Chapter 100 -95: Laozi hit, it’s you Chen 36

“Manager’s order, all Fishing Guild disciples, bring your weapons and immediately head to the Manager’s house. There’s an important matter to discuss.”

“Manager’s order, all Fishing Guild disciples, bring your weapons and immediately head to the Manager’s house. There’s an important matter to discuss!”

…

Orders were passed down one by one, and soon the disciples, armed, arrived at the Bai Family.

At that moment, with the support of Bai, Wu Zhong sat in the rattan chair where Doctor Bai usually sat.

Chen Jie and Wu Hong were present as well, and the four captains were all there.

This included the Second Ship Leader, who had been ordered to capture the Big Ship Leader. Everyone stood in the small courtyard of the Bai Family.

Chen Jie and Wu Hong sat not far away on the stone mill, while Su Yunjin stayed inside with Bai, and Ruirui was with Doctor Bai in the pharmacy.

Now, both Su Yunjin and Ruirui were forced to stay at the Bai Family, and even Chen Jie stayed overnight at the Bai Family, as they couldn’t return to their home for the time being.

*Having offended Yu Biao, Yu Biao dared not storm the Bai Family, but the possibility of him going to Chen Jie’s home to catch him was ever-present.*

*Moreover, since Wu Zhong was injured, the Fishing Guild currently lacked competent combat power, and thus dared not officially declare war on the Guild Cao. Additionally, neither side was prepared to report yesterday’s incident.*

*Because it’s unspeakable,* Yu Biao could say he failed to assassinate Wu Zhong, which was disgraceful.

*And what could Wu Zhong say?*

*Although he was ambushed, he also killed Yu Sanliu’s son. Let bygones be bygones.*

*Even if it were reported, the higher-ups would likely be unwilling to pursue the matter too harshly.*

*After all, the Mulan people currently required both sides to cherish peace, and the Fishing Guild maintained a facade of peace with the Guild Cao.*

*Therefore, both parties were trying to control the situation. If grudges persisted, they would be settled in the upcoming Village Chief Battle in a few days!*

However, although a direct fight with the Guild Cao was not feasible, Wu Zhong did not intend to spare the traitors within the Guild. Hence, the internal meeting of the Fishing Guild began.

The disciples of the Fishing Guild witnessed their manager’s severe injuries, grinding their teeth in anger, eager to slay their Guild Cao enemies immediately.

However, Wu Zhong urged everyone to remain as restrained as possible while issuing commands.

[First, capture the Big Ship Leader Zhao Xun. Such traitors must not remain!]

[Second, maintain internal stability and thoroughly investigate any other involvement within the fishery on this matter.]

[Third, account for those who caused chaos in the confusion yesterday, such as Lu San and Chen Sanliu, the disgrace of fellow villagers!]

After the three orders were issued, the disciples of the Fishing Guild looked solemn and filled with resentment. No one had expected the Big Ship Leader would betray the guild and collude with Yu Biao from the Guild Cao to ambush their manager.

At this point, the Second Ship Leader, Li Sanding, stood up and clasped his fists.

“Brother Wu.”

“Hmm?”

Wu Zhong looked at Li Sanding, who clasped his fists and said, “Brother Wu, I acted on your orders and immediately went to apprehend Zhao Xun, but I didn’t expect the scoundrel had already packed up, deceived our warehouse guards, and took nearly a month’s worth of our fishery’s tax money!”

Wu Zhong’s face darkened at the words, “That scoundrel indeed escaped. However, it’s alright. I will report this to headquarters. Additionally, Sanding, you and Old San take people and immediately pursue him. Retrieve as much as possible.”

“Yes.”

Upon hearing this, Li Sanding immediately clasped his fists in agreement.

He was confident about capturing the Big Ship Leader, as his strength was considered third in Xiantao Town.

He was older than Zhao Xun, only three years younger than Wu Zhong. When Wu Zhong became the Big Ship Leader, he was the Second Ship Leader, and later when Wu Zhong became manager, he thought he could become the Big Ship Leader, but unexpectedly, Zhao Xun was parachuted in.

Zhao Xun was not as strong as him, but relied on connections above to become the Big Ship Leader directly.

Over the years, he had been discontent, and now, with the chance to capture him, he was delighted. He was confident in his strength, too.

Especially recently, by a stroke of luck, his martial arts had improved.

He even believed he could exchange blows with Yu Biao!

At this point, he rose and left with the Third Captain to intercept Zhao Xun, determined not to let that scoundrel escape.

