Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

Hearing Tuotuo’s words, Li Siqi frowned directly, his face carrying an unwilling expression: ”Lord Prime Minister, we agreed that I would only deploy troops to help you attack Bright Peak. Entering the Capital is not within the scope of my promise!”

At this moment, the Ruyang King also slightly frowned. A vassal king entering the Capital is not a trivial matter; it indeed requires long-term planning.

Tuotuo said: ”I know, I know the difficulties both of you face, but you can also see that the Zoroastrian Sect will definitely not easily let us send people to the Capital, and this journey is so long that relying solely on General Boluo will not suffice.”

”So I ask you both to help more, and moreover, in a month it will be His Majesty the Emperor’s birthday. Our entry into the Capital is just in time to celebrate His Majesty’s birthday; wouldn’t that be accomplishing multiple things at once?”

Tuotuo smiled and persuaded the two in front of him. Hearing this, King Qi Li Siqi looked troubled and said: ”Lord Tuotuo, I know this matter is difficult for you, but it is also difficult for me. This time I brought along thirty thousand troops of the Grey Wolf Army, and within my territory, there are still several rebel armies not yet eradicated. If I do not return for a long time, I’m afraid the Northwest will become tumultuous. If I cannot hold the Northwest under control, wouldn’t I be failing the court.”

”So I ask Lord Prime Minister to understand that I cannot follow you into the Capital this time; I also ask for your understanding.”

Seeing Li Siqi’s firm refusal, Tuotuo frowned slightly and said: ”King Qi, isn’t this somewhat unkind?”

Li Siqi replied: ”My King Qi Residence follows the imperial command to guard the Northwest, and the Northwest Road, with peace being my duty. This time I came to assist already exceeds my duty scope. If it were not for Lord Tuotuo insisting, I might not even have returned, so sir, we cannot push people too hard.”

”After all, I am also a vassal king who obeys orders but not summons, Lord, don’t treat me as a nobody.”

Li Siqi said to Prime Minister Tuotuo. Seeing Li Siqi was so resistant, the Prime Minister looked at the Ruyang King and said: ”Prince, you are a Prince by status, whether Little Ming King can safely reach the Capital concerns the court’s security; you surely wouldn’t stand aside, would you?”

Ruyang King heard this and looked troubled; Li Siqi looked at Ruyang King and said: ”Ruyang King, aren’t there still many matters within your territory to handle?”

Ruyang King heard this and looked at Li Siqi. Li Siqi subtly shook his head, signaling Ruyang King not to act impulsively.

Tuotuo naturally saw this and quickly said: ”Prince, Jiangnan is stable at the moment, but if Little Ming King cannot reach the Capital, it will become a big issue. If there are problems during our escort, it won’t just cost me my life; I’m afraid the court’s reputation will suffer greatly.”

”Moreover, His Majesty’s birthday is soon approaching, and he wishes to see the Prince, his relative. Why doesn’t the Prince take this opportunity to have a good brotherly reunion with His Majesty? Additionally, the issue with the Commandery Princess has impacted His Majesty greatly. Prince, you could explain to His Majesty personally; after all, you are cousins without any unsolvable hatred!”

”Preventing gaps between brothers is beneficial to the country!”

Tuotuo persuaded the Ruyang King, and hearing this, the Ruyang King looked thoughtful, undecided for a moment.

At this moment, Boluo Timur beside him spoke up: ”Cha Han, a great taboo in the military is when the sovereign and general are at odds; I think you should go to the Capital and explain your situation, to avoid discord between lords and ministers.”

Ruyang King heard Boluo’s words, frowned, and thought: ”Hmm, then I will go with you to the Capital!”
