end of his Third-Level Great Sorcerer career, and fulfilling his lifelong goal since apprenticeship to prove he was never just the shadow of Master Sister Youquan.

Secondly, seeking approval from the Second Ring Holy Tower to establish the Oblivion Tower Sorcerer Academy at the Abyssal Mountain Range, thereby formally commencing his Stigmata Sorcerer career as a Second Ring Holy Tower Stigmata Sorcerer, stepping beyond the realm of Official Sorcerers in five hundred years.

Thirdly, participating in the grand opening of the Sorcerer Conference, representing Green’s first entrance into the highest tier meetings of Wizard World, signifying his formal entry into the governing echelon of Wizard civilization.

Although Green’s status lacked voting rights within the Wizarding Alliance, merely as an observer, it was nonetheless a supreme honor.

After more than ten days.

Roaming within the Ruined Wall City for a while, even without revealing his identity, his First-Level Honor Medal Demon-Hunter Wizard status naturally attracted many Wizard’s eyes upon him, which Green took for granted.

He already stood at the pinnacle of Wizard World; if he ascended to Stigmata Sorcerer in the future and wandered as such, that would be his descent upon Wizard World.

Buzz!

Through the Lever of Destiny Gate of Space-Time, Green approached the gray sky of the Second Ring Holy Tower World.

The Second Ring Holy Tower, a ten-thousand-meter metal Holy Tower, seemed to lack some Wizard essence compared to the Seven-Ring Holy Tower but was much larger in scale, with far more Demon-Hunting Wizards and Space Airships than in the Seven Rings Sanctum World.

”Honored Great Sorcerer, may I inquire what service you require?”

Approaching the matrix teleportation gate of the Second Ring Holy Tower, a Second Ring Messenger Fire Lin Rabbit inquired, showing respect naturally due to Green’s status as a Third-Level Great Sorcerer under the attention of the Wizard World’s will.

The flames on its body were exceedingly red, unbearably hot, and its pair of reddish eyes gazed at Green.

Unlike the special structure of the Seven-Ring Holy Tower, access to the Second Ring Holy Tower was only possible through the matrix teleportation gate, leading into the interior of this metal Holy Tower, the heart of the Second Ring World.

”I need to visit Severnese inside the Second Ring Holy Tower.”

Upon Green’s words, the Fire Lin Rabbit paused for a moment before replying solemnly, ”Severnese, who once dominated single-handedly, advanced as an Overmagic Hand Stigmata Sorcerer one hundred and fifty years ago. You must use the World Transmission Formation to visit the Overmagic Hand Secret Realm.”

Under the Face of Truth, Green’s dual-colored eyes constricted in astonishment!

Unexpectedly, the one he regarded as his hope for validation had already... already advanced to Stigmata.

”Oh!? Damn, my lord came all this way, his last effort across centuries, only to hear that Master Eight has ascended to Stigmata Sorcerer. Tell Master Eight how he...”

Indescribable solitude and loss, Green stood before the matrix teleportation gate for some time before regaining composure, disguising his dim eyes as Fire Lin Rabbit patiently responded one sentence at a time to Master Eight’s unruly clamor.

”I understand, I just came to stroll around the Second Ring Holy Tower.”

Green’s voice was deep, the sharp light of his original enthusiasm now inevitably dimming.

With no more regrets attached to being an Official Sorcerer, it’s time to embark on the Road of Stigmata.

Buzz!

The matrix teleportation gate twisted space-time, transporting Green to a world of blue seas and skies, filled with birds and floral scents, fresh air, skies with clouds shaped like people flying past. This was a city of nature, where vegetation and Wizard architecture perfectly integrated into the environment, vines extending.

After three Hourglass times.

”Is this Severnese’s former residence... alas, missed by one hundred and fifty years. At this time, among those who could understand the strength I possess in Wizard World, who are still worth all my strength, who would demonstrate my prowess? Dark Sorcerers? No, they are merely madmen wielding the power of human despair; they won’t comprehend the achievements of Elemental Wizards...”

Indescribable loneliness and solitude.

Green stood for a long while before Severnese’s former residence, attracting curious glances from some Second Ring Holy Tower Wizards passing by, yet due to the aura of Green’s First-Level Honor Medal, none questioned further.

”Damn! My lord, don’t be silent, are you okay?”

Xiao Ba asked dazedly, finally awakening Green from deep solitude and regret, gently shaking his head.

”I’m fine.”

Saying this, Green turned around, looking towards a Wizard restaurant hotel perched atop a nearby tree entwined with vines, speaking softly, ”Xiao Ba, how many years has it been since we last got drunk together?”

Oh!? First in surprise, then Xiao Ba grunted, ”Have we ever been drunk together?”

”Come to think of it, we indeed haven’t.”

Green hesitated for a moment, then headed directly to the restaurant with Xiao Ba, indulging in drink after drink in solitary melancholy, saying nothing, leaving Xiao Ba feeling the richness of the feast even tasteless.

Until several Hourglass times later.

An uninvited Wizard sat opposite Green, similarly radiating First-Level Honor Medal waves.

”Ha, what a shame, the one hailed as the strongest Grand Elemental Sorcerer, Severnese, has already advanced to Stigmata, he’s lucky. I’ve heard that the strong ones on the Wizard Continent prefer hiding in the depths of the Holy Tower. Old man, care to step outside to play with me?”

This Abyssal Wizard, with scars across his face, was a rising star making waves these years, having just dismantled the Mist Storm Wizard Academy, the Five-Star Abyssal King, Guramo.

Old man?

Play?

Under the Face of Truth, nine-tenths drunk dual-colored eyes glanced at this unfamiliar Wizard, suddenly chuckling lightly, not knowing why to laugh, as if seeing through his former self, believing Wizard World was all there was.

”After Agrimond, another rising Abyssal King of the Abyssal Underworld, huh?”

Shaking his head, Green looked up, downed his liquor in one go.

”Little one, go challenge those Elemental Wizards of your level. There are many on the Wizard Continent, you are not alone. If unsure, perhaps I can recommend a few to you.” (To be continued.
