Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Bang! Bang!

Huangzhou Prefecture’s Science and Technology Department, a place ordinarily forbidden to anyone, is seeing a crowd of people entering today.

They accompany the true master of Huangzhou Prefecture to inspect this future key development area.

Chen Jie was holding a single-barrel firearm at this time, taking the gunpowder barrel handed over by Tao Guangyi. This gunpowder barrel was made by hollowing out a bull horn, making it convenient to pour gunpowder into the gun barrel.

Chen Jie took the gunpowder barrel and poured gunpowder into it, added iron sand, then took a long iron rod with a cotton cloth plug to stuff the gunpowder tightly inside the barrel.

After that, facing the target fifty meters away, he lit the fuse at the back with a torch.

Bang!

With a gunshot, the wine jar placed fifty meters away was immediately blown apart.

”Good!”

Seeing this power, many people applauded. Although the firearm’s power was generally ineffective against strong martial artists, it posed some threat to those below the Energy Transformation level.

It’s very useful for ordinary soldiers.

Chen Jie slightly frowned, Tao Guangyi looked at Chen Jie and asked, ”Is there something the lord is dissatisfied with?”

Chen Jie pondered upon hearing this and said, ”There are actually many improvements that can be made to this firearm.”

”To give you a suggestion, this bull horn gunpowder is not precise enough, we could set a standard, using parchment to pack the gunpowder and iron sand together, so during battle it’d be like a package for each shot, more precise.”

Upon hearing this, Tao Guangyi said, ”Hmm, that’s a good idea.”

Chen Jie continued, ”Also, the ignition procedure is too cumbersome, not suitable for single-person operation. Can you modify it so it can fire without needing ignition?”

Tao Guangyi frowned and replied, ”But without fire, how can gunpowder be ignited? That’s impossible.”

Chen Jie said, ”There’s nothing impossible in this world, watch.”

While speaking, Chen Jie snapped his fingers, and flames appeared on his fingertip instantly. Tao Guangyi said, ”The lord is powerful, able to conjure fire from thin air, but ordinary soldiers can’t do that.”

Chen Jie replied, ”I’m not here to show off my martial arts, but to tell you a principle, that there are many things in nature that can produce fire.”

”Let me ask you, how do common people usually light fire for cooking?”

Tao Guangyi replied, ”Using the Fire Stick perhaps.”

Chen Jie asked, ”Before the Fire Stick, then?”

”With flint!”

Tao Guangyi’s eyes lit up, instantly thinking of a possibility, striking flint together creates fire, so isn’t it possible to use two pieces of flint.

He felt himself enlightening, Chen Jiusi’s cue let him see through the fog, revealing the sun and moon.

Chen Jie smiled at seeing Tao Guangyi like this and said, ”Wait, don’t leave yet, there’s a third point.”

Chen Jie said, ”Third, this gunpowder also needs improvement. What’s the current ratio of nitrate, sulfur, and carbon in the gunpowder?”

”Equal parts of each.”

Chen Jie thought for a while and said, ”One-to-one-to-one ratio isn’t good, you could try one part nitrate, two parts sulfur, three parts carbon, and try to eliminate impurities to improve the quality of the gunpowder.”

”One nitrate, two sulfur, three charcoal.”

Upon hearing Chen Jie’s whole plan, Tao Guangyi sank into a manic state, feeling that he’s about to invent the most powerful gunpowder in the world, now having an urge to immediately report to the Ministry of Industry personnel to research.

Chen Jie, seeing Tao Guangyi’s reaction, understood that his forces would soon be equipped with flintlock guns!

Following this, Chen Jie also visited the steel mill under the Ministry of Industry.

The steel mill is the most important part of Chen Jie’s future military industrial system, having invited the best blacksmiths, and improved steel refining methods, adopting the blast furnace ironmaking method.

Among them, scale refining was far better than the previous small workshop-like blacksmith shops.

In addition, the steel mill also has a weapons production facility, which undertakes the supply of all weaponry for Chen Jie’s forces, ensuring quality and quantity in producing qualified war knives and others.

Through this round of inspection, Chen Jie saw the entire Huangzhou Prefecture’s rapid progress and its future war potential. Now Chen Jie just needs to wait for the opportunity, then there’s a possibility for a meteoric rise.

Development, must develop quickly now, nothing can affect Huangzhou Prefecture’s development potential.

However, Huangzhou Prefecture also has its fatal weakness, which is too few Wudang experts, still because Huangzhou Prefecture lacks foundation. If given twenty years’ time, Chen Jie is confident in nurturing five or six Melt God Realm experts for Huangzhou Prefecture, about ten Molten Furnace Realm, Dragon Realm countless.

But Chen Jie doesn’t have time, not even five years for the twenty years.

Why would Chen Jie make a two-year plan instead of a five-year plan?

The reason is that the arrival of war, the chaos of the world, might not have even five years left.

Therefore, all of Chen Jie’s current policies are inclined towards military, securing the nation first.

After visiting today’s work, it was extremely dark, Chen Jie was escorted back to the mansion, and the two wives immediately came forward, Chen Jie comfortably had dinner.

At night, Chen Jie stayed in Su Yunjin’s room.

As he was dreaming while cuddling his soft wife, suddenly outside torches lit up, the torchlights were bright, and Chen Jie’s Spiritual Sense far exceeded ordinary people, feeling the commotion outside, he turned over and sat up.

Su Yunjin also woke up startled, drowsily asking, ”What’s wrong, husband?”

Chen Jie said, ”It’s nothing, go back to sleep.”

Saying this, Chen Jie got up to put on clothes, and Su Yunjin couldn’t sleep either, she also sat up and dressed.

At this moment the door was banged loudly, Chen Jie was stunned and said, ”Who?”
