A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 869: Chapter 862: Bloodthirsty Demon King

In the Temple of Night within the Sylbes Mountains, the descent of four Foreign Evil Gods naturally became the temple’s highest secret, protected by the utmost confidentiality to prevent leaks.

More than ten days later.

The black chaotic aura swept across the sky, covering it entirely.

The demons surging from the chaos rift were by no means weaklings. They embodied the power of a mighty mid-level Civilization World. Trapped in this world without Endless Dominators, they couldn’t fully control and rule, yet they formed a devastating torrent, ravaging the original pantheon system, leaving destruction in their wake.

With black skin, a round belly, slender limbs, a tail as long as their body covered in scales, thief-like ears atop their heads akin to goblins, and burning black-gray chaotic flames at the tips of their curved horns, these were the Chaos Demons that intruded upon the Earth Vein World, also called the Continent of the Gods.

Boom, boom, boom, boom...

On the ground, millions of demons charged forth; some were mere centimeters long, while others reached nearly a hundred meters. However, the Chaos Demon Clan seemed not to base strength on size.

Snap!

The crack of a whip.

”Heh heh heh heh! Forward! Keep moving! Once we conquer the Temple of Night, all the Catpeople of the Sylbes Mountains will become our slaves, and I will ascend to become one of this world’s native deities, heh heh heh heh heh...”

The Bloodthirsty Demon King, brandishing a long blood-colored whip, grinned savagely, his eyes filled with greed and craving, as the immense power pressure directly pointed to the distant mountain peak, where the serene Temple of Night loomed.

This was one of the most powerful subordinates of the Chaos Demon Lord that invaded the Continent of the Gods—the Bloodthirsty Demon King.

Following behind the Bloodthirsty Demon King, over a thousand varying-sized Chaos Demons cackled together, flying towards the Temple of Night like a black cloud.

Due to the Earth Vein World’s powerful gravitational rule, no creature below the sacred realm—a Third-Level Creature with Half-Step Chronos ability—could fly.

These thousand seasoned sacred realm Chaos Demons could make even deities fear them, not to mention the four...

”Heh heh heh heh...”

Filled with confidence, the Bloodthirsty Demon King’s grin grew even wider.

”I hear the Night Goddess is one of the few goddesses who master exalted laws in this world. I wonder if that old cat lady can handle the majesty of the great Chaos Demon, heh hahahahaha...”

Wherever the Chaos Demon army trampled on the grassland, dirt flew, plants withered, and some wildlife that couldn’t flee in time was devoured on the spot, blood flowing everywhere.

...

”Damn it, there are quite a lot of them.”

Xiao Ba roughly counted the sacred realm demons flying in the sky, about one thousand seven hundred.

Inside the Temple of Night, the Stigmata Wizard of Netherheart, Nine-Fury Stigma Sorcerer, Destruction Sword Stigmata Sorcerer, and Oblivion Tower Grimm gazed out the temple window at the distant Chaos Demon army.

”That is indeed a Level Five Creature! Later, pay attention to the situation; as long as we kill those four Third-Level Chaos Demons wielding chaos magic instruments according to the contract, we’ll immediately leave the Sylbes Mountains for the World Heart of Earth Veins; we mustn’t get involved in the pantheon war of this world.”

The Stigmata Wizard of Netherheart had a grave expression and added, ”If the situation doesn’t look good later, even if we have to hide for three months and wait for the rejection of the Balance Rules to return to Wizard World, we cannot be caught in this world’s pantheon war, or at the present chaos, it’s no less than a regional civilization war.”

”Perhaps we could try siding with the Chaos Demons.”

The Destruction Sword Stigmata Sorcerer, after observing the power comparison between the Temple of Night’s Catpeople army and the Bloodthirsty Demon King’s demonic legion, suddenly proposed.

”No!”

”No!”

Youquan’s suggestion was unanimously rejected by both the Stigmata Wizard of Netherheart and Grimm.

