A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 875: Chapter 868: Mountain of Heavenly Ladder

One month later.

”It is said that in ancient times, the Continent of the Gods was teeming with countless ancient Holy Realm beings, with all creature races flourishing. Many innate deities perfectly aligned with the laws, even the Supreme Main God, existed, their strength far surpassing that of the current Continent of the Gods. The Mountain of Heavenly Ladder was the source of chaos in the ancient wars, a forbidden land on the Continent of the Gods.”

At this moment, nearing the center of the Continent of the Gods, the geomantic attraction grew ever stronger, nearly a hundred times that of the Wizard World!

As a result, the land became increasingly desolate, with only a few high-order beings adapted to the intense gravitational environment, and continuous mountain ranges shrouded in a faint aura of death.

Even the native sacred peak Black Dragon of the Continent of the Gods found flying extremely difficult at this moment.

”The Lord of **?”

Official Sorcerers hunt for world resources, Stigmata Sorcerers hunt for world treasures, True Spirit Wizards hunt for world history, and Green, who understands these basic principles, is undoubtedly the one most interested in the history of the Continent of the Gods among the four.

According to Green’s speculation, the Lord of ** who initiated the ancient war of the gods during that period was likely a Level Eight Being!

This grand world could not possibly be as simple as it seems on the surface.

Regarding this death-filled area, Xiao Ba clearly showed little interest, hiding directly in the Dimensional Gap.

”Indeed! Once this Supreme Main God was unsealed, the ancient war unfolded swiftly, the skies darkening, with no light from sun or moon. The Mountain of Heavenly Ladder was the battlefield’s center, where countless ancient beings fell. The corpses of these formidable beings altered the rules of the land, nurturing what is now the vast endless sea of undead. The deities here are called Nether Gods by the continent.”

The Nether God System and the Divine System have long stood against each other, with the Overseas Dragon God Lineage and the Sea God Lineage eyeing each other. Chaos Demons invade, joining forces with the Devil Lord Lineage, and occasionally, Foreign Evil Gods are pulled in by gravitational rules. This world is indeed at the peak of chaos.

The land was enveloped in a gray, deathly mist, occasionally echoing with long howls.

As a sacred peak creature of the Continent of the Gods, the Black Dragon had once foolishly and fearlessly crossed the sea of undead, but the horrors encountered made it never dare to enter a second time.

As it carried everyone now, it perfectly avoided some scattered Nether God Temples.

”Hehe, it’s just a result of the powerful gravitational rules, with phantoms and the bones of powerful beings merging. It’s a natural phenomenon occasionally occurring even in some phantom worlds.”

The Stigmata Wizard of Netherheart held a disassembled Ghoul for study and said lightly, before discarding the experimental research materials.

Not having traveled the phantom world, Green was unfamiliar with it but was somewhat interested in the Power of Chaos from the Chaos Demons. Meanwhile, he communicated with the Black Dragon’s soul, toying with a pair of Chaos Demon horns in his hand.

Roar...

Ahead, from a gigantic mountain filled with death energy, a Corpse Dragon over fifty meters long suddenly flew out, clearly sensing the invading Black Dragon, charging straight at it.

”Damn, it’s the Ancient Corpse Dragon King!”

Sensing the aura of an even stronger undead sacred place Corpse Dragon, the Black Dragon King exclaimed in shock, then remembered it was carrying four deities on its back, which eased its mind slightly.

Any of these four Foreign Evil Gods could easily deal with this sacred domain Corpse Dragon with a flick of a hand.

However, what the Nine-Fury Stigma Sorcerer said next left the Black Dragon incredulous, horrified, and in despair.

”Looks like this Black Dragon is no longer suited to travel in this area, and I’m hungry anyway. Let’s change our mount.”

With cold ruthlessness, the Nine-Fury Stigma Sorcerer crushed the Black Dragon’s spine with a foot, its giant snake heads biting down.

...

Ten days later.

They arrived at the foot of Ladder Mountain on the Corpse Dragon. Amid the Corpse Dragon’s terror and despair, Netherheart extracted its Soul Fire and consumed it, saying lowly, ”There are many Nether God Temples here. Consume the Nine Netherworld Springs, and remember, do not use any magic. We must climb up bit by bit.”

Before them, the Mountain of Heavenly Ladder was swarming with undead creatures. Decaying flesh, bones, and a nearly tangible death aura enveloped the mountain, up into the cloud-covered peak.

As a Stigmata Sorcerer, having gone through the stages of a wizard apprentice and official sorcerer, such things were long beneath notice.

Gulp, gulp, gulp.

The four cautiously wrapped the Nine Netherworld Springs with their magic, consumed them, and a miraculous thing happened. A death aura began to emanate from their bodies, no different from the countless low-level undead creatures around them.

Without intelligence, these low-level primitive beings no longer feared them, merely seeing them as ordinary Saint Domain undead passing by.

”It’s done.”

Pleased, the Stigmata Wizard of Netherheart began ascending this holy land of undead, the Mountain of Heavenly Ladder at the Earth’s Vein World center.

Roars reverberated repeatedly, the density of Third-Level Saint Domain undead creatures was astounding, carefully avoided by the three disguised. As for the Nether God Temples, with multiple mountain-climbing experiences, the Stigmata Wizard of Netherheart naturally avoided them early on.

”Hmm!?”

While steadily climbing to the Mountain of Heavenly Ladder’s summit, Green suddenly sensed something unusual. Under the Face of Truth, his bicolored eyes shifted, and after a moment’s glint, he leisurely waved the extreme abyss magic staff in his hand.

”What’s wrong?”

The aura of primal dark mysterious power caught the attention of Youquan next to Green, looking over with slightly surprised sharp, cold eyes beneath white bandages.

”Nothing, just an interesting undead creature, a decent specimen.”

Under Green’s control, the primal dark mysterious power acted like a nimble tentacle, bypassing a group of zombies and skeletons. Sliding through the legs of a patrolling Abomination, it circled within a giant bone’s cavity, capturing a hazy gray shadow.

”Hisssss...”

A shriek came from the Soul Fire, as the shadow grasped by the primal darkness slowly morphed into a skeleton. The death-imbued bone blade attempted to sever the primal dark mysterious power entangled around it, but to no avail, quickly dragged to Green’s side.

”Another creature utilizing the power of dark element shadows.”

In the Abyssal Underworld, Green had obtained the lotus seeds of the Illusory Lotus, yet to cultivate. Here, he unexpectedly acquired a specimen to further study the primal dark mysterious power.

”Don’t waste time, we have little of it.”

Ahead, Netherheart spoke, turning back, and Green nodded. With his left hand opening the ”Book of Truth,” he softly chanted sorcery spells, sealing the strange shadow skeleton into the World of Oblivion.

Splash, splash, splash...

Each step squashed numerous corpse insects underfoot, the splattered sticky liquid becoming a feast for other corpse insects.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

Countless gargoyles flew across the sky in flocks, and on the Mountain of Heavenly Ladder, the four ”little undead” climbed slowly amidst the dead aura and skeletons towards the summit.

One day and night later.

”This... this is the embodiment of the Truth Principle, truly marvelous!”

Hidden among numerous skeletons, avoiding the distant Nether God Temples, the four stood silently at the mountain peak of the Mountain of Heavenly Ladder, feeling the wonders of this world’s miracle.

With a flash on Green’s shoulder, Xiao Ba crawled out from the Dimensional Gap. (To be continued. If you like this work, please visit Qidian () to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please read on m..)
