Daily Intelligence System: Don't Kill Me, Honey!

A night without words, the next day Chen Jie spent the entire day with his wife and children, while at the same time, the capable subordinates under Chen Jie’s command in Huangzhou Prefecture also successively arranged their work and returned.

It was rare for Chen Jie to have such a leisurely gaze, spending the day chatting and laughing with the two ladies.

In the evening, he engaged in small exercises that benefited both body and mind, and incidentally expressed his affections; it was truly quite comfortable.

Compared to the bloody storms outside, this Huangzhou Prefecture was simply a safe haven.

But Chen Jie also understood that this safety was only temporary. It was because he experienced blood and storms outside, fighting life-and-death battles with others, that he could ensure the peace of Huangzhou Prefecture and the safety of his family.

So there are certain things that can’t be avoided just because he does not want to do them.

The larger the scale of his actions outside, the safer his home actually becomes; this is what Chen Jie currently needs to do.

Comfort is only temporary; conflict is the main theme. In such a turbulent world, one must never slack off and must courageously move forward.

At the White Tiger Army garrison in Huangzhou Prefecture, Chen Jiusi climbed the high platform and gave an inspiring speech to the ten thousand elite White Tiger Army below.

The soldiers below listened and applauded enthusiastically.

This was already the third day, and Chen Jie had convened all the leadership teams of Huangzhou Prefecture to start his planning for the future two years of Huangzhou Prefecture, including aspects such as the military, politics, economy, culture, education, technology, and so on.

Participants in this meeting included military leaders.

The Deputy Commander of the entire army, the Chief of the White Tiger Army Chen Xiaohu, the Chief of the Azure Dragon Army Jin Yanzi, the Chief of the Vermilion Bird Army Wu Daojun, the Chief of the City Defense Army Zhou Chu, and the Head of the General Staff Bai Mosheng, etc.!

The main political leaders, namely the heads of the Civil Servant Group.

The Supervisor of Huangzhou Prefecture Si Xi, Deputy Supervisor Hu Weiyong, Supervisor of the Inspection Department Wu Hong, and the Chief of Public Security of the Six Prefectures Zhang Liye, etc.

The main leaders in economics.

The Chief of Economy for Huangzhou Prefecture, the richest man in Jiangnan Shen Wansan, and representatives from his business alliance, as well as representatives from the manufacturers in Huangzhou Prefecture.

The main leaders in education and culture.

That is, the heads of each academic institute. In theory, Chen Jiusi concurrently held the position of Education Director, but in reality, the Deputy Director was Su Yunjin, Mrs. Su.

However, on such occasions, Su Yunjin did not participate in the conference, so each head of the academic institutes attended as representatives.

Next is technology.

Technology under Chen Jie’s development has been the fastest, and the main person in charge of the Science Academy also attended.

It is the Minister of the Ministry of Industry in Huangzhou Prefecture, Tao Guangyi, a key figure that Chen Jie focused on, because in original history, this person was quite famous; the first person in China to reach the skies was Wan Hu, who was he.

This person loved to research gunpowder.

And he put forward many principles of gunpowder far beyond this era.

For example, the propulsion theory of gunpowder.

Chen Jie read this article and felt deeply moved. There is no doubt this person’s mind was very useful, especially in regards to gunpowder.

He said that the explosion of gunpowder can generate immense power instantly, and if that power can be guided in one direction, then it becomes a massive force.

It can even break mountains and split stones.

After seeing this, Chen Jie sought out Tao Guangyi and provided him with a thought, which was, could gunpowder be put in an iron tube, one end sealed, the other as the firing direction.

Tao Guangyi was greatly shocked, and immediately designed the Huangzhou No.1 firearm.

However, after designing this firearm, there was a problem; it only produced sparks without much lethality.

Tao Guangyi hurriedly asked Chen Jie what to do about this.

Chen Jie immediately provided a solution, mix iron sand into the gunpowder.

Using iron sand to scatter and injure.

Tao Guangyi returned to experiment immediately and reported back that the lethality was still unsatisfactory, and the range was very far.

Chen Jie proposed the compaction theory, which means the gunpowder needs to be more compact, and also the air-tightness should be enhanced.

With such improvements, the Huangzhou No.2 firearm was born, and its lethality was quite considerable. Within fifty meters, the iron sand could spray out, but this range was still a bit close for bows and arrows, and further improvement was still ongoing.

Currently, improvements on the Huangzhou No.3 firearm are underway.

This time, Tao Guangyi also attended the meeting.

Additionally, there is the healthcare system in Huangzhou.

In regard to the healthcare system in Huangzhou Prefecture, two towering figures were dispatched.

One is the current Chief of Healthcare in Huangzhou Prefecture, Bai Wenjing, and Deputy Chief Liu Yishou.

These two currently manage all the medical centers in Huangzhou Prefecture and, under the encouragement of Chen Jie, established the first medical college in Huangzhou Prefecture for the large-scale training of doctors.

In this way, Chen Jie essentially gathered all the prominent figures under his command and began his plans for the future of Huangzhou Prefecture.

First is: expansion of the army, continued expansion of the army. Currently, the elite corps has only over 30,000 people, this is too few and insufficient to cope with future situations.

So, Chen Jie’s goal is that within two years, the three elite corps will expand to 60,000 people, 20,000 people per corps, and the recruitment standards must not be lowered; they must be the elite of the elite.

In fact, if he lowered the standards, Chen Jie could instantly form hundreds of thousands of troops, but having too many cannon fodders is useless.

Additionally, along with the expansion of the main corps, preparations for the expansion of reserve corps and city defense army will need corresponding policies.

Moreover, Chen Jie is also preparing to establish the fourth main corps in two years, the Black Tortoise Army, and he has decided that Du Xiong will be the commander.

Furthermore, Chen Jie has certain ideas for the construction of the Black Tortoise Army, it cannot be a traditional ordinary corps; Chen Jie wants to construct a new style of corps.