The two quickly exited the Bai Family Mansion.

At this time, the Third Captain looked at the Second Ship Leader, Li Sanding, and said, “How will we catch him?”

Li Sanding thought for a moment and said, “Pursue toward the county town. I feel this guy won’t run too far!”

Upon hearing this, the Third Captain said, “Brother Li, the manager has already reported this matter to the headquarters. I assume the headquarters will respond, so we shouldn’t focus on capturing Zhao Xun right now.”

“Hmm?”

Li Sanding looked at the Third Captain, who said, “There are only eight days left until the Village Chief Battle.”

“What do you mean?”

“Brother Li, with the manager injured like this, he surely won’t be able to fight. We can’t just concede directly, so the burden of fighting the match will likely fall on you.”

“Me?”

Li Sanding was surprised.

The Third Captain said, “That’s right, it’s you, Brother Li. Moreover, this matter holds great advantages for you. Haven’t you always wanted to be the Big Ship Leader?”

“This time, if you can show your face in the Village Chief Battle, you don’t even need to win. Just maintain our Fishing Guild’s dignity, and Master Peng will regard you highly. Then, your position as Big Ship Leader will stabilize, and you might even become the manager in the future.”

“And I, as your brother, stand to gain too, haha…”

After hearing this, the Second Ship Leader’s eyes lit up.

Indeed, this was an opportunity.

The Third Captain continued, “So, Brother Li, the most important thing now is the Village Chief Battle. If you can’t hold your ground for even one move and embarrass yourself, it won’t end well.”

Hearing this, Li Sanding laughed heartily, “Hahaha… Old San, you underestimate me too much. I haven’t neglected my martial arts over the years. Although I may not be able to defeat Yu Biao, I am confident in holding my own against him.”

“That’s fine, Brother Li. If you can draw with Yu Biao, you’ll have shown yourself to the Sect Master. Big Ship Leader and even manager positions will be yours in the future.”

Hearing this, Li Sanding grinned, “Hahaha, good, good…”

He dearly needed this opportunity.

…

Meanwhile, inside the house, Wu Zhong looked at the Fourth Captain and said, “Fourth Brother, once you return, immediately initiate an internal audit within the guild. All brothers who followed the Big Ship Leader should report to you for investigation, confessing any issues they have and ensuring the innocent are cleared early for peace of mind.”

“Furthermore, Fourth Brother, you must ensure this matter is handled truthfully. No collective punishment, understood?”

“Yes.”

The Fourth Captain clasped his fists,

although he understood the nature of his task.

Clearing out the Big Ship Leader’s remaining disciples was a side matter, but collecting additional evidence of his crimes was the main task.

Such as embezzlement, corruption, abuse of power, and sales of fishery staff positions.

Additionally, bringing out a few disciples closest to the Big Ship Leader to be expelled from the fishery as a warning to others was necessary.

It was not about collective punishment that would hurt the fishery’s core.

The most important aspect was to definitively establish the Big Ship Leader’s crimes; once the evidence was solid, presenting it to headquarters would leave him with no escape.

The Fourth Captain left with a bow.

At this point, Wu Zhong glanced at those remaining and said, “Fifth Brother.”

Zhou Chu stood up, and Wu Zhong said, “Fifth Brother, you and Chen Xiaohu take ten Fishing Guild disciples to deal with those who stirred up trouble last night.”

Hearing this, Chen Xiaohu was instantly excited. Who else caused trouble last night but Lu San and Chen Sanliu?

These animals used the chaos last night to move all the valuables from home and even occupied Brother Jiu Si’s house. When his mother confronted them, they dared to insult his mother.

Made his mother sick with anger.

And his father, limping, went to confront them.

*Guess what Chen Sanliu said,* “Cursing my father for being unfaithful, betraying ancestors, and doing immoral things with that Chen Jiusi.”

*He even wanted to ask the Clan Leader to expel our family, as well as Brother Jiu Si’s family, from the clan!*

*Shaming our ancestors!*

*His father flew into a rage immediately, swinging his cane to hit him, but Chen Sanliu just pushed him to the ground, while Lu San mocked,* “A dead cripple pretending to be something important!”

“*Too much bullying, too much bullying!*”

Zhou Chu also knew of yesterday’s situation and clasped his fists, “Yes, Manager.”

He then turned to Chen Xiaohu and said, “Let’s go, brother, time for revenge!”

Hearing this, Chen Xiaohu glanced at the silent Chen Jie, who nodded slightly.

Xiaohu smiled, “Alright, Brother Zhou, I’ll be counting on you later.”