After exchanging a glance, the Stigmata Wizard of Netherheart first said, ”The Night Goddess is one of the rare beings in this world capable of external communication. Without her, we likely won’t be able to return to this world again. Laying a mark in this world? Every world node has a temple; it’s simply impossible.”

Grimm also solemnly stated, ”The Stone of Original Sin is undoubtedly a materialized Mysterious Power. I suspect this world once had Dominators beyond the Endless World! Although there are no signs of Civilization World, there might be more than one Dominator born here, or else the ancient war of this world wouldn’t be talked about. If any of those Dominators returns from their travels...”

The Nine-Fury Stigma Sorcerer’s voice was low as he said, ”It’s a pity this is too far from Wizard World; otherwise, if we could pull this grand world into the Wizarding Alliance before the civilization war...”

...

On one side, nearly a million Chaos Demons invaded the Continent of the Gods, overwhelming the sky. At their helm was the Bloodthirsty Demon King, one of the Chaos Demon Lord’s most capable subordinates.

On the other side were more Catpeople behind the defenses of the Sylbes Mountains.

Countless crossbows, rolling logs, and fire oil traps were in place, with tunnels dug from the ground to the mountaintops, and great bodies of sacred place powerhouses once fallen in the Sylbes Mountains were hung high to intimidate.

However, compared to the over 1,700 flying Chaos Demons, the 300-plus sacred realm Catpeople of the Sylbes Mountains seemed rather pitiable, with some Temple Priests using divine power among them.

At the forefront of the numerous Catpeople stood Herneao, one of the three High Priests of the Temple of Night.

The old Catwoman’s expression was stern. After performing a final mass before nightfall, she flew out from the Catpeople’s ranks, surveying the powerful Chaos Demon army, and looked towards the mighty Bloodthirsty Demon King, calling out, ”Honorable and great Bloodthirsty Demon God, may I ask why the Demon King has led these many demon strongmen to descend upon the Sylbes Mountains?”

”Lowly servant, summon your Night Goddess.”

With her round belly, the Bloodthirsty Demon King looked down disdainfully at the old Catwoman, as if not even caring to talk to such a weak creature.

The old Catwoman, wreathed in the divine power of the Night, remained resolute, saying, ”The Night Goddess is not in the temple at this time. Whatever the great Bloodthirsty Demon King wishes to command, I will do my utmost and spare no effort.”

”Roar! You eyesore, get out of my sight!”

Suddenly, a colossal claw formed of chaotic power slapped down like lightning, darkening the sky completely by blocking the last ray of sunset.

”Great Night Goddess, your humble servant beseeches your guidance, to empower me with the mighty divine power of the night against the enemies of the temple’s doctrine! Spell, Dark Night Insight!”

In panic, the High Priest of the Temple of Night extended her scepter, summoning the divine power of the night, flowing like a gentle stream to meet the attack.

Yet how could borrowed divine power face the might of the Bloodthirsty Demon King, who surpassed even the Night Goddess? The serene and peaceful night power began retreating; as the colossal claw of chaotic power was about to disperse the divine power of the night and kill the High Priest...

Buzz!

Suddenly, a tide of faith towards the Temple of Night surged forth, descending with divine power far more magnificent—ten times greater than the High Priest’s summon—clashing with the giant claw of chaotic power.

Boom boom boom...

The magnificent pressure from the collision forced even the Bloodthirsty Demon King to retreat in the air. Enveloped in scales and tail, his eyes shone with greedy excitement.

”Heh heh heh heh, Night Goddess, become my subordinate deity or offer your Divine Grace. Choose one!”

Enshrouded in the divine power of the night, a seductive and sleek black cat form over two hundred meters long with eyes of darkness gazed at the invading Foreign Evil God, and in a deep voice, said, ”Your demon horns will become the most prized collection of the Temple of Night in this pantheon battle.” (To be continued.