Zhou Chu replied with a smile, “Don’t worry, brother, at the very least, I’m a Skin Buff Martial Artist.”

He then looked at Chen Jie and said, “Brother Jiu Si, we’re off.”

Chen Jie returned the gesture, “Old Zhou, thanks for your hard work.”

“Haha, alright, just don’t forget to treat me to a drink. Just saying thanks with words won’t do.”

Chen Jie also laughed, “Sure!”

Chen Xiaohu and Zhou Chu, along with a dozen Fishing Guild disciples, turned and began making their way towards the village.

As for the remaining Fishing Guild disciples, Wu Zhong said, “The rest of you, return to the fishery and carry on as usual!”

“Yes.”

Everyone scattered in a flurry.

…

At this moment, inside Chen Sanliu’s house, Chen Sanliu was in high spirits, sipping wine and eating scrambled eggs. He had found these eggs at Chen Jie’s place; they seemed to be for hatching chicks, but he thought, hatch chicks?

Forget that, he directly cooked them into scrambled eggs.

A life with wine and eggs was boundlessly delightful.

On the other side, his son, Chen Xiong, was happily munching on a bun.

At this moment, Chen Sanliu’s wife came over and said, “Sanliu, are we doing the right thing?”

“What’s wrong with it?”

Sanliu looked at his wife, unconcerned.

Then his wife said, “That Chen Erba, after all, is your cousin, and his son is in the fishery. You hit them like that?”

“Tch, you’re talking about that brat Chen Xiaohu? Don’t worry. Chen Jiusi is down, and his little fishery job won’t last long. Besides, the Big Ship Leader has promised that our son will soon be a fishery staff. Afraid of him?”

“Exactly, mom, why should I be scared? Yesterday, the Big Ship Leader promised us he’d let us know soon. For all we know, news of me joining the fishery might come any moment.”

His wife still looked worried, “Old man, will Chen Jiusi fall that easily?”

“Hey, isn’t it quick enough? Remember how much industry Uncle left him? And look at him now. Within less than half a year, it was all lost. It’s the same now; that wild kid Chen Jiusi isn’t up to anything. This morning, I spoke to the Clan Leader about removing him from the family records in a few days.”

“By the way, Chen Erba knew about this too and went to the Clan Leader to make a fuss. The Clan Leader ignored him, which amused me a lot. I suggested he be expelled from the family records too. In the future, the Chen family will be under our control.”

“Xiong’er!”

“Yes, Dad!”

Chen Xiong responded.

“Once at the fishery, you must cling to the Big Ship Leader’s leg firmly. Remember who promoted you. If Wu Zhong assigns you a task, just make sure it looks good on the surface, understood?”

“Understood, Dad, I’m the Big Ship Leader’s man!”

“Ah, that’s my son. Come, have an egg; these eggs taste great!”

Hearing this, his wife felt reassured and smiled, “Alright, since you both say so, I’m not scared anymore. Wait here; I’ll fry up another dish for you.”

Just as the family was dining, dreaming of a bright future.

Suddenly, their door was kicked open, and a man wearing the Fishing Guild Captain’s uniform walked in, followed by some underlings, scanning the courtyard with his eyes.

“Is anyone home?”

Upon hearing this, Chen Sanliu immediately stood up.

“Here they come, Fishing Guild people, probably bringing news for Xiong’er. The Big Ship Leader handles matters swiftly. Hurry, Xiong’er, come with me to greet them!”

Saying this, the father and son went out to greet their visitors.

Zhou Chu glanced at the father and son duo.

Chen Sanliu bent over with a smile, “Ah, ah, it’s exhausting work!”

Saying this, he tried to stuff half a cent into Zhou Chu’s hand.

Zhou Chu looked at the money, sneered, and then looked at Chen Sanliu, “You’re Chen Sanliu, aren’t you?”

“Yes, yes, I’m Chen Sanliu, and this is my son, Chen Xiong. Are you here on behalf of the Big Ship Leader to bring us news?”

Chen Sanliu asked eagerly.

Zhou Chu nodded, “Hmm, it’s good that you’re Chen Sanliu. I have something for you!”

Slap!

He slapped Chen Sanliu hard, spinning him around and landing him on the ground.

Then, with a bewildered look, he stared at Zhou Chu.

“Me, Chen Sanliu…”

Meaning, why are you hitting me?

Zhou Chu then grabbed Chen Sanliu by the collar and said, “I’m hitting you, Chen Sanliu, beat him to death!”
